Martin The Mess: Deleted the link to Comic Book Time which I myself put in, because this week's episode clarified the current date to show that they're still in autumn of 2007, not spring of 2008.
I'm not sure where this should go; its just a thought that I had. Question: Why was the T-800 much less creepy than Cameron? Answer: Emotional Uncanny Valley. The fact that cameron is much, much more advanced than the original "Arnie" model makes her, in a way, much less genuine. Take as an example the famous line: "I know now why you cry." When the T-800 said it, it was a "holy crap, he really does understand!" moment for the audience. If Cameron were to say it, she'd just be lying, because she's smart enough to fake it. But the "Arnie" model didnt have any fancy psychology programing, and was never intended to understand human emotion, makes the end of T2 much, much more profound than anything Cameron said in Season Two, Episode 1. Still cool and creepy to the point of disturbing, yes, but not profound. Cameron's cool and all, creepy as hell, but I'd just like to say a word or two in defense of T2.
Maybe this example deserves a spot on the uncanny valley page?
The narrative technique used in the episode "Goodbye To All That", where the reading of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" matches the 888's pursuit of Martin Bedell: would anyone consider that a "Two for One Show"? I haven't found anything called parallel narrative.
Grimace: A query for other tropers - why should we consider Cromartie a threat anymore? The team has, thus far, taken out four T-888s: the one hunting Derek, the one at the power plant, the one at the military academy (without any assist from Cameron), and the one at the psychiatrists office. Yet every time Cromartie is mentioned they all brown their trousers.
DefianceFalcon: Should TSCC get its own Just Bugs Me page? It already has a WMG page, so it makes sense. But it would have to involve moving or copying large chunks of the Terminator Just Bugs Me page.
This troper would like to point out that he doesn't think this series is ignoring T3. It just happens ''after'' it. rbx5: Erm... where exactly is the Terminator theme in the prison break scene? This Troper saw that entire scene on You Tube and didn't hear it (or maybe its a part of the score he hadn't heard before). |
