At some point in the past, a Demon who murdered a child was about to be killed by the village before she began crying out for her mother, causing the humans to take pity on her and take her in. Everything seemingly went well for a while before the Demon decided to kill the Village Chief's family so that she can give his daughter to the mother of her original victim, [[BlueAndOrangeMorality believing that this makes up for everything]]. Frieren then quickly kills her and it's revealed that the Demon (who aren't raised by their family) only calls out for it's mother because [[WoundedGazelleGambit it stops humans from hurting her]].

Because of this, Naofumis' party of Monsters slowly turns into an actual family with him as their father.
