I Am No Orator
Micah: I don't think these (from the
YKTTW) are examples:
- The Bible - Moses claims to be a terrible public speaker. God isn't impressed and tells him to have Aaron, his brother, speak for him.
- Any kind of man Sergeant Jackrum claims "upon my oath" not to be in Monstrous Regiment. It's often obvious because will, for example, follow a claim not to be a violent man with a threat to break your ribs if you cross him. He justifies it on the grounds that he's really a woman.
Moses really
is a terrible public speaker and isn't trying to play for sympathy, while Jackrum's oaths aren't about his rhetorical skill at all.
