* In ''VideoGame/NewHorizons'', players can acquire a Long Rifle with a scope as a reward for the "Church Protection"-quest. Not only can they aim manually using 1st person-mode, it also has an enormous range with high damage to boot. It only has one shot though.

* The Dynames and Cherudim Gundams in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam00'' both carry mecha sized energy rifles that are used in the same way as a conventional sniper rifle. Oh, and the Dynames has another sniper rifle that can hit targets in orbit... from the ground. This can become ridiculous when Gundam-sized sniper disguise nets are used. Before ''00'', several sniper-style HumongousMecha were featured as part of the backstory, though the only one to gain any real notice is the GM Sniper II, which was the strongest unlockable in the UsefulNotes/SegaDreamcast game ''Rise from the Ashes''.

In a game where your titular AC-130 gunship can often carry prototype/experimental SiegeEngines far more powerful than anything on the real aircraft - somehow your sniper rifles, which use bullets far tinier than the rockets, bombs and artillery shells of your other weapons, will do far more damage. But the cost is no area effect and a slow firing rate. So sniper rifles are usually reserved for killing zombie Titans rather than used against zombie mobs.

The sequel adds a second sniper rifle that holds more ammo compared to the hunting rifle and a smidge less unscoped accuracy. "The Last Stand" update also added the previously regionally locked Steyr Scout and Arctic Warfare Super Magnum bolt-action rifles from ''VideoGame/CounterStrike: Source'' to the regular rotation.
