Fast Eddie: Took out link to http://dojo.fi/~rancid/loituma__.swf
YYZ: And then there's the popular (thanks to YTMND) image of Leeroy Jenkins as a heavily-armored Martin Lawrence. Scrounge: Bonecrusher hates Warcraft. Khym Chanur: Grrrrr, how in the world do you make a link to 300 work? I've tried 300, , 300 300 , 300 300, and all of it is displayed as-is, instead of it being a link to the (non-existent) 300 page. Does it need to exist first? Ununnilium: The problem is, you can't link to something that starts with a number. I would do this: 300 Morgan Wick: I thought you couldn't even have something that starts with a number. Scrounge: Bonecrusher hates SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Kimiko Muffin: Could someone explain the Shingetsutan Tsukihime one better? I have no idea what it's talking about there ... osh: Think of it as such severe discontinuity fans prefer to just ignore it exists so none else has to bother to sit through it. Citizen: It's just a minor /a/ forced meme to me. Better explained here Fast Eddie: Compelled to do this, feel free to ignore. class goggles(){function goggles(){return $this;}} Okay, I feel better, now. Scrounge: Bonecrusher hates nitpicks. Scrounge: Bonecrusher hates running gags. Me, on the other hand? I feel better now. :) Ninjcrat: The misplaced ':' in the Chuck Norris image has irritated me every time I saw it. So I downloaded the image, moved it and reuploaded it. I have perpetrated one of the dorkiest edits ever. Freezair For A Limited Time: You think that's bad? The fact that that Chuck Norris card is allegedly a crrature but has no power and toughness is grating on me like nails on a chalkboard. I'd love to save it and give it "*+1/*+1", where the stars stand for the actual number of stars in the universe, but my Photoshop-fu is weak. Tangent 128: Aww, somebody beat me to the Trogday quote! Shay Caron: Ahahaha, somebody beat me to saying somebody beat me to the Trogday quote. I love this site. Scrounge: The mention of this happening without the internet reminded me of something very important... How did this page get so far along without mentioning that Andre the Giant has a posse? Pro-Mole: I'm taking this explanatory statement about Candle Jack, because it simply ruins the mood. If you really needed clarification, you just needed to Google it, seriously.
That Other 1 Dude: Boo to Citizen for removing the stinger for no reason EDIT: Who the hell removed it again?
Should we include "Stupid, STUPID rat creatures!!!" from Bone ? Deux Hero:The page needs a rick roll in it. Morgan Wick: Before I saw the page, and the two sub-entries for the rickroll, I considered adding, or replacing the existing rickroll entry with, "This meme" or similar with a link to a rickroll video. Raekuul: Should we include the Slaying of Scripts? Within the El Goonish Shive community, it's gained a meme of its own... Air Of Mystery: What does "Very good, TVTROPES! BUT YOU NEED... MORE... EXAMPLES!" come from? 300. Man Without A Body: Is the Casablanca example a meme all over the net, or is it just a TV Tropes one? None of the above. It's a pre-internet one. Some memes exist even before the invention and/or popularity of the internet. Guest: If anyone could think up a good Stan/ Miyuki quote for the addition I made a few days ago, that would be very much appreciated. Fluff: In the "Specific Types of Memes" section, should Candle Jack be interup Unknown Troper: Shouldn't Boom Headshot be in this index? It's a rather well-known meme, isn't it? (passer-by): The most well-known meme is not Leeroy Jenkins. I'd give to either Chuck Norris jokes or the rickroll — my parents know what a rickroll is, while Chuck Norris jokes turned up in the 2008 election. Of course, I'd prefer just to get rid of the paragraph because it's not really about memetic mutation much. Kulsprutejojjo: I believe Team Fortress 2 has enough merits for it's own memetic mutation page, since it is practically a living meme factory at about the same level as Touhou, perhaps even bigger. It should not take much for it to merit it's own specific page, considering I have seen many, MANY more memes from it than depicted on the Video Games page and the game's article. Same could probably be said about other games, such as World Of Warcraft, so I think we should discuss other franchises that merit their own pages too here. |
