Why is it most of the entries on the Troper Tales for I Know Kung Fu not actually examples of this trope? Of the ten entries on the page, only Peteman's, the law school guy's and Magus's actual belong on the page.

Jefepato: Are Yuki's guitar skills really an example of this trope? She didn't have them all along with nobody knowing — she started learning when the need became apparent.

Seth: Yuki does fall in a wider range of this trope though. She can learn anything at a moments notice (like the uploads in Matrix) fulfiling the same plot necessity as this trope.

Azreal: Doesn't the nam of the trope come from the LINE IN THE MOVIE that Keanu says...which is the page quote? Why does it say it comes from an SNL skit...

Chad M: "he name of this trope comes from a famous SNL skit parodying Keanu Reeves, who gets Kung Fu (and other combat skills) programmed into his head in The Matrix."

Why is this named after the parody and not the movie itself? Doesn't he say that in the movie?

prescience:

Note that Trinity, his eventual Love Interest, doesn't know how to fly a helicopter, so she calls Tank, who uploads a cartridge into her head so that, in the time it takes for her to walk from the top of the stairs across the top of the building to the other side of the heliport, she does now.

Not relevant - it's another example of an Upgrade Artifact. Pulling.

Ryanasaurus0077: On the subject of Yuki's guitar skills, Buckethead is even more skilled than Slash and Eddie Van Halen combined.
  1. In "Atlas Shrugged" Dagny flies an airplane when she goes searching for John Galt. It is never mentioned why or how she knows how to fly.

Gattsuru: She flies earlier, too; at least at the rush to catch Dwight Sanders if not before. It wasn't exactly an odd skill at that time, since real commercial aviation had problems until the late 20s, and even then was expensive and limited in routes (even in a world without collapsing infrastructure). Not sure if this needs to be reworded or still counts.
