->"As the only female in Pazort's inner-circle, Kari possesses skills the others can only dream about."
-->-- VideoGame/ShiningWisdom manual, under "Minions of Evil"

TheHeart is often the moral compass of the ensemble and is good at reading emotions, resolving fights, and keeping an eye on the big picture. The Dark Chick possesses all of these strengths, and weaponizes them:

# They are nonchalant about others' well-being and experts at sowing discord. If she doesn't outright ignore and belittle other people's feelings, she may prey on them for mind-games and manipulation.
# She's also typically good at convincing others to do what she wants, either through feminine wiles, or as a ruthless middle manager that people are afraid to have to deal with. The latter is particularly common if she doubles as TheDragon; e.g. the other members of the organization really dislike her, but put up with her because she gets results or is needed for some facet of the plan.
# Her skill set and motivations may also stand out from the others. If the others are on the front lines she may be a support unit or a liaison expert, HoneyTrap, or spy. If the others are doing it ForTheEvulz, she may be doing it for love or loyalty (and vice versa for the really manipulative ones).

This character archetype almost always overlaps with at least one other, most often:

* AlphaBitch
* TheBaroness
* DarkActionGirl
* DarkMistress
* FemmeFatale
* PerkyFemaleMinion
* TheVamp

Just as TheHeart may be part of a PowerTrio with TheLeader and TheLancer, the Dark Chick tends to promote to Co-Dragon, or just become TheDragon of her team. If the Dark Chick is somehow related to the main villain, this chance rises to a near certainty. As do the odds of her leaving her boss, if his actions repulse her enough, for whatever reason, to hook up with TheHero or TheLancer, because FemalesAreMoreInnocent.

Having this character prominent adds a layer of the InterplayOfSexAndViolence, particularly with male heroes in action series.

* In Manga/BlackCat Echidna Parass, Villainous Teleporter and LoveMartyr to the BigBad serves this role among the leadership of The Apostles Of The Stars. The only girl among the leaders, and present due to her crush on Creed, she's definitely the odd one out.
* Aaroniero Arrurei and Zommari Rureaux are Rare Male Examples the Dark Chicks of Aizen's army in Manga/Bleach. Both are Token Minorities (EldritchAbomination and ScaryBlackMan respectively) both are far less than stable, even for Arrancar, and both are definitely weird.
* In Manga/ChronoCrusade, this role can either fall to Rizel (a DarkActionGirl whose tactics depend mainly on controlling people like puppets while the other warriors in the group are more direct) or to Shader (a PerkyFemaleMinion who doubles as the team's EvilGenius and rarely does any fighting -- and, in fact, doesn't seem to even like fighting in the manga).
%%* Both Kanon Maldini and Nina Einstein (mix of this and EvilGenius) from Anime/CodeGeass fulfill this role for Schneizel El Britannia.
* [=LadyDevimon=] from both Anime/DigimonAdventure and Anime/DigimonAdventure02. In her first appearance, she's the new Dragon to Piedmon after the other Dark Masters are eliminated, and both times she's really just there to have a DesignatedGirlFight with Angewomon.
* In Manga/FullmetalAlchemist, Lust, the only unambiguously female member of the Homunculi. She's also a manipulator on a team of arrogant brutes and sociopaths.
* Soi in Manga/FushigiYuugi fulfills this role for the Seiryuu seishi. She's both TheDragon and a FemmeFatale, and is the most sympathetic villain, driven out of love for the wrong kind of person.
* Franchise/Gundam:
** Garma Zabi in Anime/MobileSuitGundam is about as close as you get to an evil version of TheHeart and is the most sympathetic of his team, being a pretty boy beloved by the Zeon people (something which his older brother exploits by using him to rally support for the war against Earth). His sister Kycilia plays the Dark Chick role straighter as far as manipulating people and generally being a pain to deal with, combining with some traits of the EvilGenius. Uniquely for a Dark Chick, she [[spoiler:successfully usurps the BigBad, although since it comes at the tail end of the war she doesn't last very long after]].
** In Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED, Nicol Amalfi is this to the Antivillainous Le Creuset team. Combining NiceGuy with many traits commonly associated with TheEvilGenius, Nicol was definitely the odd one out on a team that consisted of a ManipulativeBastard, his stoic Dragon, a HotBlooded Jerkass, and a DeadpanSnarker, none of whom would know "subtle" if it up and bit them.
** In Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny, Cloudcuckoolander and Psychopathic Girlchild Stella is the Dark Chick of the Extended trio. Just contrast her behaviour with that of icy-cold Sting, AxeCrazy Auel, or ManipulativeBastard Neo Roanoke.
** Anime/MobileSuitGundamIronBloodedOrphans: Julieta Juris is one of Rustal Elion's top pilots and his surrogate daughter of sorts. She has her quirks, she's probably the most pure and optimistic of the inner circle.
* Miss Notch, the resident NinjaMaid of Manga/HollowFields. She is actually Miss Weaver's most potentially dangerous underling: she's a more loyal dragon than Mr. Croach, a more competent brute than Stinch, and, unlike Miss Rickets, . However, she also lacks malicious intent unlike the other Engineers, and follows Weaver solely out of BlindObedience.
* Kichikujima: Mari plays this role despite her disfigured face her sisters Anna and Kanna also to a lesser extent.
* In Anime/KillLaKill, Nonon Jakuzure is pretty obviously this in the group that rules Honnouji Academy. She's a tiny pink-haired girl with cutesy mannerisms -- and a mean streak a mile wide.
* Alcyone in Anime/MagicKnightRayearth. One member of Zagato's FiveManBand QuirkyMinibossSquad, she tricks and takes advantage of her own teammates and she never misses an opportunity to demean someone. She is also in love with Zagato, setting her motivations apart from the rest of the team's.
* Himiko Toga in Manga/MyHeroAcademia is the sole female member of the main part of the Villain's Alliance; add this to the fact she is a bisexual Yandere with a lust for blood and a crush on a HeroKiller, on the main character, his GenkiGirl best friend and their CuteMonsterGirl friend.
* Manga/Naruto:
** Tayuya. Foul-mouthed, arrogant, and strike:one of the least effeminate ninja the Sound village have ever produced (and one of the only females), she hates her teammates at least as much as she hates the enemy. Despite that, she's also the second-in-command of the Sound Four and a DarkActionGirl, based on the impressively kinetic face-punching she inflicts on the titular character.
** And Kin, also from Sound. Interestingly, she is the only character from said village who was not subject to any mutations. Pre-mortem, anyway.
** Later on there's Karin, who is part this and EvilGenius. Her teammates abilities are mostly purely offensive or defensive, but hers are based on tracking and analysis (with some stealth and an emergency healing power). She's also mostly there because she wants to be with Sasuke (a lot).
** Konan is this for Akatsuki: almost everyone else in the organization is based on offensive power (except Zetsu), her role is to be more on support and reconnaissance (though she eventually gets a chance to demonstrate her substantial fighting skills. Konan is also TheDragon to Pain who is the BigBad [[spoiler:figurehead]]. She's the most normal of the Akatsuki, not having any particular appearance quirks, fixations, or sociopathic tendencies. She's driven out of a genuine belief that they'll make the world better, and out of the memory for her lost friend.
* Manga/OnePiece:
** In Water Seven Saga, Kalifa in [=CP9=](Picture above) is a Dark Chick.
** And in Thriller Bark, Perona.
* Most of the SmurfettePrinciple characters in the Anime/PrettyCure franchise:
** Poisonny and later Regine in Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure.
** Viblis in Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure Max Heart.
** Karehaan and Moerumba are male examples in Anime/FutariWaPrettyCureSplashStar since Ms. Shitataare is the EvilGenius and the Kiryuu twins are the Sixth Rangers.
** Arachnea and later Hadenya in Anime/YesPrettyCure5.
** Shibiretta in Anime/YesPrettyCure5.
** Eas in Anime/FreshPrettyCure.
** Sasorina in Anime/HeartcatchPrettyCure.
** Falsetto, another male example, in Anime/SuitePrettyCure since Seiren is TheDragon. [[spoiler:Until he is promoted as the final Dragon.]]
** Wolfrun, another male, in Anime/SmilePrecure since Majorina is the EvilGenius and he's one of the more good looking villains.
***
** Marmo and CampGay Leva in Anime/DokiDokiPrecure.
** Greed Hosshiwa and Namakelder share this role in Anime/HappinessChargePrettyCure. They play the StraightMan to Oresky, who is TheBrute and considers them his sidekicks. Both are not too happy about this.
** Shut in Anime/GoPrincessPrettyCure since Twilight is TheDragon.
** Sparda and Benigyo in Anime/MahoGirlsPrecure.
** Bibury in Anime/KiraKiraPrecureALaMode.
** Papple and later Jelos in Anime/HugttoPrettyCure, while Ruru is TheEvilGenius (.
** Tenjo in Anime/StarTwinklePrettyCure, while Aiwarn is TheEvilGenius and it's anyone's guess on whether or not Blue Cat is either AntiHero or AntiVillain.
** Shindoine in Anime/HealinGoodPrettyCure.
* Ninja heir Kyoichi Kunugi in Manga/RealBoutHighSchool. His nickname, "Kunoichi" (which means "female ninja"), drives the point home.
* Lady Kayura in Anime/RoninWarriors, who's brought on to the Dark Warlord team and is much more competent and capable than they are. They begin to resent her for always one upping her, but she doesn't seem to care.
* Yumi, NeutralFemale and ex-HookerWithAHeartOfGold is only a member of BigBad Shishio's group in Manga/RurouniKenshin because she's in love with the psycho (who does, in fact, reciprocate). She's more or less an AntiVillain is a group of villainous fighters, and serves as a CoolBigSis to TheDragon during most of her on screen appearances.
* Franchise/SailorMoon:
** Zoisite/Zoycite of the Shittenou , especially in the anime's English dub where she had some serious schadenfreude.
** Mimete from the Witches 5 in Anime/SailorMoon S. She was definitely more concerned with meeting celebrities than villainous deeds. [[spoiler: Her constant failures led to Tellu eventually killing her by shutting the power off from a television program that increased her powers.]]
** Fisheye from the Amazon Trio. ShesAManInJapan also applies here.
** [=PallaPalla=] of the Amazoness Quartet.
** Esmeraude of The Black Moon Clan! She's vain, and she has a crazy laugh!
* Anime/YuGiOh: Mai Valentine is this to Dartz's following the mental breakdown she suffered at Dark Marik's hands, being the only female member of his gang, as well as brainwashed. Among the Big 5, Crump fills this role, having a pathetic backstory and a truly strange obsession with penguins (although he's a NotSoHarmlessVillain when it comes to actually dueling).

* The second Trickster in Franchise/TheFlash's Rogues. He's a TagalongKid who's one joke away from being freeze-rayed.
* Superboy-Prime never believed in the Sinestro Corps' cause. This led to betrayal motivated by revenge.
* Amora, the Enchantress, a villain of [[ComicBook/TheMightyThor [=Thor=]]], particularly when she was in the original incarnation of the Masters of Evil.
* Moonstone is this on pretty much every team she's ever been on, including the heroic(ish) Thunderbolts squads. Even if the motives of the group as a whole are pure, Moonstone exists in a moral grey area at best.
* Phondari in ComicBook/PathfinderWorldscape serves this role in Shareen's court, even though the BigBad and TheDragon are female themselves, Phondari is the most genuinely friendly of the court and ends up .
* ComicBook/ScarletWitch in the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
** Destiny in Mystique's New Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
* Wallace has two in the ComicBook/SinCity story, Hell And Back. Blue Eyes poses as someone's friend in order to seduce and kill him. Mariah is more hands-on and simply tries to kill him on the spot. There is also Maxine in that story but she works behind the scenes. All three women work for the same organization and make catty comments about each other quite a bit (Blue Eyes mostly does it in a separate story).
* Grey Smurfette is this in ComicBook/TheSmurfs story "The Smurf Threat", though she only has one appearance and the most that she does is antagonize Smurfette into having a fight with her.
* - Has a few examples like Tiffany an angelic bounty hunter is a very dangerous DarkActionGirl. Margaret love also counts alongside Hel,Zera,and Tar Merrival.

* Slipstream on the Decepticon team from Transformers Meta.
* Dementia from Fanfic/MyBravePonyStarfleetMagic.
* of the X-Trio in Fanfic/Pokeumans, who uses deception and subterfuge more than her action-based male CoDragons.
* Julia Nakahamou from Fanfic/ShinraHighSOLDIER is a rare VillainProtagonist example. She demonstrates a distinct LackOfEmpathy for almost everyone around her, is a ruthless and uncaring manager, and shows a disturbing inclination towards torture and murder.

* In Film/BackToTheFuturePartII, Griff's gang has "Spike", the girl who asks Marty Jr, if he has the 'scrote' to pull the robbery with them, and then grabbing him by the balls and lifting him off the ground.
* Film/TheCrow has an interesting example in Myca (Bai Ling), the BigBad's sexy Chinese half-sister (who was not in the original comic). She at first appears to be in the film only for Fanservice, and tends to come off as TheDitz because at first she makes a show of barely being able to speak English ("I like the pretty lights"). But she proves to be a MagicalAsian, having dark knowledge about the occult and black magic that the other gang members can't possibly understand - and it is she who divines that the titular black bird following Eric Draven around is the source of his zombie-like power, and nearly helps her half-brother triumph by kidnapping the bird, rendering Eric mortal and capable of bleeding when he gets shot.
* Selina Kyle in Film/TheDarkKnightRises. She's a spy working for Bane initially, using her feminine wiles either as a meek maid in Wayne Manor or a FemmeFatale party girl, to get where she wants and his only named accomplice. She's not above killing but has a soft spot for her one friend and children, and eventually pulls a HeelFaceTurn after falling in love with Bruce Wayne.
* The Baroness from Film/GIJoeTheRiseOfCobra.
* Film/TheHungerGames: Glimmer in the Career Tributes' group.
* Film/JamesBond has run into quite a few:
** Miss Taro in Film/DrNo.
** Pussy Galore in Film/Goldfinger.
** Fiona Volpe in Film/Thunderball.
** Helga Brandt in Film/YouOnlyLiveTwice.
** Rosie Carver in Film/LiveAndLetDie.
** Andrea Anders in Film/TheManWithTheGoldenGun.
** Magda in Film/Octopussy.
** Jenny Flex in Film/AViewToAKill.
** Xenia Onatopp in Film/GoldenEye, who was also TheBrute.
** Cigar Girl in Film/TheWorldIsNotEnough.
** Miranda Frost in Film/DieAnotherDay.
** Valenka in Film/CasinoRoyale2006.
* ComicBook/LexLuthor has a fondness for unreliable Dark Chicks throughout the Film/Superman films.
* Animala, an animal hybrid of indeterminate heritage (she's supposed to be made from four different forest creatures and acts most like a Catgirl) in Film/TheLostSkeletonOfCadavra.
* Semi-Bond parody Film/TrueLies presents Juno Skinner, an art antiquities dealer whose gallery is actually being used as a front for the middle-eastern terrorists to smuggle nuclear weapons into the US. She even has a rather brutal CatFight with Helen.

* in the third book of Literature/TheBladeOfTheFlame trilogy is the only villain who's not evil by choice
* Molly, from Literature/TheDresdenFiles, who after Literature/Changes. Heartbreakingly, she did it to emulate Harry.
* Diana Ladris from Literature/Gone plays this part in Caine's group.
* Amycus and Alecto Carrow, a pair of sadistic twins who were part of Voldemort's Death Eaters in the Literature/HarryPotter series. Narcissa Malfoy tries to stay on the edges until her son and husband are in trouble.
* Nicolette, the cousin of Lothair and Ignace Jospin, is considered this in the Literature/LeftBehind book Kingdom Come, as she, a member of The Other Light, helps spread the rebellion against God and Jesus Christ among those who haven't yet reached 100 years of age in the Millennial Kingdom through wild parties involving recreational drugs.
* Armida in the Literature/NightfallSeries plays this role in the BigBad PowerTrio.
* Koman, a sociopathic telepath who joined up ForTheEvulz in a group of villains where everyone else has an objective, is the Dark Chick in Creator/DavidEddings' Literature/TheRedemptionOfAlthalus. In Literature/TheElenium Princess Arissa plays this role to the Five Bad Band headed up by Annias and Martel.
* Literature/TrappedOnDraconica: Zarracka is the only member of Team Evil without a set role. At one point she's an informant and another she's a SuperSoldier. Far more petty and less stoic than the others.

* Drusilla from Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer, especially as part of The Whirlwind, amongst Angelus, Darla, and Spike.
* Series/ChouseishinSeries:
** Series/ChouseishinGransazer has Karin Saeki, a Warp Monarch alien assuming the guise of a dead woman who manipulates the Gransazers into fighting each other and takes full advantage of her beautiful appearance to captivate Akira into being her pawn. Impactor Lucia is a different flavor, being a DarkActionGirl and the (former) lover of her boss Logia.
** Series/ChouseiKantaiSazerX has Water Shogun Aqual, the vain and arrogant lone female of the Three Shoguns.
* While she isn't seen very much, Series/DegrassiTheNextGeneration gives us Amy, who is mostly known for being Sean's rebound and giving Jay gonorrhea, which he then gave to Alex and Emma.
* Series/GameOfThrones: Cersei Lannister is the pretty one of the family, who Tywin plans to marry into House Tyrell.
* Franchise/KamenRider
** Series/KamenRiderSuper1 has girly Jin Dogma executive Princess Yokai.
** Series/KamenRider555 has Smart Lady, the cutesy mascot of the Smart Brain corporation and Murakami's secretary.
** Though there's several other female Undead in Series/KamenRiderBlade, Miyuki Yoshinaga/Orchid Undead fits this the best, using a NiceGirl act to emotionally manipulate others and get them to lower their guards.
** Series/KamenRiderKiva: The Pearlshell Fangire, Maya, was originally this for the Checkmate Four in 1986, as their "Queen" and wife to the King Fangire. By 2008, her position is set to go to , although her heart isn't really in it.
** Series/KamenRiderDouble has Wakana Sonozaki, the naive younger daughter of the Sonozaki family, although she'd much rather focus on being a radio DJ than devote her time to her family's plans.
** Series/KamenRiderOOO has Mezool as this among the Greeed, with her greatest desire being to feel the maternal love a mother has for her child.
** Series/KamenRiderFourze has . The twist though is that The Virgo Zodiarts seems like she'd be this but
** Series/KamenRiderWizard: Medusa fills this role among the Greater Phantoms, usually opting for emotional manipulation to drive her Gates into losing their hope and giving in to their Phantoms.
** Series/KamenRiderDrive has Medic. She acts as the healer of the Roidmudes, is a MadDoctor who's extremely cold-hearted yet also cutesy, and very affectionate towards those she actually does care about, that being Heart.
** Series/KamenRiderBuild has , a TykeBomb spy sent by Namba Heavy Industries to infiltrate Team Build and keep tabs on them. Although she wasn't very evil to begin with and eventually turns good for real.
** Series/KamenRiderZiO has Ora, who manipulates people into becoming Another Riders by playing on their emotions to get them to accept Anotherwatches.
** Series/KamenRiderSaber: Reika Shindai takes this role in the second arc, where she manipulates the Sword of Logos Kamen Riders into turning against Touma and plays them against each other in order to collect their Seiken.
** Series/KamenRiderRevice: Aguilera is the playful and alluring idol of the Deadmans cult. She initially seems like the BigBad, but as her supposed right-hand man eventually reveals her true role in the cult is mainly just to be a figurehead who gathers followers.
%%** Series/KamenRiderBlack has High Priestess Bishium of the Gorgom High Priests.
%%** Series/KamenRiderZeroOne has As, Is's EvilKnockoff.
* Series/Revenge2011: If you go by AlternativeCharacterInterpretation, Amanda Clarke (real name Emily Thorne) is this to Emily Thorne/Amanda Clarke.
* Series/Leverage:
** Though Sophie's skills match the typical depiction pretty well (as the group's lead Grifter and manipulator), she's actually the warmest and friendliest member of the team and usually the most moral (when it comes to anything but theft and lies'), generally serving as TheHeart.
** It is actually Parker who better fits the Dark Chick's personality and role within the group of AntiVillain[=/=]AntiHero Protagonists. The team all have, by Season 2 at least, the desire help people for its own sake. But most of the crew are very sane and, although they enjoy the thrill of the chase, they really, really enjoy spending their earnings and living the high life. They also tend to be able to lead relatively normal lives aside from the addiction to con-jobs. Parker, meanwhile, is the loon who enjoys having and fondling money itself, rather than spending any of it. She enjoys the job itself more than any vacation and she has no understanding of any kind of life outside of committing crimes for their own sake.
%%* In Franchise/PowerRangers, the villainesses tend to mix this with DarkActionGirl.
%%** Scorpina in the original Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers.
%%** Princess Archerina in Series/PowerRangersZeo.
%%** Divatox, who is also the BigBad in Series/PowerRangersTurbo.
%%** PsychoPink in Series/PowerRangersInSpace.
%%** Trakeena in Series/PowerRangersLostGalaxy, until she becomes the BigBad.
%%*** There is also General Hexuba.
%%** Vypra in Series/PowerRangersLightspeedRescue.
%%** Nadira in Series/PowerRangersTimeForce.
%%** Duchess Toxica/General Necronomica in Series/PowerRangersWildForce.
%%** Marah and Kapri in Series/PowerRangersNinjaStorm.
%%** Elsa/Principal Randall in Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder.
%%** TheDragon Mora/Morgana in Series/PowerRangersSpd.
%%** Vampire Queen Necrolai and Goddess Itassis in Series/PowerRangersMysticForce .
%%*** There is also the General Serpentina.
%%** Mira/Mirratrix TheDragon of Kamdor in Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive.
%%** Camille, TheDragon of Dai Shi in Series/PowerRangersJungleFury.
%%*** Stingerella of the Five Fingers of Poison from the same season might also count.
%%*** Sea Overlord Jellica, TheDragon of Grizzaka in the same season.
%%** Tenaya, the field commander of the Venjix Computer Network in Series/PowerRangersRpm.
%%** Dayu the musician of the BigBad and wife of TheBrute in Series/PowerRangersSamurai and Super Samurai.
%%** Metal Alice, TheHeavy's SecretaryOfEvil in Series/PowerRangersMegaforce.
%%** Levira, the Armada's EvilGenius in Power Rangers Super Megaforce.
%%** Poisandra, the BigBad's girlfriend () in Series/PowerRangersDinoCharge and Dino Super Charge.
%%** Badonna, TheDragon of Madame Odius in Series/PowerRangersNinjaSteel. However, she doesn't show up until Super Ninja Steel, the second season.
%%** Cybervillain Roxy TheStrategist of Evox in Series/PowerRangersBeastMorphers.
%%** Mucus, the PerkyFemaleMinion of the BigBad in Series/PowerRangersDinoFury
* Mio Kuroki from Series/PrettyGuardianSailorMoon.
* Series/SevenStarFightingGodGuyferd has the wily and ruthless Shion, an executive of the Crown organization.
* Series/Smallville: While the "real" (i.e. Earth-1) Tess Mercer is an EvilGenius, her Earth-2 counterpart is a DarkChick BastardBastard who is much more damaged than E-1 Tess will ever be, and significantly less useful to boot.
* Franchise/SuperSentai is fond of the main villain lineup of each season having at least one female member, who usually acts as a spy and/or covert assassin. If she's in an organization of rubber suit monsters, she's usually be the only human/humanoid member.
** Series/HimitsuSentaiGorenger has arguably Sun Halo Mask, but he's a RareMaleExample. Sun Halo mask is the sly general of the BigBad.
** The first straight example was Salome from Series/BattleFeverJ, a specialized assassin who was skilled at disguising herself and using her feminine wiles to perform covert operations for the villains. Uniquely, she also had super strength and doubled as TheBrute for her faction. Since her appearance, it became the norm for the villains to have at least one female executive in the team.
** Series/DenshiSentaiDenziman: Mirror and Keller, Queen Hedrian's two female attendants and the Vader Clan's spy duo. They tended to be sent out on missions that required subterfuge as opposed to physical force.
** Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan: The Zero Girls are an entire team of these, serving as Black Magma's spies and assassins
** Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive: Mazurka, Deathdark's spy and MasterOfDisguise.
** Series/KagakuSentaiDynaman: Princess Chimera, a cute but vicious and scheming witch who happens to be the niece of Emperor Aton.
** Series/ChoudenshiBioman: Farrah is the only female executive among the Neo Empire Gear, though also has a mini one in her personal bodyguard Farrah Cat. Farrah Cat would start a semi trend of her own in female bodyguards who serve female executives.
** Series/DengekiSentaiChangeman: Adjutant Shima, Giluke's cold but seductive lieutenant.
** Series/HikariSentaiMaskman: Earth Imperial Ninja Fumin, the ninja bodyguard to Prince Igam and go-to minion for subterfuge missions.
** Series/ChoujuuSentaiLiveman: Doctor Mazenda, the vain female executive of the Armed Brain Army Volt who's quite manipulative and obsessed with preserving her beauty.

* Tamoko from VideoGame/BaldursGate: The only "minion" of Sarevok who actually cares about him and doesn't want him to go through with his somewhat insane plan. The others are presumably in it for a share of the power he's after. Tamoko has almost made a HeelFaceTurn by the time you first talk to her, and the PC can convince her not to attack at the end by being morally good enough.
* Valara from VideoGame/BatenKaitos Origins, who is easily the most ruthless of the Machina Vanguard.
* VideoGame/BlazBlue has two, post Continuum Shift. The first is Tsubaki Yayoi, who used to be good friends with Noel, but becomes a victim of MindRape and ended up BrainwashedAndCrazy, while still struggling to maintain her sanity. The other one is [[spoiler:Litchi Faye-Ling, being the TokenGoodTeammate who's in only for curing herself and Arakune, and is not really happy on her position. While many would peg her as an EvilGenius due to her doctorate, she is a woman who's more moved by emotions rather than intellect, thus putting her as the Dark Chick.]]
** Hazama/Terumi fits here the same way Kefka fit his former position: In a place where nearly everyone else is all about keeping Order, he's a chaos-loving, blatantly AxCrazy psychopath.
* Fox, from the first VideoGame/BloodyRoar game. A sadistic transvestite in hot pink leather. Also considered his fox beastform "ugly", despite it being one of the most attractive animals to turn into -- especially compared to the gorilla and boar.
* The villainous, ruthless crossdresser Flea, one of Magus's generals from VideoGame/ChronoTrigger.
* Ghost Widow, Dollface, Countess Crey, and Vanessa [=DeVore=] from VideoGame/CityOfHeroes. Note that [=DeVore=] and Crey are the leaders of their villain groups.
* While there are many examples in VideoGame/CrossEdge, Anesha is probably the best example.
* VideoGame/DragonQuestV: Queen Ferz is the only female member of the evil Order of Zugzwang, and the only who is able to cast illusions.
* In VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIIIMorrowind, Mages Guild Stewardess Ranis Athrys isn't outright "evil," but fits the trope. She is a red-eyed, dark-skinned Dunmer and she is a Nightblade, a class that supplements stealth with magical abilities. She has a WithUsOrAgainstUs, JoinOrDie attitude toward any mages who don't join the Guild as well.
* In VideoGame/FarCry5, Faith Seed is one of the major villains. She is manipulative and has an Angel appearance, though she seduces people with a non-sexual way.
* Franchise/FinalFantasy:
** Scarlet in VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII.
** Barbariccia/Valvalis of the Four Fiends in VideoGame/FinalFantasyIV.
* Franchise/FireEmblem tends to build up its female antagonists this way:
** Sonia in VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBlazingBlade who is a seductress that marries the leader of a mercenary gang to transform them into an evil army from the inside out. Stands out from most Morphs in that she believes she is human and thinks of herself as TheDragon to Nergal (only to be proven wrong by Limstella)
** VideoGame/FireEmblemPathOfRadiance has General Petrine, a Pyromaniacal LadyOfWar who is utterly devoted to Mad King Ashnard. In theory she is CoDragons along with General Bryce and The Black Knight, but she is clearly subordinate to both of them, making her this instead.
** Kleine in VideoGame/FireEmblemMysteryOfTheEmblem is the most competent of her QuirkyMinibossSquad, essentially making her TheDragon to Eremiah.
* Shannon in VideoGame/GodHand.
* Whiptail from VideoGame/HeavenlySword.
* In Franchise/KingdomHearts Larxene is The Dark Chick of Organization XIII. She's the only female member of the group, toys with Vexen and Axel, and generally has a nonchalant attitude towards things. By the end she's also TheDragon to the BigBad of Chain of Memories as Dark Chicks tend to be upwardly mobile people.
* VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic:
** The first game has .
** The second has Visas Marr, before her HeelFaceTurn.
* Mariska in VideoGame/LollipopChainsaw, the lone female member of the Dark Purveyors, is a hippie chick based on Music/JanisJoplin whose musical motif is PsychedelicRock, and is the most mellow and laid-back of the five.
* Erim, the Sinistral of Death in the VideoGame/Lufia series. She happens to be the most vital of the Sinistrals, as she can revive the others if they are killed. Each game has her take a HeelFaceTurn to help the hero, though with different circumstances each time.
* Rare PC example: Chloe from VideoGame/ManaKhemia2FallOfAlchemy.
* Enchantress in VideoGame/MarvelUltimateAlliance's version of the Masters of Evil.
* Heartless in Megaman Star Force 3,
* Sniper Wolf in VideoGame/MetalGearSolid.
* Mileena from Franchise/MortalKombat, especially in VideoGame/MortalKombat9, where her pre-battle quotes show that she takes a childlike joy in inflicting pain and is clearly insane.
* VideoGame/Neptunia:
** VideoGame/HyperdimensionNeptuniaMk2: GenderFlipped example with Brave The Hard/CFW Brave of the Four Felons, since he does not fill any of the other roles, and Magic The Hard takes the role of TheDragon. Brave is this trope since he is AffablyEvil and believes what he does is good for children.
** VideoGame/HyperdimensionNeptuniaVictory: Abness, who believes what she does is good and she's often excluded from the evil plans of the Seven Sages. She is also TheUnfought, since it's been established during her debut that she is weaker than actual children.
* There's also some examples from VideoGame/NintendoWars like the playful Lash in Dual Strike who enjoys toying with her rivals as much as fighting them. She also makes the HeelFaceTurn.
* In VideoGame/PokemonColosseum and its sequel, Cipher occasionally recruits this kind of character as a "face" (not a Face), to ease the population and divert them from what's going on behind the scenes. Venus and Snattle play it straight, while Lovrina uses it as a cover (she's actually the EvilGenius.)
* Colonel Masako in VideoGame/RedFaction, and Quill in the second game after her FaceHeelTurn.
* Veronica in Shadow Hearts 2.
* Belleza in VideoGame/SkiesOfArcadia.
* Mz Ruby and Dmitri in the VideoGame/SlyCooper games.
* Rouge the Bat in the VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog series. She's a spy and thief among villains that are usually mad scientists, grizzled anti heroes or member of a robot army. Openly flirts with the heroes, and makes her way through the ranks of whatever her organization, even being TheLeader of Team Dark in Sonic Heroes. Even in her original appearance she was the first member of Team Dark to HeelFaceTurn against Eggman when it was revealed she was actually a mole sent by the government and began to develop feelings for Knuckles on the Good Guys side.
* Two members of Nightmare's gang in Soulcalibur IV fit this position; Tira and [[spoiler: TokenGoodTeammate Sophitia]].
* Axem Pink in VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG.
* Wendy O. Koopa in the Super Mario Adventures comics and WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfSuperMarioBros3.
* Mimi in VideoGame/SuperPaperMario.
* Mara Aramov, Elsa Weissenger, and Trinidad in the VideoGame/SyphonFilter series.
* Persephone from VideoGame/Wild ARMs 5.
* Kariya and Uzuki in VideoGame/TheWorldEndsWithYou.

* Candi Shugari in Webcomic/AngelMoxie.
* Mary is this for the Imperial Guard in Webcomic/DubiousCompany. Unlike the other members of the guard, Mary is unable to recognize her behavior as evil. Conquering neighboring countries? Killing peasants? Kidnapping and sacrificing Sal so that the Emperor can become a god of war? Clearly acts of good. After all, she used ThePowerOfLove during all of them.
* Toyed with in Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick. Haley notices a pattern after multiple DesignatedGirlFight match-ups against these types, namely Sabine and Tsukiko (though she's also "pretty sure that druid's bird companion was female"), and quips about taking Favored Enemy "Airborne Skank" since they always seem to be flying too.
* Kusari in Webcomic/SluggyFreelance. She's a female costumed assassin on an Omniscient Council Of Vagueness that consists mostly of male Corrupt Corporate Executives and Mad Scientists. Later additions to the council, Frog (a talking frog) and Corsica (a non-talking frog) might also count. With such characters replacing original members, the board has become varied enough that Kusari doesn't really stand out like this any more. At the same time, her role as the CEO's Dragon has been emphasized more than before.
* In Webcomic/TrueVillains, little Mia performs each task she undertakes with ridiculous adorableness. She is also the TagalongKid of the group.

* The Undersiders in Literature/Worm are generally serious and more-or-less professional when they go about their business, rob banks, and beat up superheroes. Regent is the exception, being a wise-cracking DeadpanSnarker whose cheerful facade masks his sociopathy. So, not only is he the cheerful one, he's also the TokenEvilTeammate.

* Azula in WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender. She one ups both Zuko and Zhao as the main Fire Nation Avatar chaser much to Zuko's chagrin, operates with ruthless efficiency and manipulates people through her charisma or just because they're plain terrified of her.
** When Azula gets promoted to TheDragon for the Fire Nation forces, Mai takes over as Dark Chick, ruthlessly efficient, but generally nonchalant and disinterested, until she starts a relationship with one of the heroes...
* Daisy Dingo from WesternAnimation/BlinkyBill, at least before her HighHeelFaceTurn.
* Crasher in WesternAnimation/ChallengeOfTheGoBots.
* TheBaroness in Franchise/GIJoe -- seriously, that's what she's called.
* Bleez in WesternAnimation/GreenLanternTheAnimatedSeries: Starts off as the leader of a QuirkyMinibossSquad before being promoted to TheDragon in the second story arc. Known for being particularly vicious, and much more competent than her cohorts.
* Mochi Mochiato in the Legion of Low Tide from WesternAnimation/SushiPack.
* Karai in WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003 who is Shredders adopted daughter. She usurps Hun and Stockman as TheDragon and has a love hate relationship with Leonardo on the good guys side. Unlike other villains who are in it for power or money, she's evil out of duty and honor to her father.
** In the 2012 series she again becomes TheDragon over Xever and Bradford, has a love-hate relationship with Leonardo (which is made more complicated . While she's loyal through and through to Shredder, she also just likes causing chaos and seeking excitement and weirdness.
* Sometimes turns up in Franchise/Transformers.
** Blackarachnia, who is both the DarkActionGirl and the Dark Chick -- her characterisation is 'girl' and 'dark'. She's introduced as being much more competent than the other Predacons in adition to being a FemmeFatale. She ultimate pulls a HeelfaceTurn after falling in love with one of the Maximals. Given the amazing quality of the writing for WesternAnimation/BeastWars this is not a bad thing. That she was actually a Maximal protoform that was reprogrammed to be a Predacon leaves how much of the 'dark' we her and how much was the programming up in the air.
** Blackarachnia in Animated, and she doesn't pull the HeelFaceTurn.
*** And Slipstream, the female of the group, who seems to be based on Starscream's ability to bitch about everything.
*** Blitzwing is a male example, being set apart from the rest of the group by his weird powers and insanity.
** Airachnid, a rogue female Decepticon from WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime whose hobbies include collecting endangered species. And in this case, "endangered species" means that she collects someone she's taken an interest in, then kills the rest of the species.
* Babette (Darph [=BoBo=]'s Daughter) on WesternAnimation/TrippingTheRift.
* Paige in WesternAnimation/TronUprising. She's motivated out of duty to Tessler, has the DatingCatwoman thing going on with the hero, and is Co-Dragon's to the BigBad.
* The Scarlet Witch in WesternAnimation/XMenEvolutions version of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

* NothingNiceAboutSugarAndSpice: A villainous GirlyGirl.
* PerkyFemaleMinion: A GenkiGirl underling who contrasts with
the more serious main villain.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: When the cast is made up of a group of males and exactly one female.
* TokenGoodTeammate: A member of a group of jerks or villains with higher
moral compass of the ensemble and is good at reading emotions, resolving fights, and keeping an eye on the big picture.

The latter is particularly common if she doubles as TheDragon; e.g.
standards than the other members of the organization really dislike her, but put up with her because she gets results or is needed for some facet of the plan.

* AlphaBitch
* TheBaroness
* DarkActionGirl
* DarkMistress
* FemmeFatale
* PerkyFemaleMinion
* TheVamp

Just as TheHeart may be part of a PowerTrio with TheLeader and TheLancer, the Dark Chick tends to promote to Co-Dragon, or just become TheDragon of her team.
* Franchise/Gundam:
* Manga/Naruto:
* Manga/OnePiece:

* Franchise/SailorMoon:

* The Baroness from Film/GIJoeTheRiseOfCobra.
* Film/TheHungerGames: Glimmer in the Career Tributes' group.
* Film/JamesBond has run into quite a few:
** Miss Taro in Film/DrNo.
** Pussy Galore in Film/Goldfinger.

* Series/ChouseishinSeries:
* Franchise/KamenRider
* Series/Leverage:

%%** Cybervillain Roxy TheStrategist of Evox in Series/PowerRangersBeastMorphers.
%%** Mucus, the PerkyFemaleMinion of the BigBad in Series/PowerRangersDinoFury
* Mio Kuroki from Series/PrettyGuardianSailorMoon.
** Series/ChikyuuSentaiFiveman: Galactic Fang Zaza, who serves as bodyguard to Galactic Scientist Doldora and is the one most commonly sent out on stealth missions. She also has a rivalry with her counterpart in the Fivemen, Remi.
** Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman: Maria is the only female commander of the Vyram, and probably the most icy out of all of them. There's an extra layer to her antagonism to the team though since she's really [[spoiler:Rie Aoi, the brainwashed girlfriend of Ryu Tendo.]]
** Series/GekisouSentaiCarranger: Beauty Zonnette, the girlfriend of President Gynamo, although she'd much rather be chasing after Red Racer.
** Series/MiraiSentaiTimeranger: Lila, Don Dolnero's gold-digging fiancee.
** Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger: There's two among the Jakanja's Seven Dark Spears, who each embody a different end of this trope -- the cutesy yet vicious First Spear, Furabijou and the seductive and cunning Fourth Spear, Wendinu.
** Series/GoGoSentaiBoukenger: Shizuka of the Wind. She's a more womanchildish example than most, but she's the Dark Shadow minion who gets sent out on infiltration missions most often. She's also fond of outfits that show off her legs.
** Series/JukenSentaiGekiranger: [=RinJyu=] Chameleon-ken Mele, Rio's cutesy female follower who's madly in love with him.

** Series/KaitouSentaiLupinrangerVSKeisatsuSentaiPatranger: The Gangler medic, Goche Re Medou.
** Series/MashinSentaiKiramager: Yodonna is Emperor Yodon's second-in-command and SecretaryOfEvil. She lacks any understanding of human emotions beyond how to use them to manipulate others.
%%** Series/ChoushinseiFlashman: Lah Nefel, the leotard-wearing female field commander of Mess and surrogate daughter to Lee Keflen.
%%** Series/KousokuSentaiTurboranger: Princess Boma Jarmin and later Wandering Boma Kirika.

%%** Series/MahouSentaiMagiranger: Phantom Spy Vancuria, who can split into two as Nai and Mea.
%%** Series/EngineSentaiGoOnger: Water Pollution Minister Kegalesia. Like her fellow ministers she's not all that much of a villain, but she can still be quite fierce.
%%** Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger: Dayu Usukawa, who happens to be the only other member of the Gedoshu that Dokoku is kind to.

* Franchise/FinalFantasy:
* Shannon in VideoGame/GodHand.
* Whiptail from VideoGame/HeavenlySword.
* VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic:

* Heartless in Megaman Star Force 3,
* Sniper Wolf in VideoGame/MetalGearSolid.
* Mileena from Franchise/MortalKombat, especially in VideoGame/MortalKombat9, where her pre-battle quotes show that she takes a childlike joy in inflicting pain and is clearly insane.
* VideoGame/Neptunia:
* Belleza in VideoGame/SkiesOfArcadia.
* Axem Pink in VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG.
* Wendy O. Koopa in the Super Mario Adventures comics and WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfSuperMarioBros3.
* Mimi in VideoGame/SuperPaperMario.
* Mara Aramov, Elsa Weissenger, and Trinidad in the VideoGame/SyphonFilter series.
* Persephone from VideoGame/Wild ARMs 5.
* Kariya and Uzuki in VideoGame/TheWorldEndsWithYou.

* Candi Shugari in Webcomic/AngelMoxie.
* Mary is this for the Imperial Guard in Webcomic/DubiousCompany. Unlike the other members of the guard, Mary is unable to recognize her behavior as evil. Conquering neighboring countries? Killing peasants? Kidnapping and sacrificing Sal
link so that the Emperor can become a god of war?
Later additions
it points to the council, Frog (a talking frog) and Corsica (a non-talking frog) might also count.

* Crasher in WesternAnimation/ChallengeOfTheGoBots.
* TheBaroness in Franchise/GIJoe -- seriously, that's what she's called.
* Babette (Darph [=BoBo=]'s Daughter) on WesternAnimation/TrippingTheRift.

* Series/Revenge: If you go by AlternativeCharacterInterpretation, Amanda Clarke (real name Emily Thorne) is this to Emily Thorne/Amanda Clarke.
* On Series/Leverage, though Sophie's skills match the typical depiction pretty well (as the group's lead Grifter and manipulator), she's actually the warmest and friendliest member of the team and usually the most moral (when it comes to anything but theft and lies'), generally serving as TheHeart.
