Looney Toons: Sorry, Osh, but I really don't think the variations belong here. If anything, they should get their own page(s). Plus, I've been watching anime for 15 years — 40 if you want to count 8 Man, Gigantor and Speed Racer when I was a kid — and I can think of only one dog-boy (a one-off minion in a Ranma 1/2 movie) and no examples of any of the others.
I've moved the text intact to here, so it isn't lost, though:
Other variations:
Dog: Playful, loyal, full of pride and bravado in big doses. Acts tough but really a softie. Much more common with guys.
Fox: Almost universally connected with kitsune. Michevious and Laidback, and usually fond of drinking.
Wolf: Like dog but more aggresive.
Tiger: Somewhat like Catgirl but much more dominant and sexy in nature.
Keru: The other concepts already got covered somewhat in the entry for Unusual Ears. Full-on character types with those ears are rather rare... though, I can think of a couple of kitsune girls (in Yami To Boushi To Hon No Tabibito)
Citizen: We now have Petting Zoo People for this.
Xanni: Osamu Tezuka's Bagi was released in 1984. What is the 1950s predecessor claimed in the article? Space Ace: I wonder about the Western origins of this. That is to say, we don't call it "pussy" for nothing... Jisu: I'd say that image belongs more to the bunnygirl in the West. Catgirls do exist in Western entertainment, but as "weird" or, occasionally, "nerd pinups"; bunnygirls are more mainstream. What about Ritsuka from Loveless, it is odd to find a boy with cat ears. Citizen: 500KB seemed a bit big for a trope picture, so I replaced it.
That Other 1 Dude: What the hell is that context of that picture, and what does it have to do with Haruhi Suzumiya? Citizen: Cat ears and tail; does it really have to do with anything else? This is the Cat Girl page, not the Suzumiya Haruhi page. Calm down and take it at face value. It's Asakura fanart. Big T: Yes, but it links to Suzumiya Haruhi, so it should have something to do with the show. Since your Asakura link didn't go to Girl With Psycho Weapon, it was kinda confusing. I have a hard time telling that that is supposed to be her, anyways. Is there no way we can let people know that this is (a) fanart, and (b) who the heck she's supposed to be? |
