A series of middle grade chapter books about an eleven-year-old superhero, Max Silver- alias Maximum Boy, who gains the power of flight, super strength and super speed after encountering a glowing meteor. He is accompanied by Porter Torrington, "Tortoise Man", and later by his sister Tiffany aka "Maximum Girl", who also gains super powers.

- Domino Mask: The Silvers both wear a standard superhero domino mask + a cape, and a t-shirt.
- Flying Brick- Maximum Boy (and eventually his sister) both have the standard superpower set- flight, strength, speed.
- I Broke a Nail- In the first series after she gains powers, Tiffany complains that she broke a nail and insists that they stop for nail glue.
- Intelligent Gerbil- at one point Max has to deal with an invasion of aliens who are identical to talking Earth cows.
- We Come in Peace — Shoot to Kill: A somewhat clever twist occurs in one novel where alien cows decide to visit earth: The cows state that they come in peace, but state that how they leave depends on what they find. Sure enough.....
