that focuses on a group of, at first, Twelve new gods and goddesses who ascended via the act of deicide
. Each of them has their own quirks and is played by a specific forumite. They play using a point based system in which they start out at max power and earn a certain number of points, based on their divine rank, every saturday in real time. Unlike most games there is no win condition, the entire point of a lords of creation game is to weave a complex story and create a diverse new world mirroring what would happen if the gods really did embody certain principles and argue like children. - Accidental Hero: Almost all the the twelve starting players ascended via killing their gods by accident. Only one of them actually did it with the express purpose of ending a god's life.
- A God Am I: The entire premise of the Lords of creation game is that you are a god and so are all of your friends and enemies.
- Alternate Universe: Every one of the new gods became that way by successfully offing a god in their own universe, now they have to create their own and hopefully not screw it up.
- Always Chaotic Evil: Subverted, there is only a single chaotic evil god among the Original Twelve. There are two neutral evil ones and one lawful evil though.
- An Ice Person: Aeron, The White Queen, is the goddess of winter and has this power.
- A Storm Is Coming: Crux, The Broken Storm, is followed by an ever-present smoky mantle that occasionally turns into a thunder cloud.
- Background Magic Field: The new universe has one of these thanks to Gharda, The Old.
- Blessed with Suck: Margereta, The Charcoal Virgin, has mastery over fire, which she dislikes immensely, and loves the ocean, which she cannot go anywhere near without boiling it.
- Blue and Orange Morality: Quite a few of the gods are this. Crux, The Broken Storm, even speaks in blue and orange.
- Character Alignment: Of the twelve original gods their are four lawful good gods, four evil ones and the last four are a jumble of the rest.
- Cool Sword: Very few of the gods actually have weapons but Baelor, The Iron Tyrant, wields a massive sword that is as black as midnight, he used it to kill his predecessor.
- Deus Est Machina: Oxonj, the Synthetic Mind, is a deity that takes the form of a construct that falls into the Uncanny Valley.
- Desolation Shot: Aeron, The White Queen, has the winter domain but more surprisingly her portfolio is (Desolation).
- Endless Ocean: The world they were given to start with was entirely water.
- Evil Overlord: While there are four evil gods there is only one that embodies this properly. Baelor, The Iron Tyrant
- Fate Worsethan Death: What Margereta, The Charcoal Virgin, does to those who she "kills." Since death leads to paradise or reincarnation, she eats their souls and they remain alive within her, burning forever.
- God of Evil: Being a game in which everyone is a god, there are four of these.
- God of Good: As above their are four lawful good gods.
- Humongous Mecha: The architects, a race of massive floating factory-citadels that are controlled by Oxonj, The Synthesized Mind.
- Insistent Terminology: The gods and goddesses are always written with their titles directly after their name.
- Our Mermaids Are Different: They are complete and utter nuisances and are only kept in check by The Eternal Serpent, Leviathan and the Quetzalcoatl's.
- Playing with Fire: Margareta, The Charcoal Virgin, is practically the embodiment of this trope.
- Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: All of the players are odd and they have skewed their gods in ways that appeal to them. Needless to say this results in some odd combinations like the page quote would imply.
- Requisite Royal Regalia: Quite a few of the gods have this and it is listed individually on the character page.
- Sea Monster: The first fabled creature was created within minutes of the games start. It was The Eternal Serpent, Leviathan.
- Senseless Sacrifice: Hubris, The Glorious Lord and Crux, The Broken Storm are both capable of restoring their lost limbs, they just don't want to.
- Shock and Awe: Crux, The Broken Storm, is the god of storms and this trope is his thing.
- The Vanguards utilize electricity as their primary weapon.
- Shoot the Messenger: A retinue of troll diplomats representing Baelor, The Iron Tyrant were brutally murdered by Hubris, The Glorious Lord for being disrespectful.
- Spikes of Villainy: Baelor, The Iron Tyrant, has these.
- The Alliance: Oxonj,Yankeeyu, Crux, and Rassin formed an Alliance to protect their respective interests.
- The Nothing After Death: Originally the new world was like this after Gharda, The Old, created immortal souls. Syimi gave the souls a possibility of a true afterlife.
- The Plague: A rather vicious one was unleashed on multiple continents by Helkarava, The Glorious One.
- The Power of the Sun: Yanyeeku, The Benevolent God Of Kings, created the sun and the concepts of heat and light.
- The Stars Are Going Out: The Stars in this world are literally sleeping gods. Whenever a Star goes out it means another God has awakened. Theoretically if they all wake up there will be no more stars.
- The Trickster: All of the less-serious gods have traces of this.
- Wave Motion Gun: The Vanguards can fire a lightning bolt that can annihilate large swathes of land when several dozen of them work together.
- Winter Royal Lady: Aeron, The White Queen, is the goddess of winter and, as her title would imply, a queen.
- Wizarding School: Gharda, The Old, is intent on opening one in the new world.
