Andyroid: Removed the Discworld example, it doesn't really fit here. Though would you say that the bard becomes a sort of Warrior Poet at the end, after the Silver Horde's Heroic Sacrifice?

Ununnilium: Yeah, but it's still not quite the same as what this entry covers. The Poet, at the end, is super-badass, however, and I wish there was an entry to mention it in. Hmmmmmmm.

Qit el-Remel:Yondu Udonta (from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy) and Kimahri Ronso (from Final Fantasy X) both qualify to some degree. So does Fran (from Final Fantasy XII).

Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid is a particularly schizophrenic example - one moment he's gunning down countless enemies with brutal efficiency, and the next moment he's discussing the meaning of life, morality, and nature, while simultaneously agonising about the agony of being a soldier.
- Although this is largely a fault of Gameplay And Story Segregation. The gunning part is interactive, the discussions are not.
  - Not always. Compare the way he acts around a boss he's about to fight to the way he acts around a boss dying at his feet.

Artector: I think Jiraya should have a space on this page, as he spends a good chunk of his life writing books, while still being a really effective warrior, though the books might not be considered poetic.

This page is sorely lacking in the Viking department. Needs more Egil Skallagrimsson, Gunnlag Serpent-Tongue, and others.
