Literature: Hazelwood High Trilogy
The Hazelwood High Trilogy is a trilogy of books by Sharon M. Draper. The books follow three different African-American students of the eponymous school and their problems.

The books are:
  1. Tears of a Tiger (1994): The book follows Andy Jackson, a 17-year-old basketball player who, after getting in a car accident that results in the death of his friend and team captain, Robert Washington, blames himself for his death, and distances himself from family and friends. In the end, Andy takes his own life.
  2. Forged by Fire (1997): The book follows Gerald, who struggles with his own life after the death of his aunt.
  3. Darkness Before Dawn (2001): The book follows Keisha Montgomery, Andy's girlfriend, and her life after Andy's suicide.
