Furiko Maru talks too much. Usually when there's no one in the room. But that's okay, because that's how she plans some of her best dialogue, and lots of people seem to like her stories.

Her screenname is derived from one of her as-yet uncompleted fantasy novels (IN SPACE!, no less), where it's the name of the main character's spaceship. Got that? It's 'maru' as in 'boat' - Furiko is not a man Japan (though she'd definitely like to go there to teach English after university).

As mentioned above, Furiko writes books in her spare time - well, that part of it that isn't eaten by TVTropes. In fact, her main reason for putting together a contributor's page was so she could pimp them in advance on the fora (and call dibs on plot interpretations)

Furiko's earliest crushes were on James the Red Engine from Shining Time Station, Lexington, both Hobbes and Calvin, Loki, Kino Makoto, Wolverine, Gambit, Beast, Faramir, Spidey, LeVar Burton, Sir Parsifal and the Phoenix on the Conan The Barbarian animated series whose name temporarily escapes her. She supposes a few of those would qualify her as a Furry, but since she has a bizarre habit of being attracted to personality traits rather than physical ones she doesn't think it really counts (she freely admits she's got a nijicon, though). Her first 'real' crush on some blond dumbass in her class just 'cause he liked Star Wars as much as she did and her high school 'test-run' boyfriend are hereby declared Canon Discontinuity.

Furiko's personality can best be described as Haruhi, Yomiko, Mello, Beatrice, Shikamaru and Elizabeth I smooshed together.

When Furiko grows up, she wants to be Harrison Ford, because when you're Harrison Ford you get to fly the Millenium Falcon, fight Nazis, steal priceless artefacts, teach anthropology, make out with various hot people, and Sean Connery is your dad.

She will not, however, hunt replicants; she'll leave that to the Major, who is better at it anyway.

Also, if you see anyone talking about the manga Nora anywhere on this site, it's safe to assume it's her. Speaking of which, she's the one who recently put together the aforesaid irresponsibility picture's profile page. Go her and her shounen manga Ho Yay obsession.
