What The Duck Did He Just Say
The danger of being The Unintelligible is that people tend to try to figure out for themselves what you said...and will often drive their minds straight into the gutter, while doing so. Sure, it might be a good way to sneak in some bad language if no one can understand it, but if it's not meant to be naughty...well, how can we tell? It's almost always hilarious when done, but watch that the Media Watchdogs don't get a hold of it...

Compare This Trope is [BLEEP].

Examples:

  • As hinted by the title, Disney's Donald Duck is the king of this trope, with many people swearing they heard him...well...swear while on a rant...
    • Taken to humorous extremes in a clip of Kingdom Hearts II, where a Japanese-speaking Donald sure sounds like he's telling Sora to go down on him.
  • Similarly, Chip and Dale were accused of this during their early cartoons, though recently their dialect has cleaned up to the point where they are no longer The Unintelligible.
  • Listen closely to the post-level song for Yoshis Story; either they're saying "The Apple", or "The asshole" multiple times.
  • When you get to the final fight against K. Rool in Donkey Kong 64, it sounds like he's telling either the audience or the Kongs off.
  • The legendary obscene lyrics to the Kingsmen's cover of "Louie Louie" were purely a product of listeners' imaginations.
    • On the other hand, "R Ock Wrok" (by 80s synthpop group Ultravox!) was played on BBC Radio 1 because the censors thought "fuck like a dog / bite like a shark" was "bark like a dog / bite like a shark".
  • The Unintelligible Kenny of South Park is frequently bleeped on network-TV airings of the show. Of course, some of his indistinct mumblings really contain dirty words.
