Fantasy/intrigue series set in the Eberron world. Written by Keith Baker, creator of said Eberron world.As a child, Nyrielle Tam saw her father go to war, a hero to the country, and return with tales of faraway places.One day he never returned.In ordr to earn bread for her younger brother, and out of a sense of duty, Nyrielle joins the Brelish Army, where she meets an undercover agent who recruits her to the Brelish secret service, the Kings Dark Lanterns. In the Lanterns, Nyrielle gains a new name: Thorn. Thorn works as an agent during the last war, until a Thranish doomsaday device kills her lover and leaves two shards of crystal in her back.
