* Tony Stark's armour being created out of {{Nanomachines}} has led many fans to compare it to Senator Armstrong's powers in ''VideoGame/MetalGearRevengeance''. The similarities are aided by Tony [[NoSell taking very little damage from Cull Obsidian]], with only Thanos being able to hurt him -- even then, Tony constantly regenerates his nanomachines. Even after getting hit by an energy beam made by the Power Stone, Tony is able to guard it.

* Thanos VS ''Franchise/JohnWick'' [[labelnote:Explanation]]A typical meme is to take ''[[Film/JohnWick John Wick: Chapter 1]]'' and change its revenge story to John hunting down Thanos for dusting his dog. May be accompanied with Thanos having an OhCrap reaction with the knowledge that John is coming for him.[[/labelnote]]

* "Dude, you are embarrassing me in front of the wizards." [[labelnote:Explanation]]Tony Stark says this to Bruce Banner when the latter fails to transform into the Hulk to fight Ebony Maw, while Doctor Strange and Wong wait in anticipation. Used to reference any moment when technology suddenly starts working in front of the experts, such as your computer after you've called Tech Support, or your car once you get it in to a mechanic. * "What does this monster have to mourn?" [[labelnote:Explanation]]A line often misattributed to Star-Lord, this is actually spoken by Drax when Mantis feels Thanos's emotions during the Avengers' plan to get the Infinity Gauntlet off him. Memes have sprouted joking that Thanos was mourning any number of stupid things, such ''VideoGame/ClubPenguin'''s shutdown or the ending to [=ShindoL=]'s infamous {{hentai}} Doujin ''Emergence''.[[/labelnote]]

* The official promotional poster shows a now bearded Captain America. Fans immediately noticed the resemblance between him and Punished 'Venom' Snake from ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolidVThePhantomPain'' as well as Solid Snake from ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid'', leading to numerous fan edits pictures that add an eyepatch, a bandana, and occasionally a [[http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/277/944/c71.png shrapnel horn]] to Captain America to make him look like Venom Snake, Big Boss or Solid Snake. [[note]] Which becomes a FunnyAneurysmMoment because Bucky turns to ash after Thanos's finger snap, and not Steve; it's an uncomfortable reminder of how a good number of Venom Snake's soldiers were cremated after he had to shoot them following a deadly viral outbreak with Snake then rubbing the ashes on his face, and the mood in both instances is incredibly painful to watch.
