I don't think that it's correct that this film was "one of the first to depict the Internet and what could be done on it", because David Lightman didn't use the Internet — he used a serial terminal emulator and a modem. (Also, the film was made in 1983, and NSFNET didn't go live until 1986, according to The Other Wiki.)

Silent Hunter: It's still the Internet in principle, though.
