Bonnie Wright is a British actress born February 17, 1991, best known for playing Ginny Weasley in the
Harry Potter movies. Wright auditioned for the role of Ginny Weasley because her brother said she reminded him of the character. In the first four films, her role was minor, but come
Order of the Phoenix, she was one of six to participate in the battle at the Ministry of Magic, and she and Harry hooked up in
Half-Blood Prince, increasing Wright's importance in the
Harry Potter cast.
Wright reprised her role as Ginny Weasley in the final two-part film adaption of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Wright has also provided the voice of Ginny Weasley in
the video game versions of
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Wright starred in two television movies: 2002's
Stranded and 2004's
Agatha Christie: A Life in Pictures, where she played the younger version of
Agatha Christie. She had a guest role on Disney's
The Replacements voicing Vanessa in the season two premiere London Calling. Wright signed to star in Sweat, a short film. Sweat is part of a project of five films called
Geography Of The Hapless Heart. She portrayed Mia. The movie has a set release of 2012. She will also play Georgina in the 2012 film
The Philosophers.
Wright was named the winner of the Most Edgy Look Award at the 2011 Rodial Beautiful Awards. Bonnie Wright enjoys dance, art, travelling and playing musical instruments, saxophone, the harmonica, piano and recorder, as well as sports including football, swimming, tennis, riding, ice skating, cycling and surfing.
