Monster: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
  • In Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, the orphanage leader from Miyo Takano's past was quite a despicable bastard. He kept children in line by fear, whipping the disobedient ones while others could hear them. Then there's the scene where one boy accidentally spills his ink, so the leader forces the boy to eat it. It's his treatment that helped turn Miyo Takano into a delusional psycho herself.
  • Just because of her tragic past, this doesn't stray Takano away from this. She still murders about 2,000 of her own villagers with the Hinamwizawa Syndrome and kills Rika and her friends in The Massacre Chapter. Her true line of villainy happens when she asks Satako which was green: broccoli or cauliflower. It has been implied that she herself was color blind and had no idea either and just killed Satako anyway. And then there's the argument that killing her wasn't even necessary to the plot and that she just did it for fun. It's also shown that she inserted her own boyfriend with the Syndrome and killed him and that she faked her own death in the other worlds. It's also shown that she murdered Rika's parents, because they would intervene in her plans. She also had a weird obsession with torture weapons and was implied to try to perform a live vivisection on Satako. Just to say, her Villainous Breakdown was greatly deserving.
    • Of course, this was all just mostly as a result of what Tokyo, Nomura, and the orphanage leader did to her.
  • And of course, speaking of Nomura, she was the ultimate monster of the franchise as well. Being the Manipulative Bitch she was, she tricked Takano into helping her and also helped to indirectly cause the Great Hinamizawa Disaster, all for no reason at all other than just to close up a company. And what's worse? She's a Karma Houdini.
  • Teppei and his partner-in-crime, Rina, count as well. While Teppei takes pleasure in abusing Satoko and Satoshi, Rina tried to blackmail Rena's father and even attempted to strangle Rena herself. Good thing Rena killed her; if it weren't for Rina's death at Rena's hands, Rina would've strangled her even more.
