"More than just cartoons" indeed...
CN Real is was a block on Cartoon Network that specifically showcased live-action programming. To be more specific, live-action programs that are based almost entirely on older shows (almost all of them Reality Shows, to boot).

A special thing to note is that while Cartoon Network had high hopes for the block - hoping to use it to compete with Nickelodeon and The Disney Channel - the block (as was accurately predicted by pretty much everyone) failed hard. It failed hard enough that all references to CN Real, as well as the branding for the block of shows, has been purged from network promotions. A number of shows from the block still limp around the schedule, but that's mainly just to keep the schedule full until new cartoons can take their place.

Shows that the CN Real block ran are:

  • Bobb'e Says
    • You know it's bad when That Other Wiki puts a "citation needed" tag regarding whether or not the show is funny. Seriously, see for yourself.
      • Actually, the "citation needed" tag regards if the videos themselves are funny.
      • Same difference.
  • BrainRush (replaced by Bobb'e Says)
  • Destroy Build Destroy (replaced by Dude, What Would Happen?)
  • Dude, What Would Happen?
  • The Othersiders
  • Survive This

Tropes exhibited:

  • Follow The Leader: Literally every show...
    • Bobb'e Says: Country Fried Home Videos (and Web Soup and Tosh 2.0 and This Week in You Tube and Maximum Exposure and Smash Cuts and the "Around the Net" segment of Attack of the Show...we'll be here all night), itself based on Americas Funniest Home Videos.
      • Except hosted by one of those insipid child actors you'd rather see in the unemployment line.
    • BrainRush: Cash Cab on a roller-coaster. With kids!
    • Destroy Build Destroy: Smash Lab and Junkyard Wars with Andrew W.K.
    • Dude, What Would Happen?: Myth Busters (yes, if it was hosted by complete idiots who had no idea what the hell they were doing and without any common sense like Adam & Jamie do) and, to an extent, arguably Smash Lab.
      • I thought it was just a kid-friendly version of Jackass.
    • The Othersiders: ''Ghost Hunters'' with kids!
    • Survive This: Man Vs Wild and Survivorman...hosted by Survivorman.
  • Hatedom: Related directly to...
  • Completely Missing The Point / Network Decay: This block would have been somewhat okay if the network it aired on hadn't been Cartoon Network.
  • Narm: The Help for Haiti spots with the Dude, What Would Happen guys has "Dude, that's what should happen"
  • So Bad Its Good: Some of the shows are unintentionally hilarious.
    • EXHIBIT A: The "ghost chair" in the Othersiders pilot.
  • So Bad Its Horrible: This seems to be the general consensus on this whole programming block.
