An earlier seiyuu which gained very substantial fame due to her role as Major Motoko Kusanagi, the anime ur-Action Girl, as well as her impersonation of video game icon Lara Croft. Atsuko Tanaka is well known for her cool, deep, sometimes very alluring voice, which usually lands her roles of strong, professional women. However, this can be twisted, and she does evil villainesses just as well. She's still active to this day.Her Western equivalent may be Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, who's dubbed four of her roles to date including Motoko Kusanagi.
