Easy Mode Mockery Discussion
Yoshi348: Just in case somebody tries to talk about Kingdom Hearts II in the example again, it doesn't fit this trope at all. You can unlock the movie in all difficulties. It's easier in the hardest mode, but the "normal" and "easy" mode are equally difficult, so it's a bonus for hard and not a penalty for easy.

Twin Bird: Regarding that video...what?!
  • And don't even think about 0.5 or 1.0 since the notes moving a slower pace means the notes are clumped together, it is the first time gaming has encouraged a faster pace of gaming.

Ray Ayanami: Uh, no. The recommendation of speed modifiers in Bemani-based Rhythm Games has been around as long as they have existed; nearly everyone who plays Pump It Up (first released in 1999) and beatmania/IIDX (first released in 1998 and 1999, respectively, though beatmania didn't get speed mods for a few releases but that's besides the point) uses speed modifiers. Do your research, please. And even if you did, what does using slower modifiers have to do with easiness?

Great Pikmin Fan: These examples are more or less "Game X doesn't give you everything if you play it on hard (the lowest difficulty" than "if you play game X on hard, (again, the lowest difficulty) your guy's shirt turns pink saying 'I AM GAY' in big letters, the game plays like a Homage of You Have To Burn The Rope (an exact remake), and at the end, you die from 'being so weak'". shouldn't the two get thier own tropes?
