Notable tropes invoked by Noah Antwiler:

• Archenemy: Dixie Carter. And he's not an Unknown Rival, either: she's shot back (for God knows what reason).
• Balloon Belly: He seems to lose and gain weight rather frequently (possibly due to side effects from his medications).
  • Also severe food poisoning doesn't help. He said that after a six day stint of it he lost eight pounds.
• Caustic Critic
• Chivalrous Pervert: He's very open about his turn-ons, and never fails to appreciate the female body. But woe be to those who would mistreat a woman on his watch....
  • When Noah's romantic relationship with his webmistress, Scarlett, came to an abrupt and very bitter end, he refused to speak poorly of her or discuss the details of the breakup. He still defends her whenever others speak poorly of her.
• Different as Night and Day: Oh yeah, his brother Miles is much different from Noah.
• Does Not Like Spam: Raw Bell Peppers. During his Hell's Kitchen: The Game review, he took a bite into one, and the outtake after the credits show him trying to keep it down, even after he spit it out.
• Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Used to great effect when he portrayed a Black Lantern zombie.
• Even the Guys Want Him: Numerous in-character examples, but many of the fans who talk about how sexy he is are men.
• Fetish: For nurses.
• Green Eyes
• Heroes Love Dogs: As seen in this video, he very much wants a dog (about 18 minutes in).
  • As of this video, he got his wish.
    • "Oh hai doggie."
• Hypocritical Humor: In the second part of his Transformers review with his brother (not as Spoony, though), there comes this gem of a line:
  Noah/Spoony: Who the fuck has movie posters on their walls, really.
  • Hint: they're sitting in front of movie posters.
  • In fact, Noah has so many movie posters that nearly all his reviews have appropriate posters for that review in the background.
• Ill Boy: He has a heart condition, and suffers from depression (and a possible sleep disorder).
• I Need a Freaking Drink: After watching Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I. He rarely ever drinks, but a man knows what he needs.
• Man of a Thousand Voices: Noah has a good range for impersonations, his Christopher Walken is incredible, and he does a damn good Hulk Hogan Hoakogan, Ultimate Warrior, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
• Mean Character, Nice Actor: Noah in person is a lot less abrasive (and depraved) than "The Spoony One".
• Mr. Fanservice: People watch the show for more then his jokes....
• Mr. Fixit: He is very tech-savvy. He once fixed the Atari Jaguar CD to the point where it was briefly playable.
• Papa Wolf: Probably the only thing that legitimately pisses him off is when insults are directed towards his friends and family. (Given his fanbase's usual behavior, expect this to happen often.)
  • That, or someone saying anyone who is a fanboy is living an "idiotic lifestyle".
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: Between him and his brother, Miles, he's definitely the red one: loud, boisterous, and a lover of the spotlight. Miles is quiet, probably more responsible, and the voice of reason.
• Schedule Slip: Noah's myriad health issues and personal problems tend to get in the way, so much so that he doesn't even bother creating a tenative schedule for his videos any more.
• Shout Out: Tons, both to pop culture and other Channel Awesome personalities.
• Stupid Sexy Flanders: Would go gay for David Wenham's voice.
• Talking to Himself: Besides the basic 'exaggerated snarker persona' he puts on as "The Spoony One", Noah portrays a number of different characters on the show, some one-off and some recurring:
  • Dr Insano, a Mad Scientist alter ego who swiftly proved to be a Breakout Character.
    • Also his Vice-President, Fu Manchu, in a one-off appearance.
  • Gordon Ramsay in his review of the Hell's Kitchen video game.
  • "Curtis Craig" (or at least a "Spoony" version of him) at the end of his Phantasmagoria 2 Let's Play.
  • "The Ultimate Spoony", a parodic exaggeration of the Ultimate Warrior.
  • "Hulk Spogan", same idea but with Hulk Hogan.
  • Squall of Final Fantasy VIII in his review of that game.
    • The Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 reviews give us Tidus, Yuna and Sephiroth, respectively.
  • "Spoonette", a Valley Girl female Spoony seen in the Party Mania review.
  • The Gate Cleaner, supposedly the nephew of the Gate Keeper from the Nightmare VHS game series.
  • Spencer D. Bum (aka "The Spoony Bum"), a variation on Doug Walker's Chester A. Bum character.
  • Spoontock of the Klingon Empire in Angry Joe's review of Star Trek Online
  • Terl, the Campy Large Ham villain of Battlefield Earth, showed up in The Nostalgia Critic's review of that film; the character proved so popular that he then started appearing in Spoony's own reviews.
  • Simcoe the Magician in his review of Skullduggery.
• Think Nothing of it: He's very humble during his shoots, and (for all the needling he gives them on Twitter) very grateful for his fans.
