Mabus is a fan of many varieties of science fiction and fantasy with an encyclopedic (though not photographic) memory. As such, he has added multiple examples to many tropes. So far the only trope he's actually launched is
Mabus is very nearly immune to Shapeshifting Squick, Body Horror, and many forms of Nightmare Fuel, being something of a Nightmare Fetishist. If it creeps him out, everyone else should run! Note: recently averted with Dollhouse. Mabus, while still having a Mind Control fetish, now experiences Squick from it as well. He's still trying to work this out.
He is a prolific author of Buffyverse fanfiction, including his megascale unfinished project DeadWar
 . He's also contributed examples from (notably) Star Wars, Star Trek, and the works of Stephen King, Stephen Baxter, and Alastair Reynolds.
Mabus, while a decent guy, is also an Evil Soulless Fundie. Beware.
