The Dream Merchant is a 2002 Dutch fantasy novel by Isabel Hoving that has been compared to the likes of J. R. R. Tolkien.

This book provides examples of:

Chekhov's Skill: Teresa is good at telling stories, Baz/Bors is an amateur drummer, Joshua is... just a bit kleptomaniac.
Door Stopper: While not as hefty as some other books, it still clocks in at a perfectly respectable 640 pages.
