Amethyst: HEY! Who removed the picture from this page? (Was it because it wasn't uploaded to the site? Or has someone arbitrarily decided that entry illustrations aren't "scholarly" enough for this wiki?) Whoever it was, I think it was a pretty low thing to do.

Changed 'The ending battle of the game is usually fought against a villain who has corrupted a True Rune and is attempting to exploit its power for some nefarious purpose' to 'The ending battle of the game is usually fought against a villain carrying a True Rune themselves, their goals often intertwined with said True Rune's nature', since the original statement wasn't really true. To this Troper's knowledge, their hasn't been any occurrence of a True Rune ever becoming corrupted, and certainly not by one of the game's 'villains'. Most of the time, True Runes either bend their host's fate to their goals, or just plain don't care what their host does with them. Windy was simply using Open Gate as a last ditch means to acquire Soul Eater, Barbarossa wielded King Dragon in defence of his empire, Jowy tried to use Dark Sword to bring an end to a war ( foolish error - Dark Sword and Bright Shield were perpetuating the war deliberately ), Luc used True Wind in a misguided attempt to prevent the world dying of 'balance', and Sun's bearers were all driven power-mad by the rune itself. Quite frankly, the most nefarious incident that directly involved a true rune was engineered by Soul Eater itself, which started the Scarlet Moon War in an attempt to cause the deaths of millions - the nefarious ones are most often the runes themselves. - Chibi-Kibou

Um, is there any way we can divide the examples up per game? Or perhaps a list of examples that appear in all the games, and then smaller lists for the individual games. It's just confusing if you've played a couple of the games and not all of them. But I don't really want to go ahead with this unless you guys think it's a good idea... - Morgana006 (Nervous editor is nervous)
