Dalantia: Pulled a couple of things, namely
Bottomless Magazines and
Competitive Balance - both tropes referenced something irrelevant. Bottomless Magazines is averted completely, as the characters do need to reload in order to keep firing. Competitive Balance has nothing to do with the weapons - it's more likely to do with the balance (or more precisely, intentional skewing of balance) between Survivors and Boss Infected.
- I think the original intent of 'Bottomless Magazines' was how there is a limitless supply of ammunition for the sidearms and the main arms (at the supply caches).
- So... it wasn't that the magazines were bottomless, but the
magazines were bottomless? While pretty meta, that's not the trope of
Bottomless Magazines.
- Yeah. The pistol magazines aren't bottomless, but you never actually run out of them, and it's true that the ammo caches for the other weapons never run out either. It's borderline, but probably not a full-blooded example of the trope. —Jake Was Here
Dagda: Can I ask whether people's reactions to witch 'theories' I mentioned in Alternate Character Interpretation are similar to my own? (This isn't about the merits of the entry, I'm just indulging my own curiosity)
G-X: Shouldn't we add something to the description of Versus Mode (which says the Survivors die every time, which is undoubtedly the intention, but not the reality) acknowledging the almost-immediate discovery of several very powerful strategies for Survivors? And, at this point in the metagame's development, the only Survivor teams that DON'T survive are real noobs? And the game as a whole is a lot less fun than it was in the first few days after release? Even though that will inevitably be fixed by Valve? ...or would that be in bad taste?
Its still pretty easy to fail versus mode with coordinated strikes. Paticulary coordination with a tank or a witch.
