British actress, born in London in 1976.
One of her earliest roles was playing a young Diana Dors (a British actress, comparable in some regards to Marilyn Monroe) in a 1999
Made-for-TV Movie called
Blonde Bombshell.
Hawes' big break, though, was her role as Zoe Reynolds in
Spooks. During this time, she fell in love with Matthew Macfayden, her co-star, split from her husband of eight weeks (she'd already had a kid with him) and married Macfayden.
In 2002, she appeared in
Tipping the Velvet, an adaptation of a novel. Let's just say a
Yuri Fanboy would enjoy it.
Her most recent roles of note are:
Currently the face of Boots No7 cosmetics.
