Jalm: I put up an example involving a Pokemon fanfic a long time ago. I realized it actually had nothing to do with this trope (symbolizing religion and politics instead of sex), so I deleted it.

Citizen: Does this remind you of anything? I was going to put it up, but Fast Eddie doesn't seem to like it when I put anime-related pics (visual novel, close enough) on non-anime tropes... =/

Ununnilium: It works, IMHO.

Mister Six: Or there's this scene from the comic book Preacher, in which a hungry vampire tries to attack a sheep but the farmer thinks he's doing something else... clicky.
Paul A: Removing this example:

  • In the last hero Rincewind, Leonard and Carrot are on their spaceship, and start to notice things going awry, while Leonard starts to list off the physical attributes a creature would need to have caused them all, the sharp claws, the long sharp face, the long neck, the slithery style, the being exactly like a xenomorph...
    • in the end it turns out to be an orang-utan.

because while I'm fairly sure there's a trope where it would fit (possibly Shout Out?), this trope isn't it.

billythehick: fine...

Demetrios: I got rid of the King of Queens example and the vegetarianism entry. The King of Queens example is more of a Shout Out than an actual Does This Remind You Of Anything moment, and the vegetarian one is more of a Soap Box Sadie situation.

EricTFBat: You know, we could add Battlestar Galactica to this list of examples, but where would we start? Or stop? It's like all of US politics for the last ten years, with "our" side playing all the baddies...

Fly: Cutting:
  • In Death Note Ryuk explicitly states that his obsession with apples is analogous to alcohol or drug addiction.
because if it's explicitly stated, it's hardly an example of this.

Shini: Wasn't there a Metal Gear Acid example with Venus and her Dowsing Rod? I liked it.

Is there a place to put examples which weren't intentional on the part of the series' creator, or does that not count as a trope?

Antheia: Sounds like Accidental Innuendo.

Taelor: Um, is there a reason why the advertising section got pulled?
