Heartwarming / Impractical Jokers

Go To

  • During a live clip show, they played a montage of the other Jokers intentionally teasing Murr rather cruelly and even smacking him around a couple of times. At the end of it, Q turns to Murr, in front of the live audience, and tells him, "I just want to state officially that I love you," and hugs him.
    • Another Q and Murr one: during Murr's skydiving punishment, where he was so terrified that he was legitimately in tears, Q saw how distressed he was and wanted to change course, but Sal and Joe wouldn't budge. Considering that, not too long ago, Q was just fine with Murr getting turned into a human pinata, it's nice to see he does feel concern for his buddy.
      • In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, Q pats Murr's shoulder right before he (Murr) and his trainer take the leap.
      • Ironically, when all the Jokers are back on terra firma, Q is the one that Murr chases to deliver a punch to in retaliation for his punishment!
  • Sal and Murr are each tasked with trying to convince a stranger coming in for an apartment tour to come and live with them. Sal does a piss-poor job, but when it's Murr's turn, he instantly picks up on the guy's friendliness and matches it, both of them quickly getting more and more enthusiastic, high-fiving and hugging and excitedly running around the apartment looking at all the rooms, and even jumping on the couch; they're that giddy at the idea of living with each other. It's nice to see a challenge go genuinely well for both people, and the rest of the Jokers abandon all other potential commands for Murr because they're so ecstatic at the fact that the two of them are getting along so happily.
  • Q and Sal both get these moments in "Bidder Loser" on the first challenge that has them get someone to help bury a random item. Q buries the sex robot without any qualms and even chatted up the girl who helped him, but he wouldn't bury a bag containing live goldfish, since he's a dedicated animal lover. Additionally, Sal was supposed to bury his niece, but he refuses to bury her and tells her to never conspire with the guys ever again.
  • One challenge requires Murr to solicit donations for "some serious shit." A cop contributes a dollar, then starts to talk about her own "serious shit" — namely her two kids in college and three at home. Murr immediately pours out the jar for her.
  • Joe announcing to the other Jokers that he and his wife were expecting. Has the standard jokes and ribbing, but each one is clearly happy for him; congratulations and hugs follow.
  • "The Coward" manages to sneak in a couple of sweet moments in between Sal's bouts of dry heaving. Q encourages the viewers to call their mothers, and Sal, despite still being extremely grossed out, takes a moment to pet the newborn calf and tell it "everyone loves you."
  • During "Silence The Lame", Murr strikes up a conversation with a bystander as part of a bit. After the gang insists that he invite the bystander to a Broadway showing of Aladdin, Murr does. The guy actually shows up, and it appears that he and Murr actually had an enjoyable time.
  • During Season 4's "Watch My Kid" challenge, Q is prepared to take his turn with Luke, the same kid the other 3 had uses... only for the others to surprise him with Alex, a big fan of his that was dressed just like him. The two played amazingly off of each other, and Q even told Alex that he was the kind of son he wanted to have.
  • During bonus footage of Season 8's "Autograph Corrector," Q, whose punishment was ruining pictures that Yankee great Tino Martinez autographed for fans, saw that a little girl with her father was headed his way. Q begged for a pass, which Joe (himself a father to a young daughter) gave without hesitation.
Joe: You'll thank me when you have a little bambina.
  • Q adopting a cat he saved from traffic hours before Murr's pinata punishment was taped, which he named Brooklyn.
  • After a challenge in a grocery store, it comes out in conversation that the random stranger Q selected is retired "superhuman athlete" Dave Jacobs, a former national champion gymnast. The other three jokers spontaneously abandon their backstage post and take turns entering the scene to react as though they are having a celebrity sighting. The expression on Jacobs' face is priceless.
  • Danica Mckellar meeting Murr is played for Cringe Comedy, and the end reveals that she was in on the prank and found it Actually Pretty Funny. She and Murr stayed in touch, and she invited him over to have dinner with her and her husband.
  • Murr losing a challenge after being prompted to tell a heavier woman that she looked like "the heavy set broad from the talk show."
Murr: You look like a princess.
