* VideoGame/TheMessenger2018: The game includes all the requisite language options, including standard french. However, in addition to these, it also includes a seldom-seen "Québécois" version (Sabotage Studios is based in Québec City). This makes an already funny game that much more hillarious by giving every single character an exagerated french-canadian accent, rife with FunetikAksent and TotallyRadical. There are even a few Québec-specific pop culture references that are absent from all other versions of the game. Sabotage's next game, Sea of Stars, also has this feature.

* ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyV'': The translation for the UsefulNotes/GameBoyAdvance version reworks a great deal of the dialog for added humor and meme references ([[JustForFun/TropersDoItWithoutNotability Knights do it two handed]]) while playing up the LargeHam stats of at least two major characters. As ''Final Fantasy V'' never took itself seriously in the first place, and the previous English version was [[BlindIdiotTranslation horrible]], few take issue with it.

* [=YouTuber=] ''[[WebVideo/{{Tomotasauce}} Tomotasauce]]'' is known for doing gag dubs of ''WesternAnimation/{{Amphibia}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'', where [[spoiler:The Golden Guard]] is a child that loves doing Joe Mama and Ligma Balls style jokes who's main motivation is getting their [[UsefulNotes/PlayStation5 PS5]] back from Emperor Belos, Andrias is obsessed with singing (especially the Wellerman sea shanty) and Anne sounds like ''WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse''.

* ''Anime/DragonBallZ'': Although the Portuguese dub retained the original story and episode count, they added in tons of jokes filled with BreakingTheFourthWall and LampshadeHanging. It was probably helped by the fact that the dub director and voice actor, António Semedo, was a comedian, which resulted in lots of ad-libbing.

* ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'': In "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS18E22YouKentAlwaysSayWhatYouWant You Kent Always Say What You Want]]", budget cuts for Channel 6 force Krusty to voice act ''Itchy and Scratchy'' himself. Not only is the cartoon based on a silent visual gag, meaning it would work without voices anyways, it shows just how little he even cares about the series.

* The Italian dubs of ''WesternAnimation/SkeletonWarriors'' and ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987'' were both gag dubs. The former have the main villain Baron Dark cracking jokes and believing he's the show's main protagonist, while the latter (which wasn't very serious to begin with) added more reference jokes and fourth wall breaks than the original show already had.

** This was repeated with every single Western-based Transformers cartoon brought over to Japan, mainly ''WesternAnimation/BeastMachines'', ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'', ''WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime'' and ''WesternAnimation/TransformersCyberverse''. Unfortunately, this can be blamed for Transformers' waning popularity in Japan, since the gag dubs make the cartoons (even DarkerAndEdgier shows like Beast Machines or Prime) too ridiculous for older kids to take seriously. Transformers fans lay the blame for this at the feet of Yoshikazu_Iwanami, who is infamous for twisting shows with adlibs and adding "humour" to the localisation process.

* ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDPRwLlpdTU The Legend of Beavis]]'' takes an episode of ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfZelda1989'' and replaces Link and King Harkinian's lines with clips from ''WesternAnimation/BeavisAndButtHead'' (as well as [[WesternAnimation/BeavisAndButtHeadDoAmerica the movie)]], while keeping everyone else's original voice acting intact - since Harkinian is TheDitz and this version of Link is an AdaptationalJerkass, their lines still end up suiting their actions. There's even a FreezeFrameBonus wherein a mirror behind Link shows Beavis' reflection. Mostly sticks to the plot of the original episode despite the redubbed lines, [[spoiler: until there's a sudden ''WesternAnimation/Sealab2021'' crossover ending]].
