An Eighties cartoon about the titular Barbarian and his adventuring group traveling and fighting evil, often in a violent and brutal fashion.
Like Space Heroes and Super Robo Mecha Force Five, this show does not really exist and is based off the fictitious show in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012).
Tropes in this show:
- Affectionate Parody: Of Thundarr the Barbarian, although there's also some references to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and Galtar and the Golden Lance. As a whole, it can be seen as an Affectionate Parody of the more violent Eighties Cartoons.
- Darker and Edgier: Compared to Space Heroes and Super Robo Mecha Force Five, it's a lot more cynical and mean-spirited. Most of the time it's just Crognard beating people up for petty reasons... to the point that our first seen intro involves the three "heroes" attacking a peaceful village of Slug People for the crime of offering them good tidings and free food.
- Designated Hero: Crognard is nothing more than a psychotic bully who wanders the world attacking anyone he sees.
- Gainax Ending: In "Dinosaur In The Sewers", the show has Crognard getting eaten by the dragon Wigglepuff, and the show ends, much to the rage of the Turtles. When they find out that this is the canonical last episode of the show, it's treated as an In-Universe Downer Ending — to outside viewers, it looks more like a case of Karmic Death.
- Spell My Name With An S: Crognard's name is pronounced so that it almost sounds like they're calling him Grognard, and the title-slots of his show seem to suggest his name is spelled with a G and not a C. But, despite this, the official name is Crognard.
