Jordan: It occurs to me, making someone where a barrel was an old punishment for being drunk in public, and I wonder if this where the association between that and poverty- this is what the "town drunk" would be wearing.
L-chan: Even if no one wears it specifically, can I count the barrel from El Chavo Del Ocho? Since the one who uses it is, technically, the poorest one on the neigborhour, and there is also the symbolism of the other peoples being "fallen".
