Not to be confused with ''WesternAnimation/{{Bobobobs}}'', a similarly wacky (but infinitely saner) Japanese/Spanish animated series that enjoyed some heavy popularity in those countries in TheNineties.

* HardWorkHardlyWorks - When Bo-bobo was chosen over Gunkan as the 7th Master of the Fist of the Nose Hair, this led to Gunkan's betrayal.

* TrueArtIsIncomprehensible: In-Universe, Giga's ''Super Fist of Objet d'Art'', ordinary objects turned into incomprehensible art. He also considers Don Patch the true definition of art for some reason.

* WidgetSeries: While a {{Shonen}} series especially later on, it relies heavily on comedy, even when it departs from parodying different romantic and drama genres in earlier episodes.

* ShoutOut: For one, Bo-bobo summons [[spoiler:Yugi Mutou from his afro in one chapter (drawn by Creator/KazukiTakahashi, no less)]], and Dengakuman looks suspiciously like [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog a Chao]]. Also, he once does a attack that involves [[spoiler:A Dragonball Z posterboard, and Bo-bobo, when thrown while doing this attack, shouts "Vegeta"!]] All of this is from one volume.

* SomethingSomethingLeonardBernstein: The second opening, "Baka Survivor" by Ulfuls, which goes a mile a minute and is in ''[[KansaiRegionalAccent Osaka-ben]]''! The only words most people remember are the title and (maybe) the chorus.

* XRayOfPain: During his fight against Giga, Bobobo delivered a punch so powerful that we the bones in his arm shatter.

* LuckyTranslation: "Hanage Shin Ken" (a parody of "Hokuto Shin Ken" from ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'') literally means "True Fist of the Nose Hair". The reference to ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'' is obvious, even more so if the "True" is omitted. This is in fact ''doubly'' lucky, since "Hokuto" is actually the name for the Big Dipper, not the North Star.

* BareYourMidriff: Both men and women have this outfit, including Beauty, Bo-bobo himself, Battleship and Denbo.

Purely ForTheEvulz, Emperor Tsuru Tsurulina IV (Czar Baldy Bald IV) has initiated a globe-spanning crusade called the "Hair Hunt". Said Hair Hunt consists of the empire's army, the "Hair Hunters", pillaging countless villages and shaving the inhabitants of said villages bald against their will. But there's one man who means to put an end to the Hair Hunt and protect the hair of people everywhere, and his name is Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (or "Bo-bobo", for short).

Bo-bobo is the master of the ''Hanage Shinken'', (Super Fist of the Nose Hair), an oddball form of martial arts that grants him the ability to manipulate his own nose hair to defeat his enemies. More often, though, he defeats them by confusing them to the point of insanity with his countless eccentricities and endless assortment of sight gags (like [[GhostInTheMachine little people living inside his massive blonde Afro]]). This is eventually revealed to ''also'' be a [[ConfusionFu form of martial arts]] in Bo-bobo's world, known as "Hajike" (from the Japanese word "hajikeru", which literally means "to burst" but can also mean "to go crazy", translated as "Wiggin" ala the phrase "Wiggin Out"), where the object is to use these strange happenings to distract and confuse your enemy into submission.

* AmusementParkOfDoom: The Chrome Dome Empire's strongest bases of operations are these. ''Why'' their amusement parks and not actually, you know, military bases is anyone's guess.
