Even though the last few chapters were tremendously sad and terrifying, the last scene between Kirie and Shuichi, choosing to just stay in the middle of the spiral together, was really sweet.
Your Mileage May Vary, but the two Star-Crossed Lovers in the Twisted Souls chapter use the spiral to twist themselves around each other like snakes and are able to escape their Jerkass families into the sea together. Their swearing to be together forever is quite touching and is probably the only good thing to come out of the spiral curse in the entire series.
