When the sexual stuff is not the only point to it, any Pornography can be considered this. Sure the writer/artist was probably typing/drawing one-handed at some point, but it has a plot that isn't merely an excuse for having sex or any explicit content on screen. Bonus points if the sex is actually plausibly worked into said plot or used for characterization. Sometimes, this is the consequence of a Porn Without Plot developing a Plot Tumor.

In some cases, pornographic works were once made with plotlines so that they could be considered "art"^note If it's just people doing it, it's obscene. If it's a pizza guy with his dick in the box, it's a story, even if it's a shitty story. and thus protected from the laws against indecency. A more tolerant public, an expanded view of freedom of speech and of the press, in combination with the explosion of the internet allowing for easy distribution, lead to the overwhelmingly Porn Without Plot porn world we have today. That said, even today, there are porn films with intriguing if not all that well-developed plots and at least some porn stars are serious albeit often not terrifically talented actors.

And there are exceptions to every rule. Café Flesh, a 1982 sci-fi porn film, has been recognized as a bonafide SF classic. And several more recent porn films, particularly of the "parody" genre, have been considered high-enough quality in terms of acting, plot, and production value that they have been successfully released in adult-oriented or even youth-oriented edits with sexual content either reduced or all but eliminated (examples include Flesh Gordon, Pirates and Star Wars XXX).

More importantly, as the above quote notes, the really smart creators understand that if you create characters whom you care about, then the sexual content depicted with them is usually much more satisfying beyond mere titillation. Furthermore, as the stories with those characters progress with this artistic integrity in mind, the real interest for the reader will be not how bizarre the sex gets, but how the different characters get along with their differing tastes and points of view.

A lot of H-games, or eroge, can be described as this. Even though a lot of them stick close to their tropes, especially female archetypes with the Harem Genre games, remember, tropes don't have to be bad. There are plenty of comedy works, but also a fair share of drama and romance. Some are better than others, and a few are considerably better than most. However, some people have a habit of grouping Porn with Plot with hentai and calling both of them the same thing, even if the "porn" amounts to maybe one or two raunchier scenes hidden amidst the non-sexual parts that make up the majority of episodes/runtime or hours of gameplay.

Even the Furry Fandom can make good use of this trope if enough effort is put into the story department, despite them otherwise making furry porn their vocal selling point.

Anime & Manga

• Yamatogawa is an artist and author of a number of one-shot and short series hentai manga, most to all of which could be considered Porn with Plot because of the ridiculous quantity of explicit sex. Except they all have legitimate and well-written stories and many are flat-out hilarious, plus the art is really very good.
• After... The Animation. A 2 chapters OVA based on a Visual Novel by Ciel, the story is about a group of six kids — 3 boys and 3 girls — during their last year of high school, where we know about their complicated feelings and the different love triangles they're all involved. It gets deep when you know each of their inner issues, especially when they discuss settling down for their future and their love lives. And the porn scenes are pretty good.
• Ah... and Mm... Are All She Says: In-Universe, hentai editor Tanaka prefers publishing this to Porn Without Plot, though she understands the need for "utility" in her line of work. Most of Toda's work is this, as is Norush's after the competition starts.
• Alice In Sexland, despite the rather uninspired title, is a reimagining of the classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Wonderland, in this version, is an afterlife for people who died as a result of sexual and emotional abuse, in which those victims can live in a world of magical people offering Safe, Sane, and Consensual sex. The Red Queen becomes a metaphor for colonialism, as she is another human who died of abuse, but carried on regrets, bringing about a culture of rape.
• The 2000s hentai series Bible Black (which includes the visual novels, the prequel Gaiden, and the sequel Shin/The New Testament) is all about Black Magic in a school with this Spell Book that apart of having sex spells, also can make a Deal with the Devil in exchange for immortality and supernatural powers. Though well-known for the hardcore sex scenes, the series is praised for its story, and the schoolgirl outfits became so famous that they're actually a trend among some female cosplayers in events (without the H-content, of course... with some exceptions for lewd photo sessions).
• Can Can Bunny Extra is a six-part harem hentai focusing on the male lead winning the hearts of his lovers by making a positive difference in their lives, and the sex takes up about 10% of the runtime.
• Coyote. It's a non-canon prequel to Hellsing that involves La Résistance, Pip Bernadotte's backstory, foxy snipers, Those Wacky Nazis, and an Arab boy with dual handguns. You could crop out all the sex and it still constitutes a story, if not a compelling one.
• Boom Boom Satellites is a kemono doujinshi (aka Furry comic) from Cheshire, a furry artist and a former member of the group FCLG. While the comic is adult and features a bit of gay sex, it has a surprisingly deep plot about a Tragic Villain out to get revenge on a corrupt company for killing people dear to him. And the story does focus on his backstory for a bit.
• Class Teni De Ore Dake Haburaretara is all about an Ordinary Highschool Student and his class getting whisked away to a new world to fight against a Devil King, but the main character is gifted a [Sexual Lunatic] skill that makes any female, of any species, his "familiar" by touch. He gets driven out of the class and castle by the other boys of his class, using the well-being of the women as a pretext. Alone in a new world, knowing nothing of the lay of the land, its people, customs, or norms, he is soon left with no choice but to use his one and only skill on his female classmates. For some reason, this makes said female classmates unbelievably horny, to the point they won't take "no" for an answer.
• Destiny Lovers is an erotic thriller mystery manga series about women running a prison and trying to seduce male prisoners into giving up their virginity to save the world.
• Dragon Knight: Wheel of Time is a Medieval swords and sorcery adventure, spanning four 30min. episodes. Marlenna sends Kakeru into the past again in an attempt to put an end to what's become a repeating timeline, where she betrays him and aids Lucifon in turning their world into a near barren wasteland. What follows, is a quest where Kakeru has to keep his identity secret from his 15-year-old self and his love interest, Natasha. All while leading the last remnants of humanity against Lucifon's army and watching for the signs Marleena's inevitable betrayal. It can be loosely thought of as Record of Lodoss War re-imagined as softcore porn.^note Since there's only one sex scene per episode, which are usually short and never shows actual penetration. ADV Films has even released a censored version with the sex scenes removed entirely, which reduces its total runtime from 125 minutes to 105.
• The classic 90's hentai manga Dragon Pink by ITOYOKO is perhaps the purest possible example of this trope, to the point where it's more like an engrossing fantasy RPG-like series that just so happens to include sex scenes than actual porn. Starting off as a simple pornographic Affectionate Parody of your stereotypical JRPG, the plot slowly builds to a fever pitch as our party Bobo & Pias/Pierce (who later become a Battle Couple and even have a child together) and Santa & his slave Cat Girl Pink Walk the Earth and save the ravaged world from vile villains. If only the story didn't stop on Pink being impaled by a sword while the others watch on in horror. In a private email to a troper, ITOYOKO said he wants to finish the tale, but he simply doesn't have the time right now. So there may be hope for Pink and her pals yet.
• Drainage City is a very strange hentai about the bizarre inhabitants of a sewer-based society, with lots and lots of bizarre sex involved. It's weird enough that it would be compelling even without the sex, but the sex that does ensue is even more bizarre.
• Dōkyūsei: End of Summer is a 4 part series that's equal parts Slice of Life and Dating Sim, about Wataru, who dreams of working up the courage to ask Mai to be his girlfriend. As the title implies, he has 'til the end of summer (just two weeks away) to do it. Except Mai is already sorta seeing someone and there's three other girls to contend with, plus, he has to deal with his best friend's love problems. All of which makes it hard for Wataru to concentrate on his own.
• The Elven Bride had the titular elf and her human husband struggling to live a happy life together and facing obstacles that interfered with their happiness amongst the gratuitous sex scenes.
• Femme Kabuki is essentially what Showgirls wanted to be along with a history lesson on Meiji Era Japan as it's about the troupe dealing with a hypocritically corrupt world and the sex itself is usually portrayed more positively as artistic, cathartic, heartwarming and just plain fun rather than seedy as the ex-samurai turned dirty cops claim it to be out of bitterness at losing their old status.
• In Glass no Megami, it's love at first sight for college students Sakura and Kurimiya, but Genki Girl Aya — Kurimiya's classmate since childhood and current Kouhai — sweeps Sakura off his feet before he quite knows what's happening. When Aya ends up falling deeply in love with him, Sakura has to decide what and who he wants the most. It's a fairly standard Love Triangle plot with plenty of steamy sex, but it's well-written with characters who are engaging enough that the ultimate breaking of the triangle is a heart-breaking Tear Jerker.
• Gosenzo Sane (released to English audiences as Masquerade) is a mystery drama hentai that tells the tale of a young teen discovering his family carries the elixir of life in their bodies... through sex with his vampire maid, a scientist researching his family and his female ancestor, who notes that he resembles her first lover.
• Haru wo Daiteita's plot is based on two male Adult Video actors attempting to break into mainstream acting. They actually have some success, in spite of the paparazzi and backstabbing actors.
• Hatsu Inu. At least in the first episode. An Ordinary High-School Student manages to score an incredibly hot (if very quiet^note In fact, she only talked about two or three times throughout the whole series; most readers initially believed her to be actually mute.) girl. The problem? She has a fetish for toys and it quite hurts on the poor dude's psyche ("Which do you prefer, your toys or me?"). Features gorgeous artwork and at times, hilarious moments.
• Hell's Tormentor Kraken: The main setting is a women's prison in a fantasy world, full of battles and even court intrigue. The main character ends up having sex with many women in between battles.
• Hero no Himitsu is a Gender Bender Sentai erotica manga, but if you ignore the sex scenes you get a surprisingly sweet love story.
• Hidoku Shinaide: This Boys' Love story starts off with Maya blackmailing Nemugasa into sleeping with him and forcing himself onto Nemugasa constantly, with much of the early chapters acting as little more than set-up for the two to sleep together. This changes in the second volume where the two leads begin to develop beyond their Fetishized Abuser and Stereotypical Nerd boxes, with more emphasis put on their personalities, compatibility, and their lives outside of the relationship, the sex scenes in later chapters being used to explore their changing feelings towards each other and their relationship.
• Hoshi Gari Sugidesho!? Inaba-san (lit. Isn't it too much!? Inaba-san) is a Killing Bites spinoff focusing on a sexually-frustrated Ui Inaba the Brute Rabbit as she develops an obsession with the various kinds of genitalia beastmen have. The main story has enough fanservice and depictions of weird animal dicks as it is but this free, online-released spinoff is even more graphic.
• Is My Hobby Weird? is a Yuri short story about Maiko Fujiyama, who spends her morning commute staring up other girls' skirts, as she ascends the stairs at the subway station. Her secret kink is that girls with firm, plump buttocks turn her on, which is how she meets Risa Tsuzuki. To Maiko's surprise, Risa was not only aware of it, she tells Maiko she doesn't mind and entices her to continue staring up her skirt. Despite having graphic sex scenes, they're more artistic than titillating, due to Camuko's artstyle, character designs, and his painstaking attention to detail.
• Hybrid × Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia: The main plot is a group of people in Magitek Powered Armor defending the world from invaders from another dimension. Sex is a crucial plot point because arousal, lust, orgasms, and love replenishes the fighters' magical energy, so some foreplay before or even during a battle can mean the difference between life and death.
• Yasuomi Umetsu's Kite (1998) and Mezzo Forte are fairly extreme examples — Mezzo Forte in particular only has two sex scenes between two episodes, both of which are shoehorned in with no real plot impact; one is even All Just a Dream. Both received non-pornographic follow-ups. This is actually not uncommon in anime... a creator will be unable to sell his anime plot as a serious series, but by adding at least two sex scenes can get someone to finance it as a hentai venture. This is especially true of fairly generic "sci-fi horror" stories, where the sexuality could lift right out and the story would be unaltered. There are at least 13 episodes of Mezzo which were once available in the US which aren't hentai.
• Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine is usually considered to be one of the best Lupin III incarnations; it's also softcore porn where Fujiko spends a lot of time naked.
• Maiden Rose (a.k.a. Hyakujitsu No Bara) has a lot of graphic/explicit sex scenes (including some quite brutal rape scenes) which manage to add depth to the main characters. In addition to this, it has one of the most fascinating and convoluted plots to be found in BL manga, which is heavily influenced by war and politics.
• Maka Maka: Or more precisely, "Porn with characterization" - you can tell that both friends care deeply for each other, even though you pretty much only ever see them having sex together.
• The Man Who Saved Me on my Isekai Trip is a Killer: The protagonist finds herself Trapped in Another World without any cheat abilities or any means to support herself. Having nowhere else to go, she gives in to a psychotic mercenary who takes a liking to her because she reminds him of his sister. Gained notoriety online for its beautifully animated NSFW promotional video (though with no actual plan for a full-length Animated Adaptation).
• Mekko Rarekko (The Bully and the Bullied translated to English), is a Kemono doujinshi by Kinoshita Jiroh, another former member of the kemono comic group, FCLG, who has worked on other furry comics like The Spicy Ninja Scrolls, that features two junior high school students and Furry sex in every chapter, but later on, the plot becomes so depressing that most people just read it to find out what happens next rather than for...other things. The characters either have a Dark and Troubled Past or they are psychologically damaged in some way, sometimes they are both and the sex the characters do have always has ulterior motives that make it difficult to get aroused by. But the story does have a few nice heartwarming moments in it.
• Metamorphosis is an infamous hentai doujin notable for its realistic depictions of poverty, drug abuse, and prostitution. The story overshadows the actual sex scenes so much that many readers find it impossible to use it for its original purpose, leaving behind a story which many consider to be as well written as it is shocking and deeply depressing.
• Might As Well Cheat is a light novel with a manga version about a construction worker turned potion maker named Tarou (later Tauro) who only enacts this trope when he isn't using his divinity granted skill to solve a magic drug use problem.
• Nana & Kaoru features bondage, S&M play, and titillating Ecchi manga silliness. It also features clichéd but interesting characters who slowly come to terms with the fact that they actively enjoy playing Master/Slave bondage games while still remaining otherwise normal people.
• Octave is a moving story of love, jealousy, and what happens to the people that stardom leaves behind. Replacing the large amounts of lesbian sex with Sexy Discretion Shots (and changing the flashbacks) would leave you with a complete story, but with less impact.
• Omujo Omutsu Joshi earns a place here not due to any explicit sex or nudity, of which it has none over its first dozen-plus chapters, but because what it does have, in abundance, is fanservice geared towards diaper and pee fetishes which serves much the same purpose. Panty shots, or, to be more precise, diaper shots abound and Potty Failure occurs Once an Episode. Minus that, the actual story is much like any typical Harem Genre work, with male lead Shouta interacting with a Shrinking Violet, a Childhood Friend, and a Lovable Sex Maniac.
• Peace Hame (Pisu Hame) could've easily been another Cliché Storm of a Harem anime given the protagonist is tasked with making a porn portfolio of the girls he has sex with as the official school yearbook. Refreshingly instead, it follows the exact same story structure of a typical Shonen story among other shout-outs to be a legitimately funny, heartwarming, and especially awesome Affectionate Parody series with the challenges to win each girl parodying everything from Yu-Gi-Oh! to Bleach to the climax being a no-holds-barred wrestling match against the Big Bad with Tamao not only wearing a certain stylized singlet, but using the "Five-Star Tamao Splash" with teenage Distaff Counterpart versions of Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler on commentary! Sites like Fakku naturally ran with this to make up names for Tamao appearing to achieve Bankai with a Raging Stiffie in place of a sword as the hentai equivalent of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
• The manhwa Perfect Half takes place in a world where the genders are segregated and at war. Most people have never seen a member of the opposite gender except on the battlefield. People can get captured for breeding purposes, and the sides have occasional truces to breed the next generation. There is of course a lot of sex, a bit of soldiers falling in love with their opposite numbers, and both leaders controlling conspiracies.
• The Perks of Working in the Black Magic Industry has Franz, rapidly approaching the time for his graduation ceremony, try, and fail, to get a job no less than 34 times, and he must get one before he graduates, or else... As a last resort, his dorm mother, Lisa, pulls some strings and gets him in touch with Black Magic Inc., a company specializing in the very unpopular "black magic." As part of the interview process, he's tasked with attempting Summon Magic. Not only does he succeed, his familiar turns out to be demon nobility, a succubus, and she's the least raunchy of his new co-workers, but it's still an engaging story, shining a spotlight on all the flaws of Japan's workaholic culture that is literally killing their nation, both in terms of overworking their citizens to death, and the declining birthrate, since there's no time or energy for either making or raising children...
• Power Play spoofs H-Games, by having Sudahama be a fledgling game designer, who's being hunted by three of his own characters (Maria, Eclair, and Nina). In their universe, ^note i.e. the game he created he's the evil "Sex King," known for raping countless heroines, princesses, and priestesses, and enslaving them with his sexual prowess - including them. But their quest for "justice" turns out to be pretense so they can get more. Despite Sudahama's growing attraction to his familiar, Sarah, it ends with all four girls deciding to live with him as his harem of willing Sex Slaves.
• The Ragnarok Online series of doujin by the circle D.L. Action. It revolves around the developing love between an unnamed Acolyte and a Swordswoman.
• Redo of Healer: This involves a guy gaining power to take revenge on the people who ruined his life and act as tyrants, while gaining a harem of sex slaves and having his way with them.
• Sakura Gari has plenty of sex scenes, almost all of them being between men, but it also has an intensely dramatic plot and many of said sex scenes are vital to it.
• Secret Plot and Secret Plot Deep prove to be this trope and live up to the titles, instead of just another Teacher/Student Romance series, as the teachers are shown to be pathetic, empty losers without a student to seduce. A Wholesome Crossdresser has a tragic backstory and complex over it until he gets better through The Power of Love. The Extreme Doormat / main boy toy, Masaki's weak will and free time is deconstructed to reveal it's due to his Abusive Parents only giving a damn about his grades when he just wants to be loved; the closest he gets to that feeling is when Mayumi gets a bout of Laser-Guided Amnesia and turns Moe long enough for them to make love rather than the usual wild fucking they have.
• Shlick Crazy Ninja (story and art by SGK) is an ongoing H-doujinshi series about Final Fantasy VII's Yuffie Kisaragi. The title is a slang word she uses for masturbation, which is both her secret addiction and the series' central plot point.
  • For most of its first chapter, it seems to be little more than a paper-thin plot about a horny young ninja, but it segues into a Coming of Age story about a teenager who wants to be seen as an adult. The second chapter reveals that she uses masturbation as an outlet because she's a virgin and desperately wants to have her first experience, which finally happens during a chapter.
  • By chapter 3, she's become addicted to it and has turned to prostitution to satisfy her cravings. Despite its subject matter, the series remains lighthearted and even comical, at times, by averting the dark aspects and potential dangers of prostitution. Instead, Yuffie has 'fun for profit' since her clients always treat her well and she gets paid with rare Materia.
• Slut Girl by Isutoshi is about a down-on-his-luck virgin meeting a Brilliant, but Lazy woman who happens to work for a sex-based company (virtual sex, but still). Although it has plenty of sex, it goes out of its way to give its characters actual distinctive personalities and backstories, and the story itself has tons of comedy.
• Stainless Night is a two-part OVA about an amnesiac Robot Girl named Linia who wakes up from a ten-year dormancy and is revealed to have the ability to short out electronics if she exudes enough power, having been made with technology that some unscrupulous people will do anything to get their hands on, plus she's being pursued by another, much more homicidal robot. She befriends a group of scientists who try to help her regain her memories, and in the meantime she works for them as a maid. That's the basic plot without the added incentive of the entire cast being female, the aforementioned short-circuiting power being triggered by Linia having orgasms, or of the budding sexual romance between Linia and one of the scientists which includes the reveal that Linia can grow a penis from her nether-regions.
• Suika. Three lightly connected stories featuring young people falling in love, reclaiming love, or admitting love. A few Tear Jerker moments. A bit of drama. And some quite hot sex scenes. Including one with Death. This itself is an adaption from the eroge Suika, which was created with the intention to be a Tear Jerker in the first place.
• The Testament of Sister New Devil gradually shifts from ecchi to full-on hentai in the original LN version. Basara initially tries to resist the sexual advances of girls living with him, but he's soon made to realize the potential danger to himself and his harem if he doesn't strengthen the bond of their master/servant contracts. He attempts to skirt the issue by limiting their interactions to making out and foreplay, until the situation becomes dire enough that he finally has to go all the way with them.
• The Titan's Bride: A Trapped in Another World Boys' Love story in which the difficulties in having sex between the two leads, a Titan prince named Caius and Ordinary High-School Student Koichi, is a major plot point. However, the worldbuilding of the fantasy world surrounding the pair is thorough enough that a censored version of the anime adaptation that cut out all of the sex scenes was widely released after the initial adaptation.
• To Love Ru. Barely short of actual sex (Momo's fantasies REALLY push the envelope), the Fanservice in the sequel "Darkness" is so intense that in Taiwan it is outright slapped with an R18 sticker and sold in such sections.
• Toshiue no Hito is a complex love story about a university student who falls for/is pursued by a seemingly young, tiny, cute freshman. Unfortunately, she's a lot older than she looks and has a lot of personal baggage. The porn part comes in later with the uncensored nudity in the sex scenes. That is, when they aren't being accidentally cockblocked by visitors.
• Tsugumomo is a story about a boy getting wrapped up (literally and figuratively) in a world of yokai, gods, and living inanimate objects, but it can't go one chapter without someone being stripped naked and having their body rubbed down, and the manga becomes increasingly raunchy.
• Uwakoi and Aki Sora, both by Masahiro Itosugi, are abundant with graphic sex scenes that show everything but genitalia. At the same time, the characters are all shown to be struggling with emotional and/or mental issues, and the creator uses sex as a way of analyzing the depth of these characters and their relationships, as these manga realistically explore numerous tropes associated with the ecchi and harem genres.
• Words Worth is a 5-part anime series, based on the RPG by ELF Corporation. The crux of the plot centers on the destruction of the eponymous monolith, which has sparked a century-long war between the tribes of Light and Shadow, who each believe the other is responsible. It also devotes much of its screen time to unraveling the truth behind The Prophecy that was inscribed on it^note "Only one of Light and Shadow may read the words written here and understand their meaning. Thus, the two worlds will be made complete.". It can be thought of as the hentai equivalent of Record of Lodoss War.
• Many of Akatsuki Myuuto's stories, while they feature plenty of raunchy sex and the moral ambiguity typical of hentai, also turn out to have a surprisingly refined writing, character development and emotional drama, complemented by some gorgeous art. Bishoujo Club notably has a long and heartbreaking epilogue explaining in detail how humanity lost sexual desire and became unable to bear children ("producing" them by genetic engineering instead), how men nearly disappeared, how the protagonist came to be born, and how the "school" (in fact a secluded community surrounded by walls) was created, full with politics and terrorist groups involved.
• The manga "When I Returned to My Hometown, My Childhood Friend was Broken" (Jimoto ni Kaettekitara Osananajimi ga Kowareteta) by Zyugoya is about a young man named Touma who returns to his hometown after college, and finds his tomboyish child friend Kyouko is now a sheepish and timid woman. The manga's primary focus from hereon is Kyouko's perspective and her coping with anxiety brought on by a group assault heavily implied to be rape that happened in College when Touma was away (and the trauma from the event caused her to drop out and isolate herself . The remainder of the story is Touma and Kyouko interacting, with her battling her trauma against her desire to reconnect, and Touma cheering her on as she improves herself and slowly finds ways to step forward (such as taking a part-time job to get out of the house). The story goes through numerous dates, an eventual engagement and marriage, pregnancy, birth, and then the two protagonists as parents to a tomboyish three-year-old daughter. You'd be forgiven if you forgot you were reading porn as all of the porn is at the end of 184 pages of plot, and the porn is of single-page pinups of Kyouko having POV sex with Touma (and it is barely 52 pages).
• World's End Harem is a post-apocalyptic science fiction manga that happens to have sex and nudity in it. Its Dark Fantasy Spin-Off World's End Harem: Fantasia still has a proper plot, but compared to the original the sex and nudity got dialed up, with the A-plot protagonist who avoided sexual situations having been completely ditched in favor of a Battle Harem setup.
• Yosuga no Sora does this one not as an OVA but as a midnight time-slot 12-Episode Anime. Unlike most networks who are shy enough to censor breasts or nipples, this one goes through the whole nine yards with no repercussions whatsoever.
• Yuria 100 Shiki is about a Dutch Wife Sex Bot named Yuria who runs away from her creator when she realizes why he built her, runs into ordinary college student Shunsuke who takes her in (unaware of her true nature) and lets her stay with him. She is programmed to be a Sexbot but doesn't really want to be one because as soon as she has sex with someone, she will be programmed to be their sex slave forever. Even so, she still can't stop trying to "seduce" Shunsuke at every opportunity, who uses his none-to-shabby amateur wrestling skills to fend her off so he can remain faithful to his ice queen girlfriend. Meanwhile, there is a pretty serious and significant overarching plot involving Yuria's contemplation and struggle against her own programming. Especially funny because, thanks to her programming, Yuria seems to believe any situation (be it treatment of bleeding, getting lost on a ski slope, or even being stranded on a small island) can be resolved with a Deus Sex Machina. Hilarity Ensues.

Comic Books

• Yes, the comic Cheat(er) Code is an erotic graphic novel, complete with detailed gay sex scenes. However, it is also a character study with the main character finding the strength to move on with his life after his relationship ends in flames and his self-actualization. The sex scenes do have more purpose than to simply titillate, they are used as Stock Visual Metaphors for Kennedy's growth. Kennedy was only having sex once a month and let his body go to waste before the break-up and each sex scene shows him gaining more confidence. The video game avatar he connects with the most throughout the book is the only character he doesn't have sex with, just being with him was enough.
• Demi the Demoness by S.S. Crompton. (As any entry here might generate flak, here is a suggested litmus test: If the character has an X-over into a non-porn work — in this case Pantheon — it probably falls under this trope.)
• Empowered began as softcore superhero-themed bondage porn (originally, it was simply art commissions Adam Warren did for individual fans) before Character Development and Cerebus Syndrome gradually kicked in. Later volumes became increasingly dark and serious, although never quite losing the humor and the bondage fanservice.
• Lost Girls by Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie is a fine example of this, as Dorothy, Alice and Wendy get together and relate their amorous histories. What's interesting is that despite the critical prestige the graphic novel received, Moore not only had no compunctions with it being porn, he insisted that it was porn (not "highbrow erotica") and that the whole intent was to elevate pornography into something that could be artistically and intellectually challenging.
• Money Shot: The series isn't just about sex with aliens, but it's focused on exploring sex as well as being character-focused. The art doesn't raise the level of explicitness above the "R" rating (there's no penetration actually being shown), but there's bare breasts, complete with nipples and Male Frontal Nudity.
• Omaha the Cat Dancer is a classic example of plot with porn, having evolved from a mostly sex-based comic to a full-fledged soap opera comic with uncensored sex scenes over time. The series did have a tendency to go from a porn comic, to a plot with porn, back to pretty much straight porn at the drop of a hat again.
• The same could be said of Phil Foglio's XXXenophile, except that it has a humorous tone and no Mind Screws (... well, for the most part).
• Ironwood combines a standard fantasy quest storyline with hardcore sex. The writer Bill Willingham even commented that at times it was hard to insert each issue's obligatory sex scene without breaking the flow of the story.
• The Piano Tuner, by Ignacio Noe, is a collection of short stories about the sexual misadventures of the eponymous character as he makes house calls. It's really quite hilarious and reads more like a gag comic with a couple of pages of explicit sex in every story. Witness as he runs through the street naked being chased by a television producer (his latest conquest was the star). "I never did tune that piano..."
• Many, many comics from legendary Milo Manara, and as well the great Horacio Altuna. In fact, this appears to be relatively common in the French, and to a lesser extent, Italian comic scenes.
• Italian fumetti, in general, are porn, but so bizarre and just plain weird, that sometimes you can't help but follow. Druuna by Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri is a notable example. It generally takes place in some sort of Sci-Fi-esque post-apocalyptic Crapsack World with some pseudophilosophy and Mind Screw thrown in but is mostly just an excuse to feature its buxom female lead in various erotic situations.
• With a title like Sex Criminals it's hardly surprising the comic features uncensored sex, but it also has a surprisingly complex plot about two people who discover they can stop time with their orgasms and proceed to use it to commit crimes, along with going into a lot of detail about the female main character's experiences in learning about her sexuality growing up.
• The furry military sci-fi parody comic Tank Vixens, about an all-female (and mostly lesbian) battalion specialized in "psychological warfare".
• Vanya the Lost Warrior is a comic-book series about time-travellers from the future trying to survive after an alien invasion drives them to flee into the prehistoric past. When they're not running from danger, fighting off predators, or hunting for food, the main characters are often screwing, simply because there's not much else for them to do.
• Zero at the Bone by Jane Seville is a thriller about the witness to a mob hit and the assassin sent to kill him. It's also a gay erotic romance that uses explicit sex scenes to demonstrate the leads' evolving relationship in between the action and intrigue.

Fan Works

• Despite stereotypes, it's very common for pornographic fanfiction to have proper developed storylines which say something about the characters from the original work, and usually attempt to flesh them out. Porn Without Plot is only a common tag because the alternative is far more common.
  • This is also common in fanfiction simply because many of the characters involved already have developed backgrounds and relationships by the work they originate from, which makes it easier to write Explicit Content that also involve a whole range of people and storylines to choose from.
• Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom:
  • Militat Omnis Amans (Every Lover is a Warrior) involves Buffy and Willow as an established couple, in an epic adventure where they defend a fantasy world besieged by demons. And frequently have sex with each other (and later four-ways with two other women who befriend them in this world).
  • Two Slayers - One Heart is an amazing and extremely Not Safe for Work fic where the porn and the plot are perfect (though the porn becomes rarer throughout the story). It's no longer on Adult Fanfiction.net (link fixed), but a toned-down, no-graphic-sex version is on Fanfiction.net — the link now points there.
• The Cabin Fever fanfic Cabin Fever: Parting Shot follows the story of how Paul and Marcy's attachments to their own respective love interests (Karen and Jeff) gradually decay, eventually leading to a whirlwind affair between them as they comfort each other through their romantic difficulties.
• The Code Geass one-shot Kisses and Wishes is actually an examination of Mao's emerging sexuality pitted against C.C.'s snarky aloofness, complete with plenty of Belligerent Sexual Tension, masturbation and, of course, Sex as Rite-of-Passage.
• The Death Note AU arc Redeemer manages to balance copious amounts of sex with plots that actually make some kind of sense. Mostly. At the very least, they're long and convoluted enough that you don't notice if they don't.
• The Drakengard 3 and Kamen Rider Zi-O crossover story, Temporal Anomaly, tells the story of 2068!Sougo after the he's been Ret-Gone from the history of his world and is now looking to take over this new one he's in as its new king. Of course, due to this being the setting of the Hotter and Sexier entry of the the former franchise, Sougo has to go about this by seducing and making a harem out of the Intoners - the current rulers of this world, including the one that was formerly trying to kill all of her sisters. For every chapter that features Sougo gaining a new domain to rule over, expect in that very same chapter a hot and steamy session of sex with his lovers.
• The ongoing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim fic The Amorous Argonian Adventurer, which follows Keeran-Rei, a gay male Argonian prostitute who turns out to be the Dragonborn. It largely follows the main plot of Skyrim with a few notable deviations, such as the fact that Keeran-Rei is not taken to Helgen for an execution, and travels with a (growing) band of companions taken from the vanilla game and several follower mods, as well as entirely original characters. While the story does contain numerous graphic sex scenes, it follows a fairly coherent story line, and several chapters focus much more heavily on the story, particularly later on.
• The Fallout fic Vault 69 is a coming of age story in the fallout universe about a young boy who is the only male in his Vault and it's up to him to repopulate the human race, but he's not sure if he's up to the challenge
• The Fate/stay night fic Fate/Harem Antics is an AU where the 5th Holy Grail War commences with several extra Servants, and all of them and their Masters except Shirou Emiya is female. This will inevitably end with Shirou having a harem of 23 girls. The story explores their interactions, how Shirou wins them over, and how everyone will manage to defeat Gilgamesh and Kirei Kotomine.
• The Firefly fanfiction In the Cold Cold Night.
• Most Global Order of Law and Defense stories feature a prologue tying G.O.L.D. into whatever franchise it's crossing over with this time, then some action and/or fights scenes, and then a lot of sex.
• An NSFW webcomic based on Grojband, literally titled Grojband Fancomic, is a downplayed example of this, seeing as how it focuses way more on the plot rather than the sexual content. Regardless, the comic comes across as an emotional Coming of Age Story between Corey, Laney, Trina, Mina, and Carrie as they attempt to explore and express each of their own sexualities (especially Corey, who has absolutely no idea what sex is). While there are a lot of sex and masturbation scenes throughout the comic, nothing overly graphic is ever really shown as the character's genitals are usually off the page or censored through Scenery Censor (though the scenes in question are still pretty explicit).
• The Harry Potter "Mauraders fic" Into the Fire is a Remus/Sirius and James/Lily fic where Sirius is Triwizard Champion of Hogwarts that gets explicit later on.
• For the Hetalia: Axis Powers fandom, pretty much anything by Mithrigil and/or Puella_Nerdii.
• The Great Scott Saga, without the sex, could actually pass for a multi-part episode of Justice League if you replaced the rampant sexual escapades for anything else. Most impressive is that each character still feels like themselves despite what's going on in-story. Admittedly, the first part seems incredibly hackneyed, but the plot really picks up from part three on.
• The Takotsuboya K-ON Trilogy, a doujinshi series about K-On!. Also an example of a Dark Fic. If anything, it's the stuff surrounding the sex scenes that's more likely to traumatise readers.
• The controversial Kung Fu Panda webcomic, Better Late Than Never, which is a sexually explicit fan comic that takes the Ship Tease of Po and Tigress to areas the franchise can't go. The result is an erotic comic story with a touching emotional depth and suspense that feels surprisingly true to the characters as they explore their sexuality that the pair is too personally repressed to admit to themselves at first.
• League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Tempest Rewrite is a The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen fix fic, and as per the style of Alan Moore, there are several intense sex scenes that play an important role in both story progression and character development.
• The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fic Like Real People Do by ScarlettStorm is an immediately post-game story about Zelda getting used to having a body again for the first time in a century, and her and Link trying to figure out what happens after a prophesized final battle, and who they want to be in this new Hyrule. It's 22 chapters of fluff, grief, swearing, science, combat training, panic attacks, exploration of gender identity, romance, menstrual cramps, and two young people having fun... as well as a whole heap of sexual tension, resulting in several explicit scenes involving Zelda handling her libido, and eventually her and Link resolving that tension repeatedly and enthusiastically.
• The NSFW versions of the Love Hina fanfics Loss and Redemption and Aftermath: Loss and Redemption 2. The plot holds up so well without the porn that the author re-released work-safe versions of the fics, and they still worked. (Although the original versions are still superior, as the sex is used for the purpose of deepening the emotional intensity of the experience, not just titillation.)
• Slickboy444/MarvelMaster616 has three different pages for more or less regular fiction (mostly Marvel Universe), but the fics on the separate aff.net page have also got more than enough plot... and smut, of course.
• Miraculous Ladybug fandom:
  • One of the most popular Miraculous Ladybug fics, Satisfaction Brought It Back, is an AU story with no superheroes or other fantasy elements, instead involving the show's leads being reunited as adults by a bondage dating website. Outside of the sex scenes, the plot deals with both Marinette and Adrien's angst about wanting to move beyond Friends with Benefits but believing the other doesn't, as well as the impact on Marinette's business when Adrien's former boss wants him to come back to work and is willing to blackmail her over it.
  • Pouvez-vous me laisser entrer? is a Miraculous Ladybug fic which, around the halfway mark, becomes something of a deconstruction of the Ladrien side of the series' Love Square. What starts with Ladybug visiting her crush Adrien in his room after finding out he's a fan of hers and initiating a sexual relationship progresses into an exploration of the murky consent issues involved in a relationship where both participants are concealing another side of their life that the other is familiar with: as such, Marinette is shown to be eaten up by guilt when interacting with Adrien at school, while Chat Noir likewise feels guilty while on patrol with Ladybug, as well as fearful of how his partner will react if she finds out.
• The Misfile fan-verse web novel Misfiled Dreams has plenty of Lemon scenes, all of which are essential to advancing either the plot or the growing relationship of the two main characters.
• My Life as a Teenaged Von Neumann Device starts out as just a simple My Life as a Teenage Robot lemon fic, but becomes a Coming of Age tale full of action, drama, romance... and still plenty of sex.
• Although the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Periphery Demographic has more of a reputation for the usual kind, there are still many examples of this:
  • Beating the Heat, takes a straight-up porn premise — a plague of magic-induced heat that keeps spreading throughout Equestria and getting worse — and turns it into an action comedy as the Mane Six with some friends race to find a solution while among other obstacles trying not to get too "distracted" themselves.
  • Pablote's fanfics are interesting examples that are technically safe-for-work but are absolutely intended as porn for the Toon Physics and cartoon slapstick-fetish crowd. Sombra's Game is an action-comedy about Celestia and Luna saving Equestria from King Sombra, and enduring an endless gauntlet of cartoon violence in the process. The Sun and Moon are Harsh Mistresses is a Black Comedy about Trixie getting rehabilitated after her "crimes" in "Boast Busters"—and all the cartoon violence that entails. The most ambitious of the bunch, Breathers For Applejack, involves a curse that envelops nearly all of Ponyville in Mass Hypnosis, and Applejack must reunite her friends in order to defeat the witch who cast the curse. And the exact nature of the curse means somepony get inflated at least twice per chapter—with Applejack being the most frequent victim.
  • Pen Pals: Apple Bloom receives a letter from Babs Seed that pretty much says — in a way leaning towards the more "graphic" side — that she has hots for her. Apple Bloom takes it as a joke and comes up with an idea to respond that she has hots for her too. Soon, Babs sends a reply stating her excitement and an announcement that she'll arrive soon, much to Apple Bloom's horror. From there, Hilarity Ensues. A nice mix of comedy, romance, more serious moments, actual character development and some reasonable amounts of explicit content that isn't forcibly shoehorned into the story. Oh, yes, and incest, if you're not into this kind of stuff.
  • Romance Reports is probably the most well-known, with the majority of reviewers expressing some degree of pleasant surprise that a "clopfic" can be so powerful and contain such emotional depth, deconstructing and reconstructing cliches like "sex For Science!", one night stands, even the concept of true love and soul mates. Indeed, while the sex can be removed and still be left with a coherent story, it is a somewhat emptier one.
  • The Trixieverse books combine this trope with the Web Serial Novel. The characterisation and plot conflict are typically advanced through sex scenes, though in later books porn becomes more sparse and W.A.F.F. more common.
  • Xenophilia is another well-known example, although less of a Porn With Plot and more of a Porn With Characterization. It's a subtle deconstruction of harem-type stories, although much more intense in its plentiful W.A.F.F. moments. Assuming you're open to human-on-pony action, it's worth a read.
• Negima! Magister Negi Magi fandom:
  • From the same studio that made RE-TAKE comes Negimaru. It is five chapters total, and by the third, the porn very noticeably takes second place to the plot where Chisame is killing herself by whoring herself out for the sake of being the best net idol. Negi ends up getting killed by Chisame as she goes insane, and by the fifth chapter, there are only four out of forty-plus pages with ecchi material. Could also be considered a Dark Fic. It ends happily though, sort of, with Nagi showing up and allowing Chisame to sacrifice her memories of Negi to create a different world where he doesn't die. The entire story is basically a Deconstruction of the typical silly PWP Doujin plot.
  • Egg Belly, which has sex but it is only supplementary to Konoka and Setsuna's relationship, which is the focus. Weird name, great story... and Ch. 6 is mind-expanding yuri.
• Neon Genesis Evangelion fandom:
  • A Crown of Stars: Although there ARE sex scenes, the creator kept them deliberately few and little explicit because the point of them was showing that their relationship had progressed to the point where they could have a non-unhealthy life beyond sex.
  • The doujin RE-TAKE got a "mainstreamed" re-issue because the main plot (Shinji goes back in time from the beach at movie end and tries to do the "right" thing for the last 1/3 of the series, while Asuka follows and tries to stop him so he won't betray her again) is much more interesting than its handful of sex-scenes that often seem shoehorned in. Those who have read this story have comments that go from "better end than the original movie" to "they should make an anime adaptation of this story".
  • While it might scare off potential readers due to its beginning, Shinji and Asuka makes the frequent sex scenes a plot point and part of the character development.^note Due to Gendo drugging Shinji's LCL with testosterone, he gets more aggressive and during one of his arguments with Asuka, shuts her up by raping her (doublecrossing Gendo's plans who expected him to go after Rei instead). Of course, she gets mad over it and decides to not tell Misato but instead take revenge by using Shinji as an outlet for her sexual frustrations, reasoning that as long as he initiates everything, she won't have to take responsibility. He eventually finds out and takes issue with it; problem is, she saw his caring personality and fell in love with him for real. When they finally make peace and get together, they don't have much time to enjoy the others' company due to Asuka getting amnesia from an Angel attack and forgetting everything that happened between them, including the rape. This gives Shinji the opportunity to make a fresh start and win her over via normal means..
  • Six Days features sex scenes heavily, but all of them are used to examine their personalities and develop their relationship.
  • Evangelion 303: Although this doujin has sex scenes they are not the point of the story, they are fewer and they are always used for character development or examination.
• Nudist Queen, a Persona 5 fic in which Makoto is forced into a nudist lifestyle by Principal Kobayakawa, as part of a questionable ploy to distract attention from the Kamoshida scandal. While initially embarrassed, Makoto comes to genuinely embrace it, inspiring other nudists within Shujin (Eiko) and outside the school (Yusuke and Hifumi). While the fic is described as an unapologetic fetish story, it's also a solid adaptation of the Ren/Makoto Romance Sidequest with a reasonably compelling mystery regarding why the people of Tokyo are reacting like this, as well as plenty of humour that doesn't necessarily come from the exhibitionism part. The actual sex scenes are comparatively rare, and don't distract much from the more serious parts of the game (e.g., Okumura's murder, or Ren being subjected to police brutality), which are again adapted pretty well.
• Pokémon fandom:
  • Monster Mind is an adult Pokémon-themed puzzle game based on the board game Mastermind (hence the name reference), including multiple difficulty levels, a handful of minigames, and a surprising amount of customization. Each Pokémon the player interacts with has a unique backstory and dialogue, and the pornographic aspect has an in-universe (albeit spoilery) justification for its existence.
  • The ruffling of fur and feathers, though the plot does start overtaking the porn later on.
  • In-Universe example in Pokémon Reset Bloodlines. The Alphanegan Chronicles are well known for their smut content (only 20%, according to Gladion), but also have a very well-crafted plot.
  • Handle with Care has the simple-enough plot of Mewtwo and Mew trying for a child with all the tender sex scenes to show for it, yet Law of Inverse Fertility brings about surprisingly tragic, Tear Jerker outcomes that delves deep into the characters and their struggles.
  • Bangnam Academy of Sex and Survival is what you would expect and best described as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon meets Harry Potter and includes a vast cast of characters. It brings in a well-built plot on top of all that. It has a sequel series called Lore Of Unity, but that seems to be more focused on porn instead of lore at the moment with nothing written yet.
  • Pokemon Girls Hunter is a Game Mod of Pokémon FireRed where in addition to catching Pokémon, trainers can catch girls and battle with them (girls gain powers when they are caught) as well as use them as sex objects. It has a plot of the player having to defeat villains like Team Rocket who are trying to take over, and legitimate romances.
  • Ash's Adventure: Girls' Hunter Edition combines Pokémon Girls Hunter with the original anime. Team Rocket is very competent and very dangerous. Ash Ketchum still has his dream of becoming a Pokémon Master, but on his first day, he is forced to catch Misty to save her life, and struggles with the guilt that he took away her freedom, and the two struggle with their growing feelings for each other.
• The Portal 2 fanfiction The Punishment began life on the Kink Meme (and it shows), yet still manages to be an incredibly detailed and believable investigation into just how disorientating - and downright frightening at times - it would be for a machine to suddenly find themselves with a human body. Even the sex itself serves this theme, exploring just how bizarre, problematic and enjoyable the very thought of it is to someone who until recently never knew such things existed. It also helps that Wheatley is even more dorky as a human.
• RWBY fandom:
  • Take Me Home involves Blake's first time with Adam, as well as future encounters between the two. The sex is used to supplement the re-emerging relationship between the two, yet at the same time provide plenty of drama and internal conflicts.
  • Mafia Blake AU is set of Alternate Universe Fics where Blake never left the White Fang and Weiss never became a Huntress. Chance and circumstance force them together, where they unravel the lies that have built their existence, betray their families (literal or figurative) to ensure their own safety, and start a new existence where they are not permanently bound to the whims of someone else. Oh, and have incredibly hot sex to cement their somewhat unhealthy relationship.
  • Arcadia is a fic set in an alternative version of Remnant where Salem and the Grimm have been defeated and destroyed millennia ago. At the same time, Aura and Semblances have been sealed away and made inaccessible to most humans and Faunus bar a very small minority of bloodlines, who are forced to keep their powers a secret from shadowy organizations bent on either killing them or capturing them in order to study how their powers work. Remnant much more resembles our world then it does the Remnant of the source material; with the Grimm gone to the depths of myth and legend, humanity occupies all habitable land on the planet instead of being cooped up within fortified kingdoms. Beacon, instead of a school for prospective superhuman warriors, is instead an elite private high school. Most of our cast are regular humans with no semblance or aura or powers of any kind; only a handful out of RWBY's vast ensemble of characters have the powers they do in canon. The author put painstaking effort into this AU, with whole sections dedicated to Remnant's history, society, culture, demographics, character bios and stats, and even geopolitics. It is also a hardcore harem smut fic with explicit content and very raunchy sex scenes.
• Scooby-Doo XXX is a live-action porn parody film (93 minutes) that has Shaggy trying to recall the events of a stoner party he and Scooby attended the previous night. All he remembers is getting it on with a mysterious blonde, then waking up to find Scooby missing. So Shaggy enlists Fred, Daphne, and Velma to help retrace his steps by searching the mansion where the party took place. From there, it plays out like a traditional Scooby plot complete with costumed freaks, sight gags, and the obligatory hallway chase sequence. Oh, and there's liberal amounts of Shag and Fred railing Velma and Daphne respectively while they're at it.
• The Star Wars: The Clone Wars fanfic By the Sea has a good amount of very explicit sex scenes, but they only come after a lot of character building and emotional bonding between Cody and Obi-Wan- the sex scenes, in turn, serve the dual purpose of emotional resolution as well as just being sexy. Obi-Wan getting a handjob means that he's breaking through his longtime internalized homophobia, and coming to realize that the one he's fallen in love with also loves him back. This places the story firmly on the "Plot With Porn" side of the fence.
• The Supernatural story Last Chance (to Lose Control) is summarized as "Dean and Castiel have sex. And some other stuff maybe happens."
• The Sword Art Online fanfic Punishment of the Pontifex features the villainess Quinella getting resurrected after Kirito killed her, only to find that other than her still having a perfect, ageless body, she's been Brought Down to Normal (no powers, no control over the virtual world, most of her stats at zero, and she cannot level up). For her crimes, she is sentenced to indefinite house arrest and to submit sexually to a man once a day. When the first man comes, she learns humility and remorse as the man makes love to her as well as punishes her for trying to escape while explaining how her rule ruined his life. There is also a subplot of her jailer, Fanatio, awakening her sexuality after having been repressed all her life.
• The Teen Titans story New Tamaran:
  • The author wrote two lemon prequels. The first takes place shortly after the events of Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo, and explains how Robin and Starfire strengthen their new romance during their first attempt at making love. The second details Robin's first times with his past lovers, but more time is spent describing his relationships with them than on the actual deflowering.
  • The author also wrote prequel origin stories for several minor Teen Titans characters. Each is a lime with at least one sex scene that plays a key part in the character's life.
• Seducing A Hot Alien Prince 101 is a Voltron: Legendary Defender Series Fic by anonony that has Lotor and Lance enter a BDSM style Friends with Benefits relationship after Lotor joins Team Voltron, but they grow closer and eventually learn how to trust, care, and maybe more for one another.
• Monster in the Mountain takes place 11 years after Undertale in a timeline where Frisk never met the monsters until encountering Asriel Dreemur as the Absolute God of Hyperdeath at age 20. It's a slow burn NSFW fic that has them grow out of a belligerent and non-romantic master-servant relationship into equal lovers.
• The World of Warcraft fic Ethereum Gladiator is an NSFW example of wonderful blending of plot and sex.

Films — Animation

• The 1970s hentai Belladonna of Sadness is a cult classic for its gorgeous, psychedelic artwork, its awesome psych-prog score and original songs, and its developed, well-written story with feminist themes (explicitly ending with a call for women to be at the front of the revolution - not something you'd expect to see in a porn). It was also intended to be a porno, has some visible budget restrictions due to this, and a lot of very graphic sex scenes.

Films — Live-Action

• This appears to have been the next wave in the '70s; in 1976 the world saw Alice in Wonderland: An X-Rated Musical Comedy, starring Playboy Playmate cum mainstream actress (now retired) Kristen De Bell. It was produced as a mainstream adult film and has production values to match: solid (though not particularly memorable) musical numbers, actual choreography, and a reasonable attempt at acting on the part of most of the players. In fact, most of the hardcore footage was removed for a broadcast-friendly softcore version. Roger Ebert gave it a favorable review.
• Alien Sex Files 3: She Alien, starring Jenae Alt, features a woman who is really an advance scout for an Alien Invasion. She sides with people after experiencing sex and love. The ending also has great visual effects.
• Nobody ever watches Basic Instinct for the plot. (Something about a murder investigation, right? In fact, if the director had wanted to change it so that Kate was not the killer, all he'd have had to do was change the final scene so that the ice pick was not there.) Sharon Stone herself all but admitted to Conan O'Brien that the draw is one specific scene.
• Becoming Elsa claims to be "an extraordinary mix of graphic sex and emotional tenderness." Elsa moves to Los Angeles and discovers her true sexuality with the help of her proprietor, roommates, and new best friend.
• The Blue Lagoon (1980) features lots of underage nudity and sex. It's also a powerful romance and a very educational examination of human nature that delves into love and marriage, ethics and morality, religion and theology, and sociology. It was based on a well-written novel from a serious author. And was directed by the same man who helmed Grease!
• The Show Within a Show in Boogie Nights is the director's attempt to make a movie so compelling that his audience won't leave when they're "finished".
• Bruce LaBruce zigzag between straightforward pornographic flicks and actual films with pornographic scenes. Otto; or Up with Dead People follows a direct storytelling — if a bit artsy — but includes inserts of hardcore pornographic scenes in between.
• Catalina Video's films, despite being primarily gay pornographic movies, have gained a cult following for their substantial plotlines and multiple YouTube channels have even uploaded 20–40-minute cuts of their films with the explicit content cut out or censored.
• Caligula is another notorious example of this trope in its theatrical cut, which had a number of unsimulated sex scenes inserted, courtesy of producer Bob Guccione (of Penthouse magazine); Guccione had this trope in mind when producing the film, much to the chagrin of director Tinto Brass, hoping for Caligula to be the culmination of the 1970's "porno chic" movement. Instead, the film became better known for its Troubled Production, was slammed by critics, and became an outright Genre-Killer for the movement it was supposed to bolster.
• The Confessions of a... series was this with the subplots of the protagonist's relatives and their personal problems, as well as the build-ups towards the sex itself.
• David Lynch is fond of this. Blue Velvet contains quasi-consensual BDSM & voyeurism as major themes but used them as building blocks for a Mind Screw film noir. Mulholland Dr. had some pretty hardcore lesbian scenes, but in service to a tragically romantic psychological thriller, not to mention Wild at Heart...
• Deep in the Valley, where two friends (one a Nice Guy and the other a porn-obsessed pervert) get sent into a porno. It's funny and deconstructs some porn stereotypes. Also, one of the girls in the porno is tired of meaningless sex and wants to experience true love.
• The Dreamers, in which a guy gets into a relationship with a brother-sister duo amidst the May 1968 Paris student riots in France.
• Emmanuelle and its various sequels and reimaginings like the Emmanuelle in Space and Emmanuelle Through Time series. Emmanuelle in Wonderland is a musical. One film featured the title character trying to help a poor guy who mistook a one-night stand for true love and was about to get his heart broken. Another featured the cast having a deep discussion about the portrayal of Vampires Are Sex Gods in the media.
• Sort-of similarly, 1975's Eskimo Nell is on the surface the tale of an attempt by a group of schlocky British film-makers to produce a big-screen version of the legendary epic porn comedy poem (featuring an Amazonian heroine who wears down the over-sized manhood of one thug to a thread and then shrugs off his vengeful accomplice's repeated firing of his six-gun up an intimate portion of her anatomy), but in reality is more a genuinely funny and insightful look into British low-budget film-making of the time (leading cast member and writer Michael Armstrong was a real-life veteran of this side of the industry), glossed with some very soft-core sexual shenanigans.
• Lewis Gilbert's Friends became notable for its nude scenes played by actual teenagers. But the story is a profoundly moral, deeply Catholic work.
• The short documentary Hard Fat is a legitimate documentary about the gaining fetish (also known as feederism), the legitimate parts of which are inter-spliced with fetish appeal for those who have said fetish.
• The Horseman is a surprisingly romantic guy-on-guy porno about a married guy who falls in love with his farmhand. The porno even bothers to feature female characters and even a subplot acting as a Foil for the main plot about two friends who sleep together after one of them breaks up from a dysfunctional relationship. The characters all have good chemistry together, especially in the subplot.
• In the Realm of the Senses may be one of the most notorious examples of this, although many of the sex scenes are more nightmarish than erotic.
• Last Tango in Paris. Unlike Midnight Cowboy, whose X rating has since been revised to an R, Tango earns every bit of its NC-17 designation. It features explicit sex throughout, though no nude scenes of Oscar-nominated star Marlon Brando.
• The Libertine (1968) is not rated because it was made at towards the very end of the Hays-code era but before there was an X rating. It's about a young widow who discovers that her recently deceased husband was cheating on her and filming his escapades. Much of the plot involves her exploring her own sexuality. You are also shown bits and pieces of what her deceased husband did in the form of black-and-white home movies. Edit out the truly little full-frontal nudity that you see, and it would get an R rating today.
• The Nice Guys: In-Universe. Amelia made an expose of her mother's criminal deeds because she believed there was no other way to get the message out (her mom is a top Justice Department official, so basically, as Amelia says, "She is the police!"). Her producer, a porn guy named Sid, insisted that there be porn in it as "the commercial element."
  Holland: So you're telling me you made a porno where the plot is the point?
• Nymphomaniac tells the story of a woman who tells the Audience Surrogate how her sex addiction led to her current life situation, and in doing so, features some very explicit (hardcore) sex scenes.
• 1976's The Opening of Misty Beethoven is a sexually explicit version of Pygmalion/My Fair Lady. Unlike later porn "parodies", it is intelligent, witty, and made on a reasonable budget; it's also so well-written and performed that some viewers feel that the explicit sex gets in the way of the story. It cleverly makes use of its explicit nature not only to titillate but to lead the viewer into drawing uncomfortable conclusions about Eliza Doolittle in the original. It was so well made that it was worth it to digitally restore it for a two-disc DVD and BluRay release with extras that feature films don't always have.
• In the same way that big summer blockbusters inspire hack moviemakers to make schlocky knockoffs in the hopes that confused grandmothers will buy the wrong one as a Christmas gift, they also inspire pornographies. To complement the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, there came out a movie Pirates XXX (a Pirates of the Caribbean porn). Where it gets hilarious is that it was then edited into a softcore version for sale to cable networks that didn't run hardcore pornography. It is also among the most expensive adult films ever made. And then they made a sequel...
• From the other side of the Atlantic, we had also The Private Gladiator, which is essentially the porn version of Ridley Scott's, what else, Gladiator. Like Pirates, it also had very high production values, convincing but not-quite stellar acting and choreography, a serious plotline that actually follows the original film (with tweaks that give the hero Maximus a happy ending instead of being killed), accurate set piece props (including costumes and weapons!), and raunchy sex scenes fitting for the Romans living in that era. In fact, it was made into a trilogy to finish the whole story.
• The Room (2003) manages to cross this over with Ikea Erotica, unbelievably. Porn with a very convoluted plot too. Was there really a need for the sex scenes to be 5 minutes long? No.
• Room in Rome, in which a woman from Spain and a woman from Russia meet in Rome and have a one-night stand. The women discuss art, literature, and their lives, but it soon becomes clear that one or both is lying.
• There is a porn parody of Scooby-Doo simply titled Scooby-Doo, An XXX Parody, which doesn't include the eponymous dog (thank God, that could have only ended badly). What's weird about this movie is how PERFECTLY they managed to capture the whole essence of the show. Not only does each porn actor play their roles to match the characters, but they even resemble them physically! The plot is not unlike an original Scooby-Doo series episode, and they even run through different doors while escaping at one point.
  • There is a Batman (1966) parody in the same series with a similar eye for detail. They even went so far as to have the actor playing The Joker grow a mustache in emulation of Caesar Romero.
  • In a similar vein, Tarzan, A Gay Parody has many MythologyGags for the franchise (ex: Tarzan's iconic roar, "Me, Tarzan, you X" etc.), beautiful scenery shots and a passable story about a couple and their friend getting stranded on the island that Tarzan is on. The sex is even factored into the ending in which the friend stays on the island.
• There is an X-Files porno where Mulder and Scully investigate a murderous cult that reveres Lilith. Aside from the porn, it sounds like a real episode of The X-Files. The porn is appropriately titled The Sex Files.
  • There was, in fact, an entire series called The Sex Files, and while the degree to which the plots could have fit as real episodes (excepting the sex bits) varies, they tended to have coherent plots.
• Sex Trek is a porn movie with Expys of the Star Trek: TOS cast getting it on in many ways on the Starship Intercourse. And in between, there is a plot, the exposition of which is laced with impressive double entendres and self-deprecating humor. The first two minutes (SFW) are on YouTube. It's pretty impressive, and a good example of how these films work well as parodies even if the hanky-panky bits are cut.
  Captain: (escorting the hot alien chick around the ship) As you can see, the rumors that we just walk through the exact same corridor over and over just to make it look like a bigger ship are false.
  • Sex Trek has better special effects and a more coherent plot than the original.
• Shortbus and Nine Songs are both borderline cases. They are both critically well-regarded but are marketed around featuring real sex. They both also differ from similar art-house movies in that the sex is simply there, and not a way to create more drama.
• In an extremely sick and twisted way, exploitation films The Sinful Dwarf and Thriller: A Cruel Picture would both qualify. Same goes for films that deal with the more disturbing paraphilias, like Nekromantik, Slaughtered Vomit Dolls or Feed.
• The Show Within a Show of Blake Edwards' S.O.B. is a softcore version. We don't get to see much of the actual sex (since S.O.B. is rated R), but we do (briefly) get to see Julie Andrews' boobies^note as her character refers to them after being given a sedative to calm her jitters. In-universe, she's doing the show to break from her wholesome-girl typecasting; she's playing herself.
• Surprisingly, Showgirls was supposed to be this... It... fell a little short of their dreams.
• The Story Of O, in which a woman is turned into a Sex Slave and comes to enjoy it.
• Teenage Lesbian is a autobiographical Coming Of Age Queer Romance - with adult film performers playing teenagers and having explicit sex.
• Virtual Girl (1998). A man enters virtual reality and has a tryst with a simulated woman. He tries to break off the relationship, but she turns out to be: sentient, a Yandere and can affect the real world.
• Virtual Vegas (2001). A woman creates a virtual reality system for sex with simulated people. Her Corrupt Corporate Executive boss fires her so he can keep the profits for himself, then hires thugs to try to kill her. The woman warns that the device needs to be assessed before it is marketed, which is proven when one guy who uses it goes into a coma. Also, a guy who uses it gets chewed out by his girlfriend for cheating on her, and he tries to claim that it's not cheating because the women are not real.
• Wasteland is a surprisingly sad girl-on-girl flick about a young woman who tries to reconnect with her high-school girlfriend, only to learn that said girlfriend is more interested in guys. While there are considerable amounts of sex, both straight and lesbian, the bulk of the story is about the main character coming to terms with the fact that she can't rekindle a relationship that ended so long ago.
• The first movie in the Where the Boys Aren't series has a surprisingly elaborate plot about a porn director trying to get his staff together and (fruitlessly) getting some actual male actors so the movie won't have to be girls-only. (Which is what the series is all about, as the title suggests.) He also must struggle with his writer, who won't write girls-only scenes and refuses to compromise his "art".
• Sometimes the real movies could learn a thing or two from the porn parodies. This article mentions how the porn version of Wonder Woman's costume looked infinitely better than the version from the failed 2011 TV pilot (aside from being even more Stripperific than normal). They also mention how depressing it is that the porn studio has beaten the film studio to the punch on both a Justice League and Wonder Woman movie while DC and WB didn't get those projects off the ground until 2017.

Literature

• Ancilla is an ode to all things bookish. An ode that happens to be about a protagonist's quest for gnosis. And about tabletop role-playing games. And about coming of age. And oh, yeah, about BDSM, and the descriptions of it get very graphic.
• Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series started as an urban fantasy series and then turned into plot with porn... and then turned into only porn... and has apparently started to move back to plot with porn but most fans haven't gone back to check.
• Parodied in John Varley's The Golden Globe, set in a Free-Love Future where the audience expects graphic sex scenes in all media, leading to the actor protagonist performing a very... interesting... version of the balcony scene from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
• Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series, from the second book onwards. Or from halfway through the first book if you accept Rape as Drama as porn. Though only one scene was described (possibly two, but the second one didn't last because the man wasn't interested). The Plains of Passage was really bad for this, though — it had little enough plot, to begin with, so to pad it out, there were one or more sex scenes per chapter.
• Anything written by J.R. Ward, especially her Black Dagger Brotherhood series; pushes the boundaries emotionally and sexually.
• A Fox Tail manages to devote at least 300 pages to a story about a hacker unleashing a hostile AI on the internet, the government's attempts to eliminate and/or recruit him, and the AI in question attempting to kill its creator. Still has quite a bit of gay sex though.
• Fanny Hill is one of the oldest examples, being released in 1748. It is about the titular middle-aged woman writing letters to a madam describing her teenage and young adult years, most of which were spent in a brothel as a prostitute. All of the sexual encounters are highly detailed with Unusual Euphemisms.
• Fifty Shades of Grey, a trilogy of novels about a college student who falls in love with a billionaire. The books are also notorious for describing their BDSM intercourse in great detail.
• The Journal Entries by Elf Sternberg is a very long series of furry sci-fi stories, ranging from barely fleshed out (though it gets better if you know the characters) to heavy philosophical commentary.
• Kushiel's Legacy stars Phèdre nó Delaunay de Montrève, a noble spy who was born a "perfect sub" in an alternative medieval France. Cue lots of quite explicity sex and BDSM woven into the plot.
• The Longarm series of westerns: a plot that would be right in place in a Zane Grey novel, then explicit sex, then back to the cowboy story. This pattern repeats several times over the course of each novel. Similar series are ''The Gunsmith" and "Slocum".
• The collective works of Marquis de Sade (of Sadism fame), although they are less Porn with Plot so much as Porn with Continental Individualist Philosophy.
• Spellster: The books have some long, very explicit sex scenes (mostly between Tracker and Dylan), but the plot is definitely not secondary or non-existent, with these having amble set up rather than just being plunked in. Both of them also have explicit sex with other people too, and some supporting characters get in on it also. Many of these sex scenes last entire chapters or nearly that long.
• Smile of Condemnation is both a story of fetishized sex slavery and the social tension between a rapist and the victim who is conning him into believing she's her evil twin sister. (It makes slightly more sense in context.) The sex is more of a backdrop to the game of who will outwit who.
• The Teresa Knight Trilogy: The series, while it does indeed have a plot (which isn't just tacked on either), also features tons of very explicit sex throughout every book. A lot of this is somewhat justified by the story, but still tailor-made to fit pretty clearly.
• The Web Serial Novel Under the Oak Tree has fairly explicit and detailed descriptions of Maximillian and her husband Riftan making love. The webcomic version dials this back, opting for sexy discretion shots when things get hot and heavy.

Live-Action TV

• Spike TV used to show "Porn Masterpiece Theater" which consisted of cutting all the sex from porn movies to chop them down to 30 minute short stories.
• Forbidden Science, a show on late night Cinemax that has a very intricate science fiction plot, with lots of (fairly softcore) sex scenes.
• Ditto Lingerie, by the same authors and on the same network.
• Also, Co-ed Confidential is a college comedy with lots of sex scenes. Also on Cinemax.
• Showtime's softcore erotic anthology drama, Bliss. Pick a diversity...any diversity! Bliss has probably covered it. There was also enough plot it was able to be shown edited on basic cable channel Oxygen with a TV-14 rating.
• Short-lived HBO series Tell Me You Love Me epitomized this trope; mainly dealing with the characters' sex lives and crises within those sex lives, each episode had a buttload of sex scenes, with graphic depictions of both female and male genitalia. The sex scenes did serve a purpose, though.
• The American version of Queer As Folk, while softcore, probably didn't have a single episode that was safe for work.
• Femme Fatales, a Gambit Pileup of murderers, thieves, adulterers, etc. with lots of sex scenes and nudity. This show also has continuity despite being an anthology, with several episodes being sequels or prequels of others, or scenes and characters from one episode showing up in another. Episodes include:
  • "Behind Locked Doors": A spoiled Lindsay Lohan-esque celebrity struggles to survive when she's sent to prison.
  • "Bad Medicine": A criminal breaks into a hospital during the night-shift and takes a nurse hostage.
  • "Something Like Murder": A Trophy Wife has an affair with her female masseuse, and together they plot to kill her husband and take his money.
  • "Speed Date": A man exaggerates on his online-dating profile, and soon finds himself in over his head when his selected date turns out to be a master assassin on the run from her organization.
  • "The White Flower": A criminal lives in fear when a fortune teller warns him that a white flower will be the last thing he sees before he dies.
  • "Girls Gone Dead": An amateur filmmaker convinces a sorority to let him film them doing sexy things.
  • "Haunted": A film crew investigates a house rumored to be haunted.
  • "Angel & Demons": A cop goes on the trail of a Serial Killer who targets women, mostly prostitutes.
  • "Help Me, Rhonda": Thugs break into a house and take the wife hostage, intending to kill her husband, who they have dealings with, when he comes home. Her only hope is the woman she was having an affair with.
  • "The Clinic": A man comes to the horrifying realization that the medical clinic he is in is really an Organ Theft operation.
  • "Til Death Do Us Part": After a wild bachelorette party, the bride-to-be wakes up with a dead man in her bed and no memory of the previous night.
  • "Visions Part 1 and 2": A phony mentalist blackmails several women, the survivors of several previous episodes.
  • "16 Minutes of Fame": The contestants on a Reality TV show start getting murdered.
  • "Gun Twisted": A man meets a lovely woman at a shooting range and convinces her to help him rob a bank.
  • "Trophy Wife": A woman hires an ex-cop to kill her philandering husband.
  • "Extracurricular Activities": A college professor seduces her student and urges him to murder the dean.
  • "Killer Instinct": A female assassin is captured and brutally interrogated by mysterious figures.
  • "Bad Science": A teleportation experiment goes awry when the device connects to a parallel universe.
  • "Family Business": A Mafia Princess takes over her late father's operations.
  • "Jail Break": A prison guard from the previous episode "Behind Locked Doors" finds himself dealing with another attractive prisoner.
  • "Crazy Mary": Mary has been institutionalized for the murder of her husband. She tries to escape, determined to prove she's not insane and bring the real killer to justice.
  • "One Man's Death": When a man is murdered, his wife and mistress decide to work together to get revenge on the killer.
  • "Hell Hath No Furies": The lover of a ruthless drug lord is jailed and interrogated. Suddenly, three alluring but incredibly deadly women lay siege to the police station, slaughtering anyone in their path.
  • "Libra": A woman becomes a masked vigilante and declares war on the mob.
• The Erotic Traveler, where an art collector would tell her apprentice erotic tales of each art piece's history. For example, telling about a mask used in BDSM games, or an artist or sculptor having an affair with the model.
• Lost Girl uses sex as a crucial plot device; the lead succubus character Bo uses sex as a means of healing after an injection given to take the edge off her need to kill to feed results in her losing her self-healing properties.
• True Blood, an awesome, action-packed adaptation of The Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries with explicit gay, lesbian, bi, and hetero sex scenes while dealing with Fantastic Racism between vampires, werewolves, humans, shapeshifters, maenads, witches, and fairies.
• Spartacus: Blood and Sand, its prequel, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, and its sequels, Spartacus: Vengeance and Spartacus: War of the Damned. It's an incredible adaptation of the events around the legendary Gladiator Revolt, with lots of explicit gay, lesbian, bi, and hetero sex scenes.
• Several episodes of The Outer Limits (1995) have nudity and sex, usually to explore the implications of sci-fi stuff like robot companions. These include:
  • "Valerie 23": A man gets a Robot Girl as a companion. After they inevitably have sex, she becomes a Yandere after he tries to date his therapist.
  • "Caught in the Act": A woman (Alyssa Milano) gets possessed by an alien. She seduces men, then consumes them after sex.
  • "Paradise": The sheriff investigates when old women from a retirement home go missing, and mysterious, beautiful women seduce men, then undergo Rapid Aging.
  • "Bits of Love": The last survivor of a nuclear war survives in an underground bunker with holograms (including one played by Natasha Henstridge) as companions. He can even interact with them intimately with virtual reality. He soon learns the cost of treating his companions with disrespect.
  • "The Human Operators": Sentient space ships keep humans as slaves. Two slaves are commanded to mate and breed the next generation of slaves. A rebellion is inevitable.
  • "Mary 25": A sequel to "Valerie 23". Although the robot company was disgraced by the Valerie 23 incident, they assure people that they've worked the bugs out of their other models. A robot girl is hired as a nanny and maid for a family. She ends up having an affair with the husband.
  • "Flower Child": An alien plant takes human form and seduces men.
  • "Lithia": A soldier is awakened from cryogenic stasis to find that he is the only man in a world ruled by women. He has sex with two of them.
  • The episodes "Caught in the Act", "Bits of Love", "Valerie 23", "The Human Operators", and "Flower Child" were packaged in a DVD collection titled The Outer Limits - Sex & Science Fiction Collection.
• Game of Thrones deserves a mention at least from the opinions of critics who coined the phrase "Sexposition" to refer to how the plot and characters get advanced through dialog during sex scenes. For bonus points, the day job of the extras working as prostitutes in the show's brothels, is as a porn star. In general, though, this reputation is highly exaggerated, since it focuses far more on political scheming and warfare.
• Masters of Sex has even more Explicit Content than Game of Thrones, but given critics' response, it's clearly doing something right.
• If the aforementioned Masters Of Sex counts, then Sex Education most definitely does. Much like Masters Of Sex, its very premise makes very explicit sex scenes and discussions about sex not only excusable, but necessary. Said premise is as follows: two highschoolers, son of a sex therapist who learned a thing or two from his mother, and brilliant girl from a troubled background, start a business in which he provides advice for his inexperienced and often naive schoolmates, while she manages his appointments. The overall sexiness of the show is, however, somewhat mitigated by the fact that the show focuses on sex lives of teenagers, and doesn't particularly care about being titillating — a lot of the sex scenes in the show end badly and are more Played for Laughs than anything.
• In-Universe in Barney Miller when Harris is commissioned by the NYPD to produce a porn movie in order for them to get a handle on how the porn business works. When he screens Four Women ("Two and Three were taken!") for the squad, it takes an hour to get to the sex scene.

Music

• Hentaigrind bands like Jig-Al, Gokkun, Go-Zen and Anal Kudasai basically applied this trope to grindcore (just replace 'plot' with 'music' and you'll get a pretty accurate description of those bands' music). Their album covers and lyrics are extremely hentai-laden, yet their music is chaotic, extreme Heavy Metal madness taken up to twelve. Oh how times have changed... (And no, their music goes beyond Intercourse with You.)

Video Games

• A Dance with Rogues. Pull every sex scene, it is still a pretty good story.
• The Amorous Adventures mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim adds Optional Sexual Encounters in the available interactions for dozens of female NPCs (and Farkas & Vilkas) from the unmodded game, allowing to play a male Dragonborn as a womanizer. It does so by adding lots of dialogs, many quests which allow unlocking some of the involved characters as lovers, and the quests to earn their heart are usually connected to Vanilla quests. Beside the "reward" of gaining new sexual partners at quest completion, there's also some moments where the player character needs to have sex with one of the romance characters to advance a quest (the "porn" part is downplayed, since actual sex animations require a completely optional third-party mod to be played, and not having said sex mod has the intimate moments replaced by a fade to black).
• The Bastard of Kosigan has several sex scenes (because of game limitations, they consist in explicit textual descriptions, with naked characters standing there), but they are all optional (those who actually are relevant to the plot or a quest provide a dialog option to skip the sexual part) and the story doesn't lose anything without them.
• The BLACKSOULS games are known for their labyrinthine plots, hard-but-fair difficulty, engaging combat... and yes, explicit sex scenes. It helps that you can disable the sex scenes (except in Red Hood's Woods).
• Escu:de has done a few intriguing stories with simple yet fun gameplay. Eiyuu X Maou, about a demon overlord bent on domination of a Humans Are Bastards world. Primaveil Zwei begins as a sailor-senshi/super-sentai parody that becomes progressively more character driven, deconstructive, and original.
• Fukai ni Nemuru Oujo no Abaddon, a Retraux horror RPG with a very engaging (if not gory) plot. It also happens to have sex scenes with every member of your team, so the sex content has a wide variety of pairings.
• The Platformer/Adventure game Future Fragments has a boatload of plot and storyline, boasting 25 pages of text, multiple cutscenes with plot, and pages of universe building, and that's just the demo! The creator says that by the game's completion, well over 50 cutscenes will be in the game, as well as over 100 pages of storyline, dialogue, and so forth, with multiple endings as well.
• GROVE is a gay adult furry RPG Maker game, specifically one using the MV engine, currently being developed by RegalBuster, a.k.a. GroveDev. After Grove, a Draconic Humanoid explorer and skilled cartographer, saved a wizard from a bandit, the dragon was thanked and rewarded with a mysterious contraption and a marked map, the latter of which is the only guide to its function. The draconic explorer grew curious over the device and decided to head towards the northern expanse, and the plot only escalates from there. This game features a good amount of background elements to its lore as well as a great deal of mystery over the strange magic that plagues the land which, considering that this is a furry game with a focus on latex, hypnosis, tentacles, slime, and general BDSM, should come to the shock of next to no one that there will be some explicit content relating to said magic. But the game does make a genuine attempt to give an engaging 1v1-style combat system, which manages to blend traditional combat with sex via Struggle and Grapple mechanics, on top of a structural narrative with notable characterization from NPCs and enemies alike. Not only that, but many enemy types have their own unique Game Over sequences^note which all feature the kind of content you would expect out of a furry-created adult game. Just be prepared for lots of Naughty Tentacles and other fetishes in the foreseeable future.
• Both Huniepop and it’s sequel have fairly light plots but make up for it with engaging dialogue along with deep and complex puzzle gameplay. It helps that the actual pornographic content is fairly minimal, limited mainly to dirty conversations and the occasional saucy image.
• The Last Sovereign tells an epic fantasy story about a war being fought against an Evil Overlord, set amidst a complex web of political, economic, and supernatural intrigue. It also involves a lot of explicit sex, and even more implicit sex, as an integral part of the plot.
• Love of Magic tells an epic story from a modernized Arthurian Legend, with a high enough plot-to-porn ratio that it probably should be considered Plot with Porn.
• Megatech Software is a (now defunct) company that published two video games: Dragon Knight 3 (otherwise known as Knights of Xentar outside Japan) is your typical fantasy sprite-based JRPG with erotic cutscenes, but it has more than a token plot since it actually requires you to keep notes on what the NPCs have to say, and it has enemies that require adjusting strategy. Along with above average humor. Cobra Mission: Panic in Cobra City is another sprite-based JRPG, but differentiates in that it is set in a modern setting. Like Knights of Xentar, the plot is interesting and fun with dialogs that matter.
• Night Slave is a PC-98 game that had side-scrolling action interspersed with some lesbian bondage.
• Oh So Hero! is a (semi-)gay adult furry Metroidvania currently in development by Full Frontal Frog, a team of furry artists and game developers created by Ket Ralus and Red Emption^note The former serves as this game's director, producer, and programmer while the latter serves as this game's chief artist/animator (since the team has since hired an additional character animator) and creator., or Ket and Red respectively. The game takes a simple Alien Invasion premise and turns it into a setup for a Tournament Arc with one part of Aeter chosen as the tourney's center stage, which a dragonesque contestant named Joe takes part in.^{Fun Fact}The plot was originating intended to play the "alien invasion" trope straight, but had to be reworked to fit Patreon's rules over non-consent. He roams around the Sheo Islands, beating up and banging all kinds of foes in his search for the Emeralds of Power, which he needs all five to win the tournament, and meeting all kinds of NPCs (who he can screw with for fun) along the way. The game has a seemingly light and casual tone in terms of characters and sexual content (however kinky they end up getting later on), so it's best to prepare oneself for lots of moments like these. Where the plot part of this trope kicks in is when Brask informs Joe about the aliens' leader, Kama, who had been spotted somewhere, meaning that things may get more complicated than a simple, island-spanning sex tourney. But regardless, time will tell since the game is still in its early phase.
• The Rance series of games by AliceSoft. While heavy in debauchery, the games also feature war, demon lords, ancient conspiracies, a multi-tiered hierarchy of gods, and a pair of talking swords. The lore, in fact, spans thousands of years, and in the final few installments, the porn actually ends up taking a backseat to the plot.
• Small on Top is a gay adult furry RPG Maker game, currently in development by Spedumon. You play as the Adventurer, a lapine Amnesiac Hero who happens to have a large..."carrot" (though this is visually downplayed to varying degrees past the early portion of the game). After the cutscene for The Promised Land's backstory, there's another where we meet a mysterious, flying entity. The same entity makes reoccurring appearances throughout the game, who seems to be in search of his master. When the Adventurer meets an alchemist named Lace, the latter takes the former in as his assistant in hopes of restoring the Adventurer's memory. After leaving the First Town, the both of them would go on to meet plenty of eccentric (and/or horny) characters and enemies on their journeys, with Wulfrick and Captain Fucko serving as permanent additions to the party. With all that being said though, the game does not at all hide the fact that it caters to gay furries, even having a title that heavily hints at size play — which there are plenty of throughout the adventure.^note One cutscene at the beginning has the aforementioned mysterious entity explicitly proclaim his desire to be fucked by his master, and one after that introduces Lace by having him ask the smaller slime monster to give him tentacle sex as he goes butt naked (albeit for contextual reasons). These two alone set the mood for what kind of RPG this is.
• Summertime Saga started out as a Renpy project and the creator wishing to draw pornography, but has since developed into an incredibly elaborate Dating Sim reminiscent of an old western-style Nickelodeon cartoon. While there's a lot of sexual content, which is part of the objective, there's a rich storyline involving a conventional Whodunnit mystery, dozens of in-jokes and Shout Outs, and a huge cast of entertaining characters, some of whom (Eve and Roxxy in particular) are giving astonishingly deep characters arcs.
• Treasure of Nadia — yet another RPG Maker-based entry on this list — is a lighthearted adventure game that apparently seeks to answer the question of "What if Indiana Jones was a horny twenty-something surrounded by twelve beautiful women?" It features almost 150 explicit sex scenes with mostly straight and lesbian content, but take those out and you'd still have a decent adventure with solid mechanics, a well-crafted (though not particular groundbreaking) plot full of mystery and intrigue, and a whole bunch of surprisingly difficult puzzles. The game is the middle entry of a trilogy, featuring a few recurring characters from its predecessor Lust Epidemic and ending on a Cliffhanger to its upcoming sequel, The Genesis Order.
• It is worth mentioning that not all Eroge are visual novels; Utawarerumono is a good example of a turn-based strategy game with erotic content, good gameplay and a good plot.
• The Venus Blood series is primarily marketed towards fans of Naughty Tentacles and corruption, but are also challenging strategy games with variable difficulty levels and lengthy stories about persecution and cycles of revenge. When games in the series started to receive International editions with worldwide releases, the sexual elements were removed entirely from the base games and must be readded with official patches, giving people the option of playing solely for the plot and mechanics.

Visual Novels

• Western VN Acting Lessons is an interesting example. Although there are several soft and hardcore sex scenes that are uncensored, the game is constructed in such a way that there isn't an incredibly strong emphasis on the sex to the detriment of the story that the game is trying to tell. However, unlike many other examples where this occurs, it wouldn't make much sense to simply skip the scenes or to add an option to play the game without them, as it would detract from the nature of the adult, no holds barred story the game is trying to tell.
• Like Acting Lessons, Being A ΔΙΚ also is less 'porn' and more 'college-based romantic drama where Everyone Has Lots of Sex and the sex is uncensored'. While there is plenty of sex and nudity to go around (primarily due to being inspired by college-based sex comedies), the primary focus of the plot is far more on the relationships between the player and the fraternities (and sorority) of Burgmeister & Royce, with a significant focus on romance arcs with the five main girls beyond the bedroom.
• Adastra (2018) is possibly the most detailed furry porn game ever made, with plenty of worldbuilding, lore, and shirtless wolves.
• Age is also very good at creating these kinds of stories. Perhaps the best example of their Porn with Plot work would be Rumbling Hearts, a romantic drama that goes out of its way to examine and deconstruct common tropes found in the genre. Their other big franchise, Muv-Luv, starts off as an intentionally light-hearted and somewhat generic harem H-game, before veering off into a post-apocalyptic military drama set in an Alternate Universe, wherein the sex starts being played for Fan Disservice at times.
• Camp Buddy is filled with sex scenes, but it also has surprisingly good romance arcs for each route.
• Three (in)famous games by ClockUp, in the following release order: Euphoria, Fraternite, and Maggot Baits. Both have lots of hardcore (but sometimes vanilla) sex scenes (and in Maggot Baits' case, lots of Gorn), but reviewers have said (especially for Euphoria) that even if you take away the sex, you'll still have amazing writing with Hamashima Shigeo's gorgeous artwork.
• Crescendo (JP) gives us quite the Coming of Age story not just for main character Ryo, but for several of his potential love interests. Yuka and Kyoko are particularly interesting examples.
• The short otome game Cute Demon Crashers is less Porn with Plot and more Porn with Character Focus. The protagonist is offered to have Her First Time with one of four sex demons, and it's less about the sex itself and more about her bonding with these strange people and becoming comfortable enough with them (and with herself) to actually go through with it. Consent and communication are treated as the most important thing, with once scene detailing Safe, Sane, and Consensual, and options to stop at any time during the sex scenes or even to reject the offers entirely.
• Daughter for Dessert actually has three different plots:
  • The sexual tension between the protagonist and Amanda that blossoms into a full-blown relationship.
  • The efforts of the protagonist and Amanda to save their failing diner.
  • Cecilia's efforts to pry Amanda away from her father by telling her things she's never heard before about her mother.
  • Echo (also made by the same people) started as this, but posterior versions toned down the sex considerably (by contrast, only became more pornographic).
• Dead End Aegis is a VN that takes the Ero Guro subgenre and rather than using it for simple titillations, makes use of it to tell a story that would not be possible otherwise. While the porn is a central aspect, it is used to deconstruct many common Hentai tropes and ideas and to really get into both the psychology and politics that most other such works dismiss in order to show just how utterly messed up a lot of porn focused worlds would truly be.
• Edelweiss — particularly Black Cat path, though White Cat path is also story - heavy. Black Cat path is so trippy, convoluted — and altogether FUN that you forget what genre you're in.
• Extracurricular Activities is a furry slice-of-life visual novel where you fall in love with one of the members of your tennis team. Outside of its obvious comparison, there's a lot more sex involved, but the game has just as much cute moments and touching backstories.
• The Jooubachi otome franchise started out as Drama CDs that were pure smut with a tiny bit of worldbuilding sprinkled in. Those aspects were well-received enough that a pair of visual novels were made that expanded on them greatly, focusing more on the political intrigue aspect and Cipher Scything the Featureless Protagonist-stand-in for the listener into two distinct characters, though still containing a large amount of sexual content.
• Kana: Little Sister is well-known for being an emotionally ravaging love story with an ending that is... bittersweet at best.
• Katawa Shoujo is an eroge where the romantic and pornographic sections are inseparable from the in-depth characterisation and thoughtful exploration of the lives of teenagers dealing with their disabilities. The sexual scenes can be skipped, but you would miss important plot and character points.
• Key/Visual Arts is well known for making games of this nature. Kanon in particular is notable for being the first visual novel to focus more on plot than porn, proving at the time that this could be just as commercially viable as Porn Without Plot games. Air was also similar in this regard, as well as the CLANNAD spinoff game Tomoyo After. However, other games like CLANNAD, Planetarian, Little Busters! and Rewrite are entirely clean, though Little Busters got an Updated Re-release called Little Busters! Ecstasy that included more explicit content.
• Similarly, ''Kyonyuu Fantasy''^TranslationLiterally "Funbag Fantasy". centers around the worst knight in his class wooing a bevy of busty beauties, but all against the backdrop of uncovering (and subsequently foiling) a plot to remove the current King from his throne and reinstate a hereditary monarchy rather than the newly-formed meritocracy, all with plenty of humor and clever writing where the main character is a Chivalrous Pervert but also a Father to His Men, and fully willing to look at someone's intent more than their actions.
• Lands of Fire is pornographic, but aside from a few sex scenes is mostly a mythological echo in the line of Aborigial oral traditions.
• Many people who subscribed to the developers' Patreon page for the sexual content in Melody ended up falling in love with the story and characters.
• Mice Tea is the story of Margaret de Campos, a bookstore employee in her late 20's who is struggling with dissatisfaction in her current career as well as her body, only to one day discover a mysterious box of tea that makes her and her friends furries and also has the side-effect of making them all devastatingly horny to boot. Despite the abundance of erotic writing and sex-based CGs in the story, the branching story paths have all been lauded by those who've played them as being thoroughly engaging and heartfelt, with the sex scenes themselves further developing the characters and their relationships with each other instead of being merely perfunctory.
• Monster Girl Quest. Despite the Audience-Alienating Premise (it no longer has a page), its story is quite deep and engaging, certainly much more so than an average Excuse Plot that you'd normally expect a game of its type to have, delving into topics such as Fantastic Racism, among other things, and even features a bit of humor as well. It's also one of these games where you are supposed to avoid the actual porn for the most part (lose against a monster girl and you get raped, resulting in a Game Over).
• Morenatsu is this, but it's a little more unorthodox; none of the characters have a sex scene until the end of one character's route (provided you made the right choices and didn't accidentally get a bad ending). Until then, you basically hang out with said character while you learn more about them, like their Dark and Troubled Past or something they need help with.
• The eroge My Girlfriend Is the President, created by Alcot, takes this to an interesting level, with the hilarious characters and deeply moving story, most people tend to skip the soft-core sex scenes so they can get on with the plot.
• Pretty much any eroge in the Nasuverse, especially, Tsukihime and Fate/stay night, to the extent that they made versions without the porn, though the fandom quite likes the hilarious efforts that went into fitting the porn into the story. The two mentioned works provide different sort of examples of this. In Tsukihime, the story is very plot-heavy but more focused on romance than Fate, and thus the sex scenes tend to fit into the plot naturally and tend to be part of it without being the point. In Fate, this trope applies in a sense that the sexual content is such a small part of the game that it could be removed very easily and it would make little to no difference at all. This was done in the PS2 re-release and the anime adaptations.
• nitro+ is pretty good at this. Saya no Uta is impossible to forget, even during the H-scenes, that this is a horror story. Demonbane got PS2 port and anime adaption without the porn, and its sequel is mech action game, without porn either.
• Princess Evangile has really nice love scenes between the protagonist and his four (nine if you're playing the W Happiness fandisc) potential love interests, but you could easily forget about that when the plot goes on for 22 (15 for the fandisc routes) or so chapters before you can have the option to romance any one of them.
• Private Nurse — Magical Girl, Healing Hands, Childhood Marriage Promise love story... sort of. It ranks up there with Kana Little Sister in terms of drama and story over sex and, depending on gameplay, can result in either a heartwarming ending or near-tragic Bittersweet Ending.
• Tavern of Spear has a cast of likable characters, some touching if not heartwrenching moments, and an engaging plot. The abundance of sex is just icing on the cake.
• Three Sisters Story has a pretty engaging story, and the porn is good. It's only the tedious gameplay that bogs it down.
• Tōka Gettan is this. Likewise, Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito. It should be mentioned that it and Tōka Gettan were adapted into "normal" anime series.
• Yume Miru Kusuri: A Drug That Makes You Dream — Another epic eroge deserving of recognition for being more than just an H-game. Dark, dramatic...
• YU-NO is the Trope Codifier for this in visual novels. Hiroyuki Kanno was an eroge author in the 1990s who wanted to raise the standards for storytelling in the genre, which was at the time filled with Porn Without Plot. He made a handful of games (DESIRE, EVE Burst Error) that performed well above average sales- and reception-wise, but it wasn't until his magnum opus YU-NO with its astounding scale, ambition and production values that the scene was truly impacted and transformed. It features sophisticated sci-fi and Character Development combined with plenty of other genres in a script longer than the entire Harry Potter series at 1.3 million words... while at the same time featuring a pervert protagonist, a Panty Shot in almost every picture with a female and one H-scene per heroine, some H-scenes obviously to fill a quota. Fans and critics generally agree that the eroge parts are the least interesting part of the game.
• The Anaxverse: A series of novels and games set on a version of Earth full of monsters and supervillains that corrupt people into serving them, specially using sexual methods.

Webcomics

• Banana Cream Cake is a fetish comic made by Transmorpher DDS. It follows the life of a friendly hermaphrodite bake having sexual misadventures while managing her baking business in the world filled with magical beings and creatures that deepen the plot with more than just sexual escapades.
• The Cummoner is a High Fantasy story about a new Summoner witch finding her place in the world by fucking more or less anyone she meets. Despite this it manages to keep a high amount of comedy and a deep plot.
• Sweet Guy doesn't even try to hide its pornographic and downright ridiculous plot (a nerdy boy gets electrocuted by a faulty machine and gains the ability to make anyone feel good by just touching him), but as time goes on, his love interests gain emotional depth and even fall in love with the MC, he starts to become better at sex and gain confidence, more side characters are brought in and a subplot is introduced about a corrupt company discovering his ability and their efforts to get further research on it.
• Kjartan Arnorsson's Program Switch is about a bull thug who gets sent to a lower reality by a mad scantiest. He thinks the world is a child’s tv show. So he plans on fulling the world with sex and orgys in order to make a big scene at his real world in order to tell the scientist that he’s still alive. The comic makes a brilliant Reconstruction of Furry Porn and goes into a lot of philosophy of the idea of bringing sex and violence into a world that never had it.
• Jay Naylor's "pornfolios".
• Tally Road cannot seem to have an explicit sex scene without huge plot consequences. When things get really hot and heavy, there is inevitably some sort of other shoe to drop. It's so Porn with Plot-tastic it has to be intentional. Anathema really deserves special mention due to about the same if not more time being spent on plot as there is on porn and some very extensive world building as well.
• ♥ is a Furry comic on FurAffinity. There are plenty of really, really hardcore fetish scenes, but they're handled with surprising amounts of depth. It's hard to find with a search engine, so here. This comic is described as "It WILL offend you at some point. Please let me [the author] know when it does." At the beginning it was just a "fetish of the day", but it really does have an interesting story. Granted, it'd be a lot shorter without all the fetish scenes...
• Ménage à 3 relates to the trope in several ways.
  • In general, the comic is somewhat erotic, while definitely having a plot (or rather, multiple ongoing plots). However, while there are lots of scenes involving sex, it's usually just a single panel or strip played for laughs; people, say, walk in on couples and Hilarity Ensues. The comic is also noted for its profuse nudity (although this is never full frontal); characters get naked leading up to and after the sex scenes, to the point where every major character has had at least one sex scene and has been visibly naked.^note In fact, the creators cut back on the nudity in later strips, as they were suffering serious problems with loss of advertising revenue every time they showed a nipple. Funnily enough, they still included plenty of sex scenes — just with more use of the Modesty Bedsheet and careful viewing angles. Evidently they correctly determined that the Moral Guardians have rather simplistic criteria.
  • The trope is also discussed by characters Zii and Gary, who agree on preferring porn with plots.
  • And there are also glimpses of the past career of Amber, an ex-porn actress (of whom Gary is a fan) whose work seems to have had some plots if only to support the jokes made about it by the comic.
• Werewolf series Peter Is the Wolf, to the extent that the main page asks whether you want the PG-13 version or the X-rated version. While the censored version can stand alone as a fairly entertaining read, there is character development lurking in the sex scenes.
• Though it's never shown, Rick of Blur the Lines discusses his plans to make an X-Tube video that is also a social commentary on the BP oil spill.
• Oglaf started out as an attempt to make porn, but degenerated into sex comedy pretty much immediately. It still alternates between sexy and hilarious.
• Curvy is this trope, big time, focusing as much on the complicated relationship between Fauna and Anaïs, and the absurdity comedy of the absurd worlds they visit as on the actual sex.
• Chimneyspeak features a lot of explicit sexual content, in the midst of a story about an international cast of ne'er-do-wells plotting bloody revenge on each other.
• Sunstone, a S/M webcomic. It is a sweet, yet erotic story of two women taking a huge chance on exploring their fantasies with each other (with a hint of evolving into something more). It is well-written, covers the psychology and ideas behind their S/M play, and explores the emotional highs/lows of such a relationship. However, the artist is releasing the series Out of Order, not in chronological order.
• There's an ongoing series by porn artist Lemonfont about a shapeshifter with an exhibitionism fetish (named, appropriately enough, Shapeshifter) that would be your typical fetish fuel material if it wasn't for the fact that the main character and her unseen "boyfriend" are written with enough wit and character depth to qualify for this page.
• Brazilian website Seiren has a lot of porn comics with plot, often serialized, and including parodies (such as Sex-Men, Fuckercats, and Chickens of Prey) and experiments such as conveying a story with no dialogue or sound effects. One story, a High Fantasy story where two criminals go to a magic land and have much sex there, was even pulled off the site because it was Left Hanging, and the oft-busy author is not willing to put it online without making more chapters to provide closure.
• InCase's Alfie (2010) switches back and forth between porn and the viewpoints of the titular character and her mother Vera, examining their distaste for their lives at current and their ways of dealing with it.
• Brogulls, which is a homosexual incest story about an anthropomorphic seagull who is in love with his older, bulkier brother. The comic balances out "porn" and "plot" really well, with more emphasis on the plot that manages to sway into porn without feeling completely shoehorned. Wilson, the sequel comic set a few years after, explores the background of the titular character and one of the newly introduced additions to the cast.
• Study Partners is yet another Furry comic that has quite a lot of emotional depth and character focus to it. The comic comes off as sort of a Coming of Age type of story that's so far divided into three chapters that focus on individual characters: Chapter 1 focuses on a Donkey named Jennifer whose treated as an outcast by the rest of her peers save for her Love Interest Woody, a horse, and a few friends. Chapter 2 focuses mostly on Jennifer's two close friends Lisa and Sarah, a Beaver and Otter respectively who are also a bisexual couple, and their relationship together. Chapter 3 focuses on Woody's friend Ragdoll, an elephant, and his relationship with an alligator named Angie, who has a mutual crush on him. The porn is heavily balanced with the plot, happening only when called for (such as in chapter 1, when Jennifer and Woody decide to have sex after becoming an Official Couple).
• Dina M Nealey's comics will frequently skirt this trope, even if it's usually more about the plot than the porn.
• Fairies vs Tentacle is exactly what it says on the tin: A race of hot fairies, frisky to the point that low sex drive is considered a disability on par with clinical depression, being menaced by evil, betentacled Fantasy Aliens who want to boink them all silly, but it's actually a fairly respectable Science Fantasy underneath that. The "fairies" are actually female persona'd, self-aware, self-replicating^note mostly, their reproduction is heavily regulated by both their government and certain built-in restrictions, bio-magitek terraforming drones^note although a big plot point is that they can't actually leave their England-sized island to fix anything, due to a large amount of sea monsters whose progenitor race wiped themselves out once they hit the Godzilla Threshold and nuked the whole planet from orbit, leaving the fairies behind to fix things later. The tentacled aliens are combat robots made out of transdimensional matter and regular water, left over from a race of Eldritch Abominations who invaded the precursor's reality five thousand or so years ago, and absorbing magic through physical contact is how they "eat." It's just that an orgasm generates mondo magic energy, hence the porn part of the plot. There's also a subplot about how the alien invasion damaged the universe in such a way that it created a non-branching timeline, and a local folk hero is totally a real person and playing Thirteen Minutes with that single timeline, trying to find an iteration without a Bad Future wherein everyone but her dies.
• CKarrus is a fully plot/character driven story with lots of action and fantasy/sci-fi elements, but is also a harem series that happens to feature near constant nudity and sexual content. Most characters never fully cover up and public displays of affection seem to be an accepted practice. And despite being a harem it has actual romantic relationships.

• Corruption of Champions, or CoC, an online text-based Flash game, is this. While there is certainly no absence of sexual content or fetishes, with near every single NPC having at least one sex scene (usually more, vendors and enemies included), the game as a whole not only has a fantasy plot, but an ongoing narrative (both overarching and smaller development stories) for certain characters as well.
  • Corruption of Champions also has sister game called Trials in Tainted Space, or TITS, which is a Space Opera where the son/daughter of a rich Bold Explorer goes on an Interplanetary Voyage to explore new worlds and species (which, being related to CoC, of course means you can bang them), all the while trying to beat their jerkass cousin for the company inheritance and your father's legacy.
• Tales of MU skirted into this territory for roughly half of the first "year" of the story; the sexual content has drastically decreased in the second "year" but still comes up every now and then.
• Stories put on actual erotica sites:
  • Six Times a Day is about a young man who is (falsely) told that he must orgasm six times a day as a medical treatment for lack of energy. It has over 70 parts (each part typically contains 5-8 chapters apiece) and is clocking in at over 3 Million words. So yea - Porn with Plot.
  • The Wulf Archives were specifically created with this trope in mind. The writer, Anthony Pryor, was repelled at how badly written most of the content in alt.sex.stories and wanted to show you can have sexually explicit stories that are well written. For instance, in the first posted story, "Heart of the Lion," the first major section is a wild Swords and Sorcery version of the famous Battle of Isandlwana.
  • The Black Pearl of Pharazion is a functional Swords And Sorcery adventure novel with the sex at the centre of the plot.
  • Summer Camp by Nick Scipio takes the classic Coming of Age Story, drops it into a nudist camp, throws in a lot of sex and swinging, and goes to town. It eventually hit full-on Cerebus Syndrome, aided by a Framing Device in which the narrator hears from his wife that a woman of his acquaintance has just died, with the story being a (120-chapter) flashback to his adventures with this Posthumous Character. We also don't know who the wife is as if How I Met Your Mother were an X-rated drama instead of a sitcom.
  • Melissa 2.0, catering to the Breast Expansion contingent, about a normal-looking MIT student who develops some body-modding technology. She has a lot of fun, but it takes a turn for the worse when the government finds out. Much worse.
  • Two Dashes of Mid-Summer manages to have considerable plot in relation to its sex. Somehow, this makes it an even better read.
  • Online author Al Steiner has written several novel-length stories that feature well-developed characters and intriguing situations in addition to having explicit sex scenes. Some of his better-known stories include Intemperence, which is about the behind-the-scenes life of a fictional 1980s rock band; Doing It All Over, a Peggy Sue story that single-handedly popularized the plot as a vehicle for sex; Aftermath, a post-apocalyptic tale that focuses on a community of survivors following Earth being hit by a meteor, and; A Perfect World, a science-fiction story about a Human Popsicle who was frozen following a deadly injury and awakens hundreds of years in the future.
• Erotic fiction website Literotica is devoted to user-generated content of this nature, albeit with heavy screening to avoid Sturgeon's Law.
• Writing.Com is in the same boat with its single stories and interactives, but due to the latter's ability to have new chapters added by members it can range from well thought out additions that push the plot along (with or without sex scenes), to being bad.
• While the "Naked in School" universe originated as Porn Without Plot and has seen plenty of that over the years, there are also a number of authors who've used it as a powerful vehicle for examining teenage romance, angst, and even the nature of celebrity. It's developed into a shared universe with over a decade of content and its own website.
• My Very Own Lith is a furry porn text-based game where you take control of an avatar with features of your choosing, and you take care of the titular Lith, a black cat of either male or female gender who you can do a wide range of things to, including the obligatory sex scenes that make it a porno. After getting enough points, you are given the option of handing your Lith a collar (The colour depends on how you treated them; Blue is for friendship, Black is for domination, and Pink is for lover, a mix of the former two). What happens after that is a plot that is regarded by players as being way deeper than a seemingly standard text-based porn game should have any right to have, with multiple scenarios and endings that play out differently depending on the choices you make.
• Giga Tokusatsu is a Japanese production company that makes pornographic spoofs of popular Toku. Where the trope comes in are in series such as Juukou Tokusou Dinnovator and Kyuusei Sentai Wakusaver, which have a few episodes available free, without explicit content, and could be taken for regular Toku shows. To get the complete series, you have to pay at the website — which drops all semblance of a plot and becomes pure porn.

Western Animation

• In the Futurama episode A Big Piece of Garbage, a trash ball is headed to Earth in the year 3000, threatening to destroy the planet. After no one knew where it came from, the Professor searches the Internet, and he finds an informational video about the history of the garbage ball, finding that the 2052 New Yorkers shot it off into space, and it ended up in a comet-like orbit. The garbage ball was launched by a man and woman in lab coats. Then comes this exchange:
  Fry: Wow! You got that off the Internet?! In my day, the Internet was only used to download pornography.
  Farnsworth: Actually, that's still true.
  Woman in video: *suddenly less well-acted* Now that the uh... garbage is in space, Doctor, perhaps you can help me with my sexual inhibitions. *takes off lab coat to reveal she's only wearing underwear underneath*
  Man in video: *also takes off lab coat to reveal he's nude* With gusto!
