Great Limmick: Isn't the Garfield and Friends "Lights, please" joke more of a running gag? The difference being that an overly long gag is repeated immediately, while a running gag is repeated at intervals interspersed with other content.

This is just Memetic Mutation, isn't it? Having many different people make the same gag isn't the same as a single Overly Long Gag.

Given that the fights always stop the plot of the episode dead in its tracks for several minutes, this troper would say guilty as charged.
I thought the "Oh, I just love repetition!" line was one of the infrequent moments where Stewie vocalizes what a real one-year-old thinks. Because we all know how toddlers love the same songs, the same cartoon and the same jokes, over and over and over and over...
Again, just a rare example of Stewie acting like a real toddler.

Vulpy: I wanted to thank whoever added that Hollywood Squares example. I saw that episode live with my mom (our family was going through difficult times), and it really brings back memories for me. Something of a Tear Jerker, honestly.
