- Max dedicating "Heaven or Hell" to his mother and Ms. Cross' husband, both deceased.
- Max and Herman mending their damaged relationship, best exemplified in a scene at the end. Herman asks to dance with Margaret, and she good-naturedly teases him, saying for him to find someone else. Max responds with "No, it's okay. He's my friend."
