Sci Vo: I removed the sub-tropes of Death Trap and Kissing Tropes because those are indexes.
Sci Vo: I'm not ready to YKTTW it yet, but I'm starting to brainstorm ways to split this. It's like a mash-up of literary techniques and plot devices, neither of which are terribly precise categories to begin with. One possibility is to split out the specific kinds of Scenes, which would pull whole sub-categories like Chase Scene, Death Trap, Fight Scene, and Kissing Tropes, plus a number of individual tropes like Hostage Situation. Another possibility is to split out the Storytelling Tricks, which would pull the generic things like Arc Words, Deus Ex Machina, Flashbacks And Chronology, and MacGuffin. I'll have to think about it some more. Just wanted to get that out there. |
