A progressive melodic metal band from Northamptonshire in the UK. [ANTI]faith are known for their creepy stage personalities and their melodic, almost poppy take on progressive metal, incorporating sludge, technical and even doom metal into their idiosyncratic sound. They have - to date - self-released one album, [SANCTUM 60/40] and received airplay from Kerrang! radio amongst others.
[ANTI]faith, despite the name, are not overtly anti-religious.
[ANTI]faith and their music contain examples of:
- Non-Appearing Title: Many of them.
- 1,000 Cuts
- And So We Drowned comes close to averting this, but not close enough.
- Exit Wounds
- Insomnia, despite referencing sleep and sleeplessness a lot, doesn't actually contain the word Insomnia.
- ...Welcomes Careful Drivers
- We Wrote This Song for Simon!!
- Shout-Out: Quite a few, most notably:
- The Raven has shout outs to Edgar Allan Poe's poem of the same name, as well as Harlan Ellison's I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.
- 1,000 Cuts contains a shout out to The Raven (as in, their own song), by repeating the lines "Still there came a rapping, as of someone gently tapping", albeit in a different context.
- 1,000 Cuts has a reference to Alastair Campbell's novel All In The Mind buried in it.
- The Raven has shout outs to Edgar Allan Poe's poem of the same name, as well as Harlan Ellison's I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.
- Title-Only Chorus: Though not direct examples, both Stillborn Messiah and Skinwalker have the title of the song repeated as their last lines.
