• The Bittersweet Ending of "The Metamorphosis of Justin Jones". After seeing that he would, indeed, make it to adulthood, and once there help other abused children as a counselor, Justin leaves the paradise he'd made it to, returning to his abusive uncle's home so that he'd be able to help others, in an odd variation of the Heroic Sacrifice.
• The ending of "Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher". Jeremy had to give Tiamat up and thought he'd never see her again, but Tiamat manages to re-establish their mental link after some time, thus ensuring they'll always be together in some way.
• In The Skull of Truth, the influence of the titular skull causes a ruckus at Charlie's family's get-together. Among the various uncomfortable truths the family members admit to (the grandmother used to do striptease, the mother actually was married once before she married Charlie's father, etc.), Charlie's uncle not only outs himself to the family, but says that the man Charlie thought was his friend/roommate is actually his boyfriend. While two of the older family members seem fairly scandalized and upset, and Charlie himself needs some time to work out how he feels, the rest of the family (Grandma Ethel and his sister and brother-in-law) congratulate him on finally coming out to them and say that they'd been waiting for him to feel comfortable to tell them.
