A series of unpublished (and in the process of being written) books set in a country called Kahn. A 17 year old girl named Fleet stows away on a ship and finds herself caught up in a struggle between Monarchy and Rebels which stretches back to the five tribes of Kahn. Fleet is enlisted into duty and Hilarity Ensues.Well sort of...The books are a loving and gentle mockery of slightly self-indulgent Fantasy books. While still (attempting) to have a relatively dramatic story line many characters are very aware of tropes at the very least, with some being Genre Savy. The books are told by a unknown narrator who frequently smashes through the forth wall to speak to the reader and comments on the action.Book One: Fleet's attempts to start a new life of freedom are brought to a sudden halt when she is forced to join the Rebels. We meet our secondary character: Tyrade, a young conman with dubious morals. There is an instant and intense dislike. The pair are sent on a mission, overcoming several perils on the way.Book Two: Fleet and Tyrade are split up, and neither is complaining. Fleet is at the Palace, trying to fend of various mentally disturbed monarchs while Tyrade finds himself caught up with people he thought extinct and discovering the truth behind the Kahn.Book Three: Enlightened Fleet and Tyrade find themselves caught up in events which spread far beyond the concerns of Rebels and Monarchs. With two new additions to their team they find themselves heading towards a seemingly ineveitable war and an agonising and unavoidable choice.Fleet suddenly got very important, and damn is it annoying.
