alliterator: This is a waaaay subjective trope. For one thing, I removed:

* The X-Files is largely a knockoff of Kolchak: The Night Stalker (the 1970's version).

Because no, no it isn't. Kolchak was a newspaper reporter that investigates the supernatural, a believer surrounded by skeptics. The X Files had Mulder and Scully as FBI agents investigating an alien conspiracy and various one-off MOT Ws. Certainly it was influenced by Kolchak but it was not a knockoff by any definition (knockoff also implies "inferior to the original").

R Taco: A lot of these examples seem to be negative, so shouldn't they be over on the Follow The Leader page instead?

Dragon Quest Z: That's assuming Follow The Leader is this but bad. And if some are negative, they need to be corrected to have a proper tone.
