What a story or a believer needs to recognize an entity as a god can vary wildly.
6 - A charlatan or particularly smart/important entity, but not above human capabilities. (Ex: someone who gets themselves made chief.)
5 - An entity with superhuman abilities (weightlifts cars, hears talking 10 kilometers away.)
4- An entity with supernatural abilities. (telepathy, teleporting)
3- A reality warper or Physical God, still somewhat mortal and not omniscient. (Haruhi Suzumiya, Roman and Greek Pantheons)
2- A step below god; harming their physical form has no effect or they have no physical form, able to change features on a celestial scale, but still not quite omnipotent, omniscient, or omnipresent (Ancients and Ori from Stargate).
1- ACTUAL omnipotency, omniscience and omnipresence. (Ex: Yahweh, the Abrahamic god).
Note: This scale is based on their actual abilities in relation to Real Life, not whatever their abilities are perceived to be. If literally everyone is using telepathy, then everyone is a type 4.
