Sora Wo Kakeru Shoujo Discussion

Leloupard vs. Lulupard

dkellis: Re the Leloupard/Lulupard Fan Nickname thing: it's probably technically meant to be "Leloupard", but I've seen several people (not just in the Animesuki forum, although they may have picked it up from that forum) write it "Lulupard". This could be because Lelouch's own canon nickname (and the first part of his katakana-ed name) is pronounced "Lulu", which I know some fansubbers used (not sure about official subs/dubs). So personally I think it's a variation of Spell My Name With An S.

Leopard a Jerk Ass?

Koveras: I think the perception of Leopard as a Jerk Ass is highly subjective. I, for one, never truly saw him as one and it seems I'm not alone in this. :)

Ronin Aquila: Well, even objectively, Leopard is an egotistical Adult Child who cares about the feelings of NOBODY but himself, and worse yet, has far too much power, allowing him to bully, blackmail and abuse people into doing what he wants when he wants without consideration to their well being. Even objectively, that really fits "jerkass" to a tee.

dkellis: I'm having flashbacks to the whole "Suzumiya Haruhi is a Jerk Ass" flamewars.

Koveras: Right.

Midonin: That, and I want to keep this page focused a little less on the subjective tropes and more on what the show actually presents. It makes for a cleaner, easier to read page. Thus why I object to Leopard. He's a little full of himself, but he's not that bad.

Baughn: Even if he was that bad, the other characters aren't nearly as bulliable as the SHNY ones

PS: Leopards "Hooray, Imo-chan is dead!" moment in episode 23 gave him a lot more jerkass points in my eyes. But I still think we should wait with this discussion until the series is over.

PS: I think the line "Leopard is a boastful, incompetent worthless Bastard but he would never do something like this" by Akiha in the last episode quite clearly characterizes him as a Jerk With A Heart Of Gold.

Cast-specific entries

Synaesthetic: Whoever is removing my edits, please knock it off. The addition was correct and there's no character sheet yet created to add it to directly. Seriously, knock it off.

Midonin: That was me, and this wasn't the only article I've done it in. Since a cast list of people in a show is relatively easy to find on the Internet, I feel like series work pages shouldn't list "this person was here" as a trope, and should focus more on the storytelling elements. That's the site's purpose, after all.
