The meme. [[labelnote:Explanation]]The explanation behind the meme, if necessary.[[/labelnote]]ExplanationLike this.
Further mutations and successor memes, if any.
"Green is not a creative colour." ExplanationPerhaps one of the most quoted lines in the series. If there's a discussion involving the color green, expect this line to pop up.
"Whoa there, friend, you might need to slow down." ExplanationAnother frequently quoted line from the first video, after which Sketchbook drenches Yellow Guy's clown painting in black paint. It's an early indicator of where things are headed.
"Let's get creative!" ExplanationThe first video focuses on, well, creativity, with this being a line said right before the video descends into madness. It's sometimes used as Sketchbook's catchphrase in fanworks.
"Now let's all agree to never be creative again." ExplanationSketchbook's last line, often used in response to an art or media work the meme creator finds abhorrent. Tumblr and DeviantArt, are common punching bags as far as bad artwork goes, are common targets to invoke this.
I thought we agreed to never be creative again. ExplanationAn evocation of Sketchbook's ultimatum at the end of "Creativity".
"There's a time and a place for mucking around!" ExplanationTony's Stern Teacher warning to Duck, who is playing cards in the middle of his song.
MEH! MEH! MEH! MEH! MEH! MEH! MEH!ExplanationTony's Sensory Abuse screeching in response to people questioning the nature of time, which causes poor Yellow Guy's ears to bleed.
"Make it staaahhhp!!" ExplanationYellow Guy's reaction to the acceleration of time.
"Time is changing all the time, it's time to go to time!" ExplanationA part of Tony's song where he suddenly erupts into operatic singing, which combined with the redundancy and his voice cracking, is utterly hilarious.
"We don't really want to. We're going to miss our show." ExplanationThe line immediately following the above, with Red Guy singing in an unimpressed tone.
Roy's face alone is commonly used as a reaction image. ExplanationYou can guess why, what with his being a GonkNightmare Fuel Station Attendant and Abusive Parent whose first proper introduction features the screen turning red with heavy breathing playing in the background.
"But look, a computer!" ExplanationThis line from "Time" is often used to refer to "Computers", which features a computer as its teacher. Notably, in "Dreams", a transition was made from Tony to Colin using this line.
A piece of fanart depicting Tony as a man in a star-pattern black coat and clock pin and Sketchbook as a woman with rainbow hair and a two-layered dress with a gore pattern on the under layer quickly became the standard humanized appearance of them.
"Now you can see the importance of time, it helps us make 'pizzer', it keeps things in line." ExplanationTony's pronunciation of the word "pizza" makes it sound like he's saying "pizzer" instead.
"Pesky bee!" ExplanationDuck mistaking a butterfly for a bee.
"Wow, look, a (noun)!" ExplanationA snowclone derived from "Computers", where whatever Yellow Guy sees in the door is replaced with a noun of choice.
"Wow! Look! Nothing!" ExplanationWhat Yellow Guy eventually starts seeing in the door after a few graphs and charts. It is used as meme templates to show a lack of something existing.
"Digital style!" ExplanationPart of the loop features Duck wearing multiple outfits while saying this line as a clear riff on online fashion culture.
"Do a digital dancing. Hey, this is fun!"ExplanationYet another part of the loop, this time spoken by Colin himself while doing just that.
aspic ExplanationOut of all of the "healthy" foods that the Healthy Band showed in Episode 5, this was the one that stood out to the fandom, mainly due to it being funny to say.
"X make your teeth go grey!" ExplanationAnother snowclone, this time from Episode 5, where "X" is any kind of food.
"Oh, looks like somebody's having a bad dream!"ExplanationThe opening of "Dreams" has a singing lamp teacher that focuses on dreams, which a horrified Yellow Guy tries to stop. This swiftly results in the teacher attempting to drown him in oil, saying the quote.
"BEE-BOP-A-DOO-BOP! I'LL TEACH YOU HOW TO BUY A CANOOOOOOOOE!"note In this sixth installment, a saxophone spontaneously appears in the Yellow Guy's room and, unlike the rest of the teachers, his song doesn't go with his theme.
"Good thing he didn't call him the black guy!" ExplanationMatPat of Game Theory and Film Theory fame made a theory in which he referred to Duck simply as "the duck", causing many to congratulate him on not calling him the black guy (despite Duck being dark green).
"The log is in the bin!" ExplanationA video uploaded to Becky Sloan's Instagram showed behind-the-scenes footage of "Time", with Red Guy playing with a log prop while chanting this phrase. Notably, Joe Pelling, who plays Red Guy, is clearly trying not to laugh.
Red Guy shouting. ExplanationUnlike the webseries, the TV series features Red Guy shouting on multiple occasions, a stark contrast to his normal Dull Surprise reaction.
"I can't help you, I don't work here. Okay. Bye, BYE!!!" ExplanationRed Guy shouting at the phone in "Jobs", then hanging up. This somehow places him in the role of manager.
"And we live in an actual NIGHTMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARE—"ExplanationThe Couch Gag in "Friendship" has Red Guy shouting this mid-song. It's very applicable to the series as a whole, as well as easily repurposed for various uses.
"I'M DEALING WITH IT!"Explanation At the end of "Friendship", Red Guy yells at Yellow during the fight as mentioned below, before hitting him with a bottle and the screen cutting to credits.
Red Guy's teeth. ExplanationA shot of Red Guy in "Death" reveals that under the mass of hair he has some disgusting realistic-looking human teeth. Needless to say, the horror that this shot has brought has been joked about in various ways.
The gang fighting. Explanation"Friendship" ends with the Mood Whiplash of Yellow Guy accidentally smashing the new computer mid-song, then the group getting into another argument which escalates into violence over the end credits. You can even hear what sounds like gunfire and a chainsaw being brought into the mix. Several fan interpretations of this scene, particularly what happened after the cut to credits, exist.
Roasting Warren. ExplanationMany people have made edits of the guys and Colin making fun of Warren the Worm, usually accompanied by the Vine boom sound effect, as seen here.
Duck in general is incredibly quotable in the TV series.
"Attention, freaks! It's me!" ExplanationWhen the gang arrive at the factory during "Jobs", Duck tries to assert himself at the workplace by grabbing a megaphone and shouting this at the factory workers to get their attention, to no avail.
"As far back as I could remember, I always knew I deserved to be dead!" ExplanationThis Duck line (which also Makes Just as Much Sense in Context) from "Death" is popularly used for jokes about things like depression due to its surprising applicability.
Duck Guy's mixtape.ExplanationAside from being Foreshadowing, it's also quite the catchy number that Duck himself listens to in his coffin underground in "Death".
"I WANT BOTH!!!"Explanation"Family" ends with Red Guy finally being able to open the bag of Chuddle Dollops, which turns out to only contain two. Duck pipes up that he wants both of them, which has become a reaction meme.
