Deus Ex Biotica: Does Firefly really count? I get the appeal of saying "everything Joss Wheadon has ever done," but Kaylee, Wash, and (as far as we know) Jayne don't have any real trauma to speak of...
The Uncredible Hallq: Firefly definitely doesn't count. Inara had her drama with Mal, but that's not back story. And while Book appears to have had a shady past, we aren't told anything traumatic about it. If no one protests in a couple days, I'll remove it.
Citizen: I think the "The Addams Family and The Munsters" example belongs in Dysfunctional Family, not here... (later: moved) Guy Smiley: Fanfic writers love this. It's very popular to shoehorn this into any given character backstory. Should we mention such? Citizen: 8-ball says: doubtful. Tanto: Mr. 192.236.51.14? Italics is two separate apostraphes, not one quote. Elfen Lied, not "Elfen Lied". Wanders Nowhere: Tweaked the Final Fantasy VII example a bit; it's kinda ambiguous whether Cloud/Aeris is really Loving A Shadow and she does openly tell him he resembles her ex, and that it bothers her but she's getting over it. She also has no idea Cloud and Zack ever knew each other, so she's not keeping that from him either. Aimlessly: I know NGE is a great example of this trope, but it seems like someone should be able to produce a more telling page picture... Taelor: Restored the entry on Black Lagoon, because no reason was given for removing it. |
