* MistakenForGay: Mizuki's been mistaken as transgender from both directions. Characters who learn Mizuki is female, but ''not'' that he was transformed into a girl, usually take Mizuki's declarations that he's a guy as something along the lines of Mizuki being a transgender boy who's already transitioned. Another character, [[spoiler:Fujiwara]], who ''does'' know Mizuki was male but sees him doing girly things (such as wearing panties) goes in the opposite direction and assumes Mizuki wants to be a girl and is still in the closet. [[spoiler:The later is fairly validated Mizuki's decision to live as a woman at the end of the series.]]

* PunBasedTitle: The series title is a play on the phrase "{{bokukko}}", where the feminine "-kko" suffix is replaced with [[GratuitousEnglish the English word "girl"]]. Rather than referring to a otherwise regular girl who uses the masculine pronoun ''boku'', it's used for a boy who does so after being turned into a girl.

* TheyDo: [[spoiler: Mizuki decides to live as a girl, and finally confesses to Takeru. They're dating by the last chapter.]]

* RecursiveCrossdressing: After Mizuki is made biologically female, he can still pass as a guy (as much as he ever could) so long as he wears male clothing. [[ThirdLawOfGenderBending Circumstances contrive themselves to get Mizuki wearing girls' clothes]], which Fujiwara sees and believes he's a crossdressing boy.

* PantyShot: The ''first time'' Mizuki is forced to wear womens' underwear (because his boxers were left out to dry during a rainstorm) is also the one time he ends up flashing his undies [[spoiler:to Fujiwara]].

* TransEqualsGay: Zigzagged; though Mizuki gradually warms up to both the ideas of [[SecondLawOfGenderBending permanently living as a girl]] and [[JumpingTheGenderBarrier falling in love with Takeru]], they're not quite treated as equivalent. [[spoiler:Eventually, Mizuki becomes male again, which doesn't change his mind about either. Despite the possibility Mizuki was secretly female-identifying and in love with a guy from the beginning, these traits seem incidental, as [[IfItsYouItsOK Takeru's gender actually just seems irrelevant to Mizuki's attraction]]. But Loki ultimately makes it so Mizuki will be the opposite sex of whoever he falls in love with. [[EnforcedTrope This basically forces Mizuki to be a straight girl or a straight guy]], and Mizuki never really fights for any other option.]]

* DisguisedInDrag: Now that he's a girl, Mizuki's boys' uniform counts as a crossdressing disguise.

* PantyShot: The ''one time'' Mizuki is forced to wear womens' underwear (because his boxers were left out to dry during a rainstorm) is also the one time he ends up flashing his undies [[spoiler:to Fujiwara]].

** As Mizuki starts to become more feminine, [[JumpingTheGenderBarrier he begins fantasizing about Takeru]]. Then even when Mizuki is temporarily turned male again, he's ''still'' attracted to Takeru. [[spoiler:In the final chapter he decides to remain a girl and they hook up.]]

* ForcedOrgasm: At one point Mizuki is caught in a tug of war game with a rope between their legs being vigorously pulled back and forth. The outcome is so modest that Mizuki being recently [[GenderBender genderbent]] into a girl and thus not familiar with the sensation mistakes it for a PottyFailure.

* InvoluntaryOrgasm: As a result of a badly placed rope (courtesy of Loki), Mizuki ends up having TheModestOrgasm in the middle of gym class. Not familiar with the sensations, Mizuki thought it was a case of PottyFailure.

* MasculineFeminineAndrogyneTrio: The three main characters are the GenderBender Mizuki, the big and muscular Takeru, and the cute and girly Fujiwara.
