Sonichu vs. Sonic-chu! Place your bets!
Edrobot: So... he's basicly
David Gonterman, only worse?
- Lime: Oh yes, with a hint of Psychopathic Manchild thrown in.
- The Toon Geekette: Exactly! Hell, I almost want to apologize to Gonterman for adding him to the Disgraces Pantheon after reading up on Chris and watching videos of him on You Tube.
- PuppetChaos: But remember, there's always Scarlet Foxfire. "Ah'm ah zoot, an alien symbiotic costume!"
Mikado: I've been meaning to do this for a while nd one of my friends finally got me to do it.
Lime: I was wondering when this would get its own article. Kudos, Tropers!
Da Nuke: Don't thank us. Thank the trolls. We are the only ones who have become mentally tough enough to view
Sonichu as tame compared with Chris-chan's antics...
Komodin: Am I the only one here who finds Chris' sex tape with Kimmi to be more
hilarious than mortifying? I mean, between the very fact that he was desperate/stupid enough to resort to using the blowup doll for his carnal pleasures, the female positions he assumed during the "smexin'", and JULAAAAAAAAY!!!!, I was laughing too hard to be scared/squicked.
- Lime: Oh yeah, it is hysterical. Then again, this is coming from someone who's... desensitized to some of the squickier stuff.
- PuppetChaos: I can't watch anything with Chris's wang in it. I just can't.
Komodin: Watching it while listening to "Let's Get It On" makes it even
more hilarious, to me at least.
- The Toon Geekette: I don't have the nerve to watch it myself, but does watching it while listening to "Sex Bomb" (a.k.a. the sex theme from the Sonichu Audiobooks) affect the experience? Or how about the version of "Hallelujah" from the Watchmen soundtrack?
- PuppetChaos: I saw roughly 30 seconds of it, then I went into a seizure, but I ripped the audio so I could hear JULAAAAAAAAAAY and the line "You take that like a good, bad girl"; and laugh at it without having to see CWC's ass. Or wang. Or ... anything.
Mikado Good god, this article is massive compared to the last time that I saw it.
Crowley: Well, there's just so much to talk about...
Ace Of Scarabs: I recall an archived
Image Board thread where one of the
Anonymous claimed they had stolen his Sonichu medallion, and had photos to prove it.
Lime: You know... Reading the
Darth Wiki has made me wonder if we should have a page where we actually say
good things about this comic. We should at least have a WMG or fanfic recommendation page.
Edrobot: Good idea. Let's start listing Chris's
postive aspects untill someone makes a
Darth Wiki page.
- Chris exhales carbon dioxide, allowing plants to live.
- In the event of an alien invasion, Chris can make an effective human shield.
- Chris acts as a magnet to draw trolls who would otherwise target something we actually like.
Josh6243: Another positive aspect
Lime: Those are great points! Here's another:
- The comic is a reliable guide on how not to make a comic, TV show, movie, book or just about any other form of competent entertainment.
Moar Lurk: Guess what?
- Chris supports the economy so much, he's in $2000 worth of debt.
- Chris consumes his own sperm, ensuring that no women are accidentally impregnated
- In the event of an apocalypse, you can use Chris as cannibal repellent.
Dukia:
- Me and an old friend of mine had a chat-based RP that was a lot like Sonichu early on, when I was in middle school, which improved and became more coherent over time, as well as the characters gradually becoming greyer and less Sue-ish. So it's really not so bad, and CWC may have better arcs in the future. (However, perhaps considering that CWC is in his twenties, and my friend and I were 10-12 and 11-13 at the time and both rather sheltered as kids, makes Sonichu still kind of bad, as CWC isn't a middle-schooler, and therefore I highly doubt that Sonichu will get much better in the future.)
Tacitus:
- Whatever fan work you produce, it will almost certainly be better than this.
- If you are a single heterosexual male, the odds of you finding a mate are improved due to CWC driving females away from him and possibly towards your direction.
- CWC has raised awareness of autism, while empowering other autistic people who are functioning better than him.
- CWC provides a powerful incentive for people to take control of their lives and better themselves, lest they be compared to him.
- CWC's work features plugs of quality games, anime, and other media, even if they are appearing in Sonichu, thus helping those examining his work out of bile fascination find alternative, quality entertainment.
- CWC brings people together, even if in they're being united by horror.
- CWC's comic has inspired this TV Tropes page, thus allowing our favorite website to garner just an extra little bit of ad revenue.
- It's not like his work can possibly get any wo... I'm being stupid.
Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: Someone put this on the
cutlist for being, um, libelous. I know this work exists, and so it should be listed for that reason. I know that this entry exists because of interest raised because of its
So Bad Its Horrible listing. If it's libel,
correct the article! If it isn't as bad as everyone says, defend it! (And then duck.)
Ethereal Mutation: There was a part that just focuses on the author himself and his "tropes", which read like Encyclopedia Dramatica light. I deleted it because honestly, we don't nastiness like that here.
Madrugada: I'm with
Anonymous Mc Cartney Fan. You don't cutlist an article because it's inaccurate, you correct it.
Da_Nuke: I honestly don't believe this page was libelous at all, because all this page was telling was the truth... now, it's not my fault that it's such a terrible truth, mind you. This man is completely real, and everything that was over there is completely real. He has released a compilation of pictures from his childhood, so either this is real, or he was groomed from his early years into being the biggest ruse ever. If you have any doubt, just read the
CW Cki. And yes, it reads like Encyclopedia Dramatica, because what is written in ED is
real too. In fact, I didn't thought the ED entry was libelous at all.
I'm fine with deleting the stuff about Chris though. This is a site about fiction after all, so Sonichu should remain.
Akaso: No such thing as notability, correct? Sonichu, as fucked up as it is, is still a webcomic, and therefore part of a form of media. Delete the stuff about Chris (but leave some essentials in, it
is his
Life Embellished anyhow), and leave the article.
Great Pikmin Fan: Link doesn't work. It sends me to some "sponsor listings" page.
False Swipe: His website got hacked.
Again. You can view most of the comics
here
, although the later ones are missing.
LE Xicon 712: Does he really have High Functioning Autism?
PS I saw
this youtube video
where he won this award and i believe that it's pretty weird that a kid who won a sonic grand prize would grow up to be a crazy person like Chris Chan. Actually, i believe he was made up by 4Chan in a way to make fun of the news and the real chris chandler. they probably did it because the words "High functioning autistic" sound funny to them.
If he really is chris chan, What if he didnt win the sonic contest? Would he still be the same as he is right now?
Moar Lurk: No, he wouldn't. The critical divergence point was when his babysitter locked him in his room when he was two, he quit talking for five years and during these years he was diagnosed.
I figure that he'd realized that his parents would stop talking on the phone for him, and when the sitter got annoyed, he became terrified that if he spoke to any adult at any time they'd punish him. To avoid this, like any stupid kid, he simply quit talking. When he got into school and still didn't talk, the teachers forced his parents to take him to a doctor who decided that it was autism.
He claims the event "caused his autism". I say this event caused a fear of negative attention from women, which he then blamed on autism.
To support this, recall that around April, he claimed to have overcome his autism. This was when Ivy was in full swing. If he had a girlfriend, he wouldn't need to fear negative attention (Or so he assumes). Once Ivy left, he began blaming it again because he knew it was back to the singles search. Oh, and he screamed like a little girl when he found out Hannah was a troll.
LE Xicon 712: I still dont know if he really won the Super Sonic Contest though.
PuppetChaos: There's a local news fluff piece about it, and CWC did indeed win it.
However, it wasn't really a contest of skill, I forgot what it was, but it basically amounted to a questionaire-slash-lottery style of contest.
Sgt Hydra: Somebody restore my faith in humanity and tell me this person does not exist.
Tacitus: Sorry, unless this is one of the most elaborate and self-destructive hoaxes in history, this guy's really out there.
And even worse, there is an entire community of people who dedicate their lives to provoking him into further destroying his own. And worst of all, simply by reading this page and poking around the
You Tube channels or wikis inspired by him,
you and I are helping the situation deteriorate even further, for without the internet's attention, Christian would be just another guy with an awful hand-drawn comic.
PuppetChaos: Why is he so...
fascinating?
Wildcard: Tard rage? Really, is this ED, we have standards here don't we?
- Loser Gamer Britt: TV Tropes may have standards, but do we have to be PC about everything? That, and "really stupid" doesn't even begin to describe it (and sounds, well, stupid).
PuppetChaos: I stopped taking TV Tropes seriously a long time ago. And we have a page on both Ed Wood and David Gonterman, don't we? I guess "no such thing as notability" doesn't count anymore.
- Wildcard: No we don't have to be PC about everything. But theres a difference between say "Man sometimes that sounds really retarded" and "lol Tard Rage". And all the figures pupper said are noted figures on the internet. I'm no Bluenose, but this wiki wasn't made to immaturly throw middle school insultes at people. If it was actually funny then I'd let it slide.
- There I changed it. Not funny, but nowhere near as stupid as Tard Rage.
- Loser Gamer Britt: Late edit is really really late, but that works. Thinking about it, yeah, that was immature of me. ._.
PuppetChaos: Oh, I seemed to have misunderstood something here. I thought you were replying to my comment above, saying something to the effect of "Why do we have a page on Sonichu?", as opposed to having a beef with the content of an article. Wow, I feel like a fool now.
Wild-card It's alright, I guess it could have seemed that way with the whole "standards" thing. I don't really have a issue with Sonichu being here though.
- Anyone know what's going on now? Has he left the internet?
DonZabu: Check his
Deviant Art; he got banned.
PuppetChaos: Posting barely-censored furry sex scenes'll do that.
PuppetChaos: Guys, the WMG section is wide open. (my humble suggestion: at least try to be somewhat clever)
The Toon Geekette: So, what do you suppose would happen if he found this page? Would he be relatively civil about it, like Gonterman was when he found us? Or would he upload a
You Tube video screaming at us to take down the page or he'll "curse" us?
Man Without A Body: I would love for that to happen. It'd give us one hell of a page quote. Also, I'm seriously contemplating mixing him into a
You Tube Poop. UPDATE:
Done and done.
PuppetChaos: I was surprised by how civil Gonterman was ...although he seemed to laspe into the same ol' "...but if I can get my site to get higher on Google than _____ then it'll be alright" thing he does now.
Chris finding the
Tv Tropes page would be EPIC. [hinthinthinthinthint]
- I just sent a highly-edited version (Without most of the things that would offend him, i.e. pickles... I left in the clone thing because it's funny) of my "Gainax Ending" WMG to him and told him he's free to use it in his comic. Here's hoping that he actually sees it and if everything in Sonichu suddenly resembles a combination of End of Eva and Watchmen.
- Guys, I changed the second edit underneath The Woobie trope because it seemed he or she missed the "despite all these negative traits". Then the second post went on to describe how he is homophobic, racist, etc... I could be wrong, but that post seems a little redundant. So I just changed it to Your Milage May Vary
The Toon Geekette: So,
anyone else seen this video yet
? I take it absolutely no one would be surprised if any of that happened? Also, how many tropes did that one video contain?
A lot, but it's probably exactly right.
Kimo: I'm somewhat confused about the IBA vs. Real Chris thing. If the fake Chris is the one we've been seeing for years, then what of the actual Chris' works, pictures of him and whatnot? It honestly floored me, because I've been hearing of Chris-chan for quite a while (never got into really looking into him until this year), but given it that the one I've seen and heard of for so long is fake, it's confusing me in the aspect of what was Real Chris history and what was propagated by the Fake Chris. Can anyone help me sort this out?
- It's simple enough. Someone (Liquid Chris, whom you refer to as "Real Chris") made a video where he mocked CWC (referred to from now on as Ian) by doing a (near perfect) impression of him. People thought it was lulzy and laughed about it for a bit. That would've been the end of it, but Ian found the video and raged, believing that Liquid was seriously trying to steal his identity. Liquid took that and ran with it, and started claiming that he was the TRUE and HONEST CWC and Ian was an impostor. Of course, since every single person who pays attention to Chris Chan is a troll, they played along. Ian's youtube comments were soon nothing but people calling him an impostor. Ian, being an idiot, couldn't tell that people were just screwing with him and raged more and more with every video Liquid released. Liquid began to make claims about the direction his life was taking, pretending that he was achieving all of the goals Ian had spent his life working towards, such as making a Sonichu game and properly copyrighting Sonichu... stuff like that. He also claimed to have found a TRUE and HONEST boyfriend free girl named Kacey. Kacey of course is a fellow troll. Ian, being an idiot, thought that he could impersonate Liquid convincingly and called Kacey. He couldn't, but Kacey played along. As of now (November 2009) the most recent development is Ian trying to steal Kacey from Liquid, and both Liquid and Kacey pretending it's working.
Wild-card Should we ad the new "Cherokee video" in the section for
Unfortunate Implications?
The Toon Geekette: Am I the only one who thinks "I'LL BREAK YOU DEAD!" is awfully reminiscent of
"I'LL KILL YOU TO DEATH!"? Admittedly, I could never take either line seriously, but this little realization just cements the unintentional humor of both.
Wild-card: Oh definatly, but at least "I'll kill you to death" was coming from a fictional character.
Now that Liquid has returned, what do you guys think will happen? Is there ever going to be a final episode in this story? After all that I've seen, I feel like it's just going in circles. Though I would like to know too things before it ends, (if it ever does) who is Liquid really? And is Kacey a real person, or just a made up girl to make CWC jealous?
Tacitus: I found the "Chris Gets Laid" story disappointing - it was tantalizingly close to a fusion of CWCvile and
Silent Hill, but devolved into an excuse for the cast to mutilate Christian. There's so much potential there! A mysterious letter from Megan, asking him to meet her in CWCville, a fog-shrouded nightmare inhabited by grotesque parodies of Christian's creations. Featuring Pickle Head as the manifestation of Christian's repressed homosexual urges and resulting homophobia, and Crystal as the impish little girl who taunts and hinders Christian in his journey of horrifying self-discovery.
Someone with more knowledge of
Silent Hill and the
Sonichu phenomenon needs to get on that.
- PuppetChaos: Would you believe that I've had an idea for a while that's essentially CWC meets Haruhi? (even before I knew about the existence of CWC) That's scarier, I think.
Tacitus: As penance for playing "Kick the Autistic," I've made an effort to work on the article, trimming it down, adding tropes, and trying to reduce the tone in places from vicious to merely appalled. Sorry for taking up a huge chunk of page history with all the edits.
Wild-card: Good job, looks much better now.
Furikku: Just went thru and fixed up some broken link issues. Under "Defictionalization," "4 cent garbage" is listed as an actual site. However, the link is broken and I can't find it with a quick Googling. Should that be removed entirely, or just the link?
Wild-card: I guess Gecko was Liquid all along. Who knew?
Man Without A Body: I think it was a real board for a while, but it's down or something.
Man Without A Body: Anyone else think Chris is alarmingly similiar to David Sourbutts on
Psychoville?
Loser Gamer Britt: Chris now has a
mailbag
section on his wiki where he answers "fan" mail. One of the newer ones posted in Mailbag 3 mentions TV Tropes.
Oh Crap.
