Georgie: The page image. Is that Megatron?

Silent Hunter: Nick Stokes? Doesn't appear to be that large to me.

Lord Tywin: Me either, Silent Hunter. I came to the discussion page to see WTF was up with that.

Were Josh Peck Prince: It was so incredibly stupid of you not to have John Candy mentioned before. He was the biggest, nicest, most lovable man in show buisness. He had a lot of really good roles in movies. One of his breakthrough performances was in Planes, Trains and Automobiles in fact it was a favourite movie of both his and Steve Martin's. The movie Only The Lonely was also a major breakthrough movie for him- if you haven't heard of that movie or of Planes, Trains and Automobiles I seriously suggest that you rent both of them and watch them. And also about Jay Leno- He is a real nice guy and he's very funny too- you people just need to give him a chance. Listen to me when i'm saying this. . You know- A Gentle Giant DOES NOT NECESSARILY NEED to be giant sized- all it matters is that they have a big heart. Remember, a gentle giant character in a story can be tall but not neccessarily be the size of Godzilla or King Kong. My uncle for example is a big guy- in fact he's even taller than my dad- and he is the nicest uncle i've ever had- he's really strong too.

Filby: LOL - Strong Mad is kind of a nice guy, but gentle he ain't. Removing. ;) Also taking out Paul Bunyan, since he was pretty rough-and-tumble as well, even if he wasn't a fighter.

Kizor: This is probably too long to add to the article, so allow me to quote from the Sector General space hospital book series:
The creature was like an enormous, armored fish with a heavy, knife-edged tail, a seemingly haphazard arrangement of stubby fins, and a thick ring of ribbon tentacles projecting from the few gaps in its organic body-armor. The tentacles lay flat along its sides when it was moving forward, but they were long enough to reach beyond the thick, blunt wedge of the head. One tiny, lidless eye watched her as it circled closer.
Suddenly the head divided to reveal a vast pink cavern of a mouth edged with row upon row of enormous white teeth. It drifted closer, so that she could even see the periodic fogging of the water around its gills. The mouth opened even wider. "Hello, Nurse," it said shyly.

Were Josh Peck Prince: The Hulk does not count as one of these types- because well, The Hulk is usually quite agressive. Also we should remain this trope Big Guy Big Heart. Because it really doesn't matter how big said Gentle Giant is, it's what inside him that matters. It doesn't matter if he is a 50 Ft Goliath of a man or a misunderstood Frankenstein-like monster- all that matters is what he is like on the inside- a big softie, a real kindly lovable soul, and the type that would make a wonderful father. A lot of you seem to be forgetting the message from Disney's Beauty And The Beast, it's not what's on the outside- it's what's on the inside. You all seem to think that this trope has something to do with Attack Of The50ft Whatever. Well here's a news flash for ya......NOT ALL GENTLE GIANTS ARE GIANT SIZED.
Hydro Globus: Shouldn't we spoiler the Seanchan part of the Wheel of Time example?
